Lord Ludwig and Lady Bella Raedia are Devin's parents.

Ludwig Raedia is a genius, a man of great magical and physical strength, lover of enchantments and summoning. Ludwig is also a narcissist and a manipulative monster, whom Devin learned his haughty, manipulative, and cruel behaviors from, prone to cold and barter bullying. He alternates between considering Devin his prized son and useless trash. He's currently stuck on the latter setting, for now.

Bella Raedia is a proper lady and master of the household, second only to her husband, an intelligent, diligent, and powerful woman, a mighty warrior-woman who loves booming spells and methods of power-enhancement. Bella's also a cruel murderess who relentlessly fawns overs Ludwig with a strong sadomasochistic side. She openly flirts with/molests anyone she desires, and has a serious fetish for pain which she exercises on unwilling subjects. If she doesn't think you're attractive, you're a pawn. Devin got his more violent tendencies from her. She loves her son and loves her husband dearly, but she's also the one person Devin REALLY fears. Ludwig never dealt out physical punishment.


Devin both respects and fears his parents. For the longest time, he thought of them as being like gods, invincible on Avitia and even more powerful in the next life. It is only now at age 24 that he's been coming to grips with the fact that, however powerful they are on Phasidia, they are all demon-chow in the Abyss. He still has to catch himself when he accidentally refers to them as, “The Great Ludwig and Bella Raedia,” as they demand to be introduced to strangers. When feeling paranoid, he refers to them as such on the off-chance they're in hearing distance.

Cousin Brutus is a fat pig who raped Devin's sister, Dahlia. He has not forgiven him for this, seeing as the baby girl of three years, Maggie, keeps having to be rescued from summoned demons, other cousins of ill repute, and the wine stash, and he often had to do it when there are no servants around to do so for him.

Big Sis Dahlia, for her part, is a big shut-in he hasn't talked to in a long while. She seemed weirdly obsessive about various hobbies of hers, picking them up and dropping them over the course of months. She had little in the way of social skills before the rape and afterwards she seemed practically unhinged and neglectful of her child and health. She hasn't bathed in months and responds to being touched with gouts of fire, so that stinks. Devin hopes that maybe he can convince her to join him in the search for redemption.
