Osprey and Yang Episode 7

[May WK3 2021]
It's been a good month since the twins and their peers started their own journeys in the monster ranching business. Few of them have entered tourneys already with Both Rhiannon and Edelgard winning their own respective tourneys as well as Princess Lucina who's quickly becoming the media's darling with her dominant win in the Fresh Rose Cup.(One may argue that her mother, Queen Cordelia, have something to do with this considering that she's buying the media to highlight her eldest daughter's success). As for the twins themselves, they are busy driving up northeast through the country side as they head towards their first tourney. That being the Dove Cup, a Rank E Tag Tourney held there.

Yang is sitting in the driver's seat with a bored expression as her brother Osprey drives. Their monsters, Kyo and Iori, are currently sitting in the back with different reactions. Kyo look somewhat nervous as he look out the window and see the many different ranches while Iori is brimming with bloodlust as he fidgits in the seat. Their driving leads them to the city that holds the Dove Cup, Adria. Whereas Ylisstol is a huge metropolis with a bit of everything for your needs. Adria is more of a agricultural place with a lot of fresh produce made by some of the local farmers. Some of which is shipped to Ylisstol for money. With that said, the amount of revenue their arena make for their tourneys also help stabilizes the city. The twins drive towards the parking lot of the arena and park the car there.

Parking the car, they get out and walk towards the entrance in their usual punk rock attires in the crisp morning spring air. Walking through the giant glass rotating doors, they see a couple of people walking around in blue/white uniforms--officials of the tourney-- and see a desk with a receptionist at it. They walk over with Osprey placing a hand on the desk. "We're here for the Dove Cup." The female receptionist nods with a bright smile and turn to her desktop. "Ok! And your names?" "Osprey Yin Branwen.." "Yang Ketchel Branwen" Yang speaks up as she points to the Garus next to her. "The pure one is Kyo and the Zabel here is my brother's Iori." "Uh-huh...." She type in their name and see their complete data including the name of their ranch. "Ok, King of Fighters 93! You go down the hallway to your left and reach to the end of it to head to the arena, then head to the dugout and wait for the tourney to start!"

"Thanks." They both nod and replied at the same time before walking off towards the designated place. Their footsteps echoed in the pristine hallway along with their monster's before they reach the giant doors. They both place a hand on it and open it up to the roaring crowd around them in the arena. "....Big..." Osprey muttered as they all look around. "...Hit different than sitting in the stands.." Yang add on with Kyo looking around in awe while Iori is bristling with excitement for combat. "....Look.." Osprey point to their left and see Mythra and Pyra sitting down and talking while their monsters, Hikari and Homura, are doing some stretches before their matches. Mythra look up and see the twins as she smile widely and wave with Pyra doing it in a much more subdued manner. "....That's the Aegis sisters, right?" Yang asked her brother who nods and walk to the dugout opposite of them. "Yeah..." He come across a gate that locked them out until he opens it up and head inside with the other 3 following him. Iori practically jogging to his side and looking up at him with a look filled with bloodlust, with Osprey noting but not saying anything about it.

"So...who else is here?" Yang catches up with them as she sit down before him as Osprey inspect the arena. Said arena seems to have a grassy turf with no obstacles on it to hide. A battlefield that promotes head-on battles with nothing to hide behind or even a lake of water for aquatic monsters. "...Besides the Aegis Sisters.." He point a thumb to another dugout where a blonde male with a white/red hoodie and blue jeans is talking to a black haired male with pink highlights in his hair with a green vest over a black sleeveless shirt and white sweat pants with slippers on--Which Osprey notes to have some Hosidian blood judging by his facial features and clothing attire-- with their monsters being a pure Suezo and a Momo with a fur color like that of a Tiger sitting on the Hoshidian's shoulder.

"Those two and.." He nudge his head across the arena to another one with two teens around their age. One was a fidgety purple haired girl with a red hoodie that hides her more mature figure as she feeds her Weed Plant(Plant/Naga) some fruit and meat as a much taller and broader light blue male with black sweatpants on and his blue muscle shirt off is busy doing last-min pushups with his Madillo who took it's shell off. "Those over there..."

