  3. The secret to my success with Pay Per Click is very simple. But don’t let this fool you. It’s also VERY profitable.
  4.
  5. My secret is… Bidding on product name keywords only
  6.
  7. See, when most people buy PPC, they try to bid on as many keywords as
  8. possible. The problem with this is that you often have to spend a ton of
  9. money in testing. I’m not into that. I only want to MAKE money.
  10.
  11. The reason why I only bid on product name keywords is that I know
  12. these people are ready to buy. They just need a little encouraging, and
  13. that is where I come into the picture. I reassure them in my copy that
  14. this product will fix their problem, and that they should by it.
  15.
  16. Let’s use the example of a customer who wants to lose weight. The
  17. person searching for a product like The Truth About Abs is much more
  18. likely to buy than a person searching for something like “how to get
  19. ripped abs.” First of all, the person searching for “how to get ripped
  20. abs” might be looking for a free solution. And secondly, let’s say that
  21. person reads on a site that The Truth About Abs is the best product to
  22. make this happen. Well, they might end up doing another search to see
  23. what other people are saying about The Truth About Abs. They may
  24. very well end up buying that product, but chances are, they are not going
  25. to come back to your site to do it.
  26.
  27. In essence, the biggest advantage to bidding on product name keywords
  28. only is that it keeps your costs down. Now, if you have an unlimited
  29. budget each month to bid on PPC, go ahead and buy as many keywords
  30. as you can, and test, test, test. But I have a very limited budget, as I
  31. suspect you do too. And remember, not losing money is just as
  32. important, if not more important, than making money.
  33.
  34. SO WHAT SHOULD I SELL?
  35.
  36. If you are a newbie, I do not recommend that you use PPC. Why?
  37. Because you probably don’t know what sells yet! See, I only buy PPC
  38. for products I know are hot sellers. (The only exception to this is to buy
  39. PPC for a new product where there is very little competition, because I
  40. am not going to have to spend much money) The way I know if a
  41. product is a hot seller is to test it first with free marketing strategies. I
  42. am a big fan of article marketing; in fact, even though I make hundreds
  43. each day with PPC, I still do article marketing. Does it bring as much
  44. money in as PPC? Not even close, but I still make some cash (which
  45. means more money for me to spend on PPC, where the real cash is!)
  46. When testing a product to see if it sells, I write about 25 articles and
  47. submit them to Ezine Articles. If I get a couple of sales, then I know the
  48. product sells, and I am willing to spend some money on Pay Per Click.
  49.
  50. If you are just starting out and have no idea what to sell, look for
  51. desperate markets, where people have a problem that they need to get
  52. fixed right now, and are willing to spend money to do it. You also
  53. should look for items that actually DO something for a person, as
  54. opposed to just giving them information. Yes, information products do
  55. sell, but they also have information that people can get for free. People
  56. are more likely to buy something that will save them time, or allow them
  57. not to do any work at all. People are lazy, take advantage of it
  58.
  59. (MARKETING TIP: you may want to actually convince people that
  60. they need to use the product you are promoting to fix their problem,
  61. instead of fixing it themselves. List the problems they could run into by
  62. fixing it themselves, and tell them how using your product will make
  63. things much easier for them)
  64.
  65. HOW MANY KEYWORDS SHOULD YOU BID ON RELATED TO THE PRODUCT NAME?
  66.
  67. The answer? As few as possible.
  68.
  69. In fact, I only bid on the actual product name, and variations of it. For
  70. instance, if I am promoting the foreign currency trading platform “Easy
  71. Forex”, I only bid on “Easy Forex” and maybe Easyforex. I never use
  72. quotes or brackets, because I do not need to. You can also bid on
  73. phrases like “buy Easy Forex” or “purchase Easy Forex.” I have not
  74. done this in the past, because I have not needed to, so if you do this, you
  75. are on your own 
  76.
  77. WHAT SHOULD MY AD LOOK LIKE?
  78.
  79. This one is fairly simple. (Seeing a pattern here?)
  80.
  81. Most PPC “experts” will tell you that you MUST put up a bunch of ads,
  82. and then test to see which one works best and use that ad.
  83.
  84. I have never had to do this. Instead, I use one simple ad. And that is:
  85.
  86. “Is (product name) a scam?” for the headline and “do not use (product name) until you read this!”
  87.
  88. This ad taps into the psychology behind why most people search for a
  89. product name in a search engine. They want to know if it really works,
  90. and whether they are going to get ripped off if they buy it. I get very
  91. high clickthrough rates with this type of ad, and in case you didn’t know,
  92. clickthrough is very important when you first put an ad on Google
  93. because it determines your Quality Score. The higher the quality score,
  94. the lower your cost per click will be, and the more money you will make
  95.
  96. A LITTLE TRICK I HAVE LEARNED TO INCREASE MY CLICKTHROUGH RATE (AND MY SALES)
  97.
  98. This tip is black hat, so proceed with caution.
  99.
  100. A way that you can not only improve your clickthrough rate, but squash
  101. your competition as well as to have two ads of YOURS on the same
  102. page of a search engine. BUT, Google will not allow you to do this
  103. within the same account. So, what you need to do is create a second
  104. Adwords account, and design your ad. Now if you do this, I would use a
  105. different credit card than your primary account, a different email
  106. address, everything. After all, you don’t want Google shutting down
  107. your entire operation.
  108.
  109. CONCLUSION
  110.
  111. At this point, you may be thinking that this is too simple, but honestly, it
  112. works! As I said earlier, the beauty is that it really keeps your costs
  113. down. Pay Per Click can get very expensive, but if you are on a budget,
  114. this is a great way to maximize profits without spending a lot of money.
