- if i restore content from an old website which has been copied by newer websites will the content be seen as plagiarism even if i 301 redirect from original article which pre dates the newer websites which have copied the content?
- am i right in thinking it would depend on the 301 redirect being found by google? what is the best way to get the old urls noticed? will google just see them as the new posts go live?
- another thing i am considering is a syndicated system where new posts are shared on linked social accounts as i place new posts ( i am rebuilding a html site to wordpress with new url) would this be a good way to gradually bring the new site to life ? i presume suddenly making a thousand posts live from draft will not be ideal?
- It will be 100% considered plagiarism. Specially from a 15+ year old site (depending on when it was dropped)
- I seriously doubt that Google archives and uses a very old cache for plagiarism detection purposes.
- But if you own that content and you have some screenshots (maybe Archive shots) to demonstrated this, you could send some warnings to the new content owners and they may dismiss their content for your behalf.
- Also you can fill some DCMA complaints if you have those Archive.org shots.