Yang blink as she watches them and back over to Osprey with a bored look. "You're built better than lanky kong over there." "Ofc I am..." Osprey nods and sit down next to her and sighs with his head supported by his hands. "This is gonna be a trivial affair..." "I wish we were home practicing our music..." Yang replies before widening her eyes for a moment. "Wait...we could use Iori and Kyo in our band..." Osprey turn his head towards her, listening as she continues. "Iori on the drums and Kyo as the electronic pianist..."

"....I'm interested in this." Osprey let a small smile as Yang does too with a nod. "We can talk about this when we get home...we better focus on this now." She pat her older brother's head and ruffles his long hair before sighing and laying on the bench. "Wake me up when we're gonna fight...I'm tired.." "Yup..."Osprey sighs and lean against the wall as he waits for the tourney to start...

Meanwhile, Ruby is laying on her couch within her ranch that's Southwest of Ylisstol(Therefore, opposite of the twin's which is northeast) with her monster, Flora, outside doing drills with the Target gadget. Her TV is currently being changed every channel with her eating a plate of cookies in a leisure manner. With the remote in her hand, she went from channel to channel until she landed on the tourney channel with the Dove Cup being televised. She was gonna change channel until she got a glimpse of just who were there. Seeing her siblings made her sat up so fast, her cookies almost flew out of her plate which she barely caught with her hands. "No-No way..they're there?!?" She quickly turn the volume up as the coverage was starting up.

"HELLO AND GOOD MORNING TO EVERYONE!" A orange haired man wearing a red suit shouted into the microphone with a pretty brunette standing next to him with a similar red dress on as she too have a microphone in her hand. "IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN ADRIA AT 9AM AND WE ARE STARTING UP THE DOVE CUP! I AM FERDINAND VON AEGIR AND WITH ME AS ALWAYS IS THE LOVELY DOROTHEA ARNAUNT!!!" Dorothea's smile is kinda strained as she remove the microphone from her mouth and lean in to Ferdinand. "Ferdie, your mic settings is on maxed...as usual..." Ferdinand blinks before he look at his mic while Dorothea sighs and put on her smile. "Good morning to all, as my co-host have said, we are about to start the tourney. Before we begin, we would like to give an brief interview to each team since we have word that this is the first tourney for them all!" The crowd cheers as Dorothea walk around the arena's edge and first start with the blue haired male and his shyer purple haired friend.

"Hello there, would you like to speak a few words to the mic? Mister..." _The male laughs as he speaks into the mic with a loud voice. "The name's Caspar Berlgliez! And this here Madillo is my partner-in-crime, Otto!" Said Madillo, much more subdued than his trainer, calmly waves at Dorothea who giggles. "We're gonna take the gold medal and the prize money here with Bernadetta and Audrey helping us. right Bernie!"

The moment Dorothea place the mic in front of her, Bernadetta scampered back as fast as she could away from it and against the wall. "GAH, I-I-I DON'T WANNA SAY ANYTHING THAT CAN CANCEL ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA, FOR THE LOVE OF SOTHIS, KEEP IT AWAY FROM ME!!" Caspar merely laugh her off with Bernie holding her Weed Plant in front of her to protect her as Dorothea only sweat dropped "(I don't see this team advancing today nor in the future...)
With Ferdinand, he's over with the Aegis Sisters with Mythra practically taking most of the spotlight. "Of course we're gonna win, we have a full rep to live up to from our parents and lineage.." She flips her air as Ferdinand nods. "I see...and your monsters are..."He gestured to the Angel and Salamander with the former smiling while sitting in the air as the latter merely grunts. "My Hikari is a Angel with higher INT than most Pixies!" Pyra pets her Homura on his head "My Homura is a bit of a hothead, but that's only cause of his dragon-blood within him." Homura snorts, causing some fire to get out of his nose as Pyra smiles. "Naturally, Dragon monsters tend to be very combative...one more question before I leave...which other team here have you worried?" Pyra rubs her chin before answering. "I am afraid I can't really say one more than the other, each of them have strengths that I believe me and my sister can't overlooked..." "BUUUUUT!" Mythra slides next to her with a coy smile. "If I were to suggest one team to keep an eye out for..." Her eyes land directly on Osprey who's sleeping against the wall with his sister's head on his lap as she too sleep with Kyo calmly sitting down while Iori......

Iori is knocking on the gate on their dugout slowly until it gets faster that leads to him climbing on the door and banging against it with such anger in his face, he look like he's possessed by a demonic force. He slowly calm down and sit down next to a smirking Kyo with Iori looking positively livid at the lack of violence. All of this shown on the jumbotron and across the region on TVs.

