Curse Over

Her boyfriend died.
Her mother left, her father cried.
Left behind, shattered inside.

"Please don't go."
"We can help you."

The lies flooded her ears, pushing her in front of the crowd.
Disapproval, fury, rage.
Rising up to her on stage.

She knew she was being watched.
She knew her life was on the line.
She knew she was outnumbered by those ready to kill her.

And yet she was not afraid; her life was already over.

She was ready to escape.
This world held no more magic for her.
The light of life could only be measured by death, and her stars diminished.
