  1. [22:09] {NARRATION} As you approach the epicentre there is a disturbance around you. Something pulling away at the world, something reaching out, denting at this world. Those attuned with such things would sense the involvement of the spirit world and its denizens. Though this was no mere spirit that was attempting to reach on through the this world.
  2.
  3. There is a breakpoint in the world and a mass of energy surges forth. For a moment it is formless before it begins to condense. Raw mana shrinks down into skeletal fingers. It pushes further, an arm comes through followed by a torso, each movement the same clump of mana that recedes down into a more bodily form.
  4.
  5. As the bones form, so too does the flesh that belongs on them begin to creep their way along. Starting in the middle of the ribcage, organs develop, a heart swells and grows and begins to send out blood vessels like the root of a plant as they squirm across the bare bones. Next, clothes appear, long robes that drape across the unfinished, draping form.
  6.
  7. In the place of eyes, two glowing orbs of deep purple energy seem to scan out from the skull's sockets, as if judging you.
  8.
  9. Zenkichi was, somehow, despite how unphantomably unlikely it was, right for once. Given that he was a budding manipulator of spirits and aspiring manipulator of the mystic arts, Zenkichi probably had an inkling of an idea of what was happening before the spirit in question broke through. But his senses weren't nearly sharp enough to give him enough time to warn the rest of the party.
  10.
  11. No, his mouth had barely opened by the time the skeletal figure broke through.
  12.
  13. "...Ah."
  14.
  15. Of note, for the spectral being - Zenkichi just so happened to have a particular blade that might be of interest to him. The one which he now clutched in his hands had gems inserted onto its hilt. More accurately, these gems were cut and shaped from the shards of an Umbral Lord - perhaps a kin to it? Either way, the latent dark energies inside of the shards had long since been evicted in favor of holding a different type of energy that couldn't quite be identified.
  16.
  17. "Iosefka. You think it wants its ghost rocks back?"
  18. (Zenkichi Wvelven)
  19. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20.
  21. [22:14] Iosefka Coza exclaims, "... Hopefully not!"
  22. [22:15] Setzer Azahara asks, "Uhh..?"
  23. [22:18] {NARRATION} The orbs scanned around before settling on the person who was addressing it. Vocal chords had yet to full form across the re-assembling body. However, words still passed across the air to Iosefka.
  24.
  25. "From beyond, of course. Where else?" The skull seemed to incline slightly as the orbs swept around the crowd once more. "Humans... so full of such succelent emotions... Do you even know what kind of a... delicacy you are to me?" The skull grinned before the creature rose slightly into the sky.
  26.
  27. Its boney hands stretched out and magic ignited around him. You would all feel a very distinct *tug* on the very core of your beings as
  28. you were probed by the power of death magic.
  29.
  30. Zenkichi draws a measured breath.
  31.
  32. It had been a while since he had felt this kind of pressure. As the death magic reached out to probe at Zenkichi, it found little quarter. While against most, the manipulation of an unguarded soul would be enough to send them to the ground reeling in agony - or worse, send them to the beyond right then and there, Zenkichi was a powerful magi in his own right.
  33.
  34. Even then... with all that being said, it was the first time Zenkichi had felt such a force.
  35.
  36. His eyes bulged and it looked like he was ready to take a knee and tap out for a few seconds. "Ph... You know. I always did hear that the Spirit Realm had a lot of nasties in it. I guess this is as good a wakeup call as any." Metal fingers curled around the hilt for his blade.
  37.
  38. Though Joanne had still not awoken, he firmly believed that she was watching over him now. After all, it was basically her job now. "So far, I've tried putting spirits into things. I think it's about time I learn to kick them out of stuff too." Those metal fingers turned to fire as his limb shifted and morphed into a vicious claw - combining the powers of wind and fire into an engine of destruction that seemed ready to tear apart anything in its way.
  39.
  40. "What do you say, huh? You want a one way ticket back home courtesy of the best guy ever?"
  41. (Zenkichi Wvelven)
  42.
  43. A loud, echoing voice rattled out as the creature simply laughed at your plight.
  44.
  45. "GOOD, YES! YOU HUMANS ARE THE BEST WHEN YOU ARE FULL OF EMOTIONS!"
  46.
  47. The skeletal hands lunged forwards, bringing the magic with it in full force. The creature was certainly attacking now that it had gotten people riled up. The world around him seemed to shimmer in the dim light, as if something in the very air had begun to freeze over.
  48.
  49. "A Wraith! Hah! I am not some mere weak wraith. I am Zad'Rathul. I am a lord of souls. And you will make fitting tributes to my greatness... mortals."
  50.
  51. The battle was nasty and brutal. Eventually, the Nethradin would be defeated though not by any one person. Also Crafthold are really bad with splash damage apparently. Even still, these team kills would be capitalised on by the creature and would invade their spirits with the last of his energy,
  52.
  53. The Nethradin's body crumbled away, leaving bits of flesh and bone here and there but it was clear its physical body was defeated. It's soul and spirit however? That remains to be seen.
  54.
  55. Those afflicted with his curse would find themselves far more emotional than usual, prone to acting on the slightest whim... as if begging to be another feast for a Nethradin.
  56.
  57. (Anyone that rolled 3 or less is now a hormonal teenager again for 2 IC years, have fun.)