"........" Mythra's sweat drop with a nervous smile as opposed to the look of horror on both Ferdinand's and Pyra's. "Well...i think the Branwen Twins will be quite a team to look out for..." "Wait...Branwen?...As in RAVEN BRANWEN?" Ferdinand's eyes widen as Mythra nods. "The one and only..."

Ferdinand takes a hankerchief and wipes his forehead from the nervous sweat. "A-ahh...I see.." "(I think I'll take them, don't want my cohort to take them on by herself.)" _As this was happening, Dorothea was interviewing the the only male team here. "And your name is Jaune Arc?" "Yeah." The blonde male rubs his head sheepishly. "As in, the only son of the esteemed ARc family with about 7 daughters?" Jaune nods with a more strained smile. "And your monster...instead of a Durahan or anything related is..." His Suezo is currently laying down while reading a book with a lazy expression, much to Jaune's annoyance who sighs and turn back to her. "....Yeah, my partner, Freddy..Couldn't find a Durahan disc stone, so I got this one instead..." Dorothea nods with a faux-apologetic look. "How sad...and your friend here?" She turns her head and mic to the other male who bows. "Lie Ren with my partner...Ming-Tun." Ming-Tun waves shyly which make Dorothea(And many other females excluding a sleeping Yang) coo over it. "Awww...so cuuute...so how well do you think you and Jaune here will do?"

Ren crosses his arms, deep in thought. "I suppose anything can happen, We want to win, but we have heavy opposition--be they known like the Aegis Sisters...or unknown like the twins..."
Dorothea cast a look of weary towards said twins. "You don't say...well!" She smiles at the males and wink at them. "Good luck, I'll be rooting for you two personally!" As she walk away, she felt a shiver going down her spine, like someone staring daggers into her back. Ren sighs and look up in the crowd to see an orange haired girl gripping her can of pop hard next to a smiling red head who's patting her back as to calm her down.

"You're not the only one....You ready, Jaune?" Jaune look over to Freddy who's staring back at him and nods. "Yeah.." He smiles at his friend. "I'm ready."

With the twins now, both Ferdinand and Dorothea are with them now as they look down on a sleeping Yang with a now-awake and scowling Osprey. "So....You're the son and daughter of the highly esteemed Raven Branwen, yes?"

Osprey blink slowly and dug out of his ear.. "Yea..we are..." "And from what we've learned from rumors on social media and off of it, your father is also the one and only Taiyang Xiao Long?" Dorothea pitches in, eager to get some gossip going which Osprey don't notice as he nods. "Yeah, he's our dad..." Dorothea turn to the camera and fistpumps before turning back to him. "Oh my, is there any idea you have as to why they didn't married and just fu--" "ANYWAY..." Ferdinand scowls and scold his partner who frowns at him before he smiles at Osprey. "So you have 2 Garus...which one is your, may I ask?" Osprey point to Iori who's standing at the door thinking it's time to fight. "That Zabel over there is Iori who's mine..." He then place a hand on top of Kyo's head "And this one is my sister's Garu, Kyo."

"Ah, very expressional monsters to start with.." Ferdinand nods with a smile before getting Dorothea to push him away as she thrust a microphone at Osprey's face. "So! Curious minds are itching to know more about you two...where would you begin?"

"I'm the eldest son of both Taiyang and Raven with Yang as my younger twin sister and Ruby Rose as our little sister. Both me and Yang are musicians in the making with our own band, The Band of Fighters, making our own music. I'm also an amateur writer who combined with my amateur drawer here.." He rest a hand on a sleeping Yang's forehead " have made some nice stuff for us to read at our own leisures..."

Dorothea nods with a wide smile(Mythra from a far, writing notes on what Osprey said about himself) as Ferdinand sighs and step forward. "One last question before my partner's desires get the best of her." Dorothea scowl at the verbal jab at her. "Who do you think is the toughest team here to beat." "No one..." Gasps can be heard from the arena.. "Cause we're gonna rock them all like a Hurricane casted by a Gali." "Oh my,...such confidence...I hope it don't nip you on the back soon..." Dorothea winks as she walk away with Ferdinand bowing to them and walking off as well.
Osprey sighs and lean back with him wishing for the tourney to finally start...
