After the death of his father, T&#39;Challa now prepares to be crowned the new king of Wakanda. However, T&#39;Challa finds that his position is now being challenged by the appearance of an old enemy named Killmonger, which puts both Wakanda and the world at risk. Teaming with the Dora Milaje, his little sister Shuri, and his CIA ally Everett K. Ross, T&#39;Challa must harness the powers of the Black Panther to fight his enemy and save Wakanda from destruction.
In the aftermath of <a href=">Captain America: Civil War (2016) and in the wake of King T&#39;Chaka&#39;s death, young Prince T&#39;Challa returns to his secluded homeland in Wakanda to prepare for his coronation day. However, the new King will soon have to face the technologically-advanced country&#39;s arch-enemy, the arms-dealer Ulysses Klaue, who is well-aware of Wakanda&#39;s secrets and is determined to make a profit with the aid of the megalomaniac, Erik Killmonger. Can the noble Black Panther protect not only the throne but also the land&#39;s very future?
This movie was awful. Disgustingly bad in so many ways that I can&#39;t explain them all. Generic story-line, very confusing scenes, showing new developments every 5 seconds, trying to keep the watcher entertained. To me it felt like the really bad try of Marvel to counter whitewashing in movies, say &quot;blackwashing&quot;. I was insulted by how ridiculously it is done, mixing tribal style with african american elements. All actors could have been white anyways as it seemed so unreal, but then again, all the barbarism wouldn&#39;t quite fit. In my eyes an abominable illustration of black culture and a down to the core white and terrible movie. 1 star for the neat visuals though.
Noble idea and nifty action at times, but strip away the CGI effects and we have a horribly slow film pretending to be something it&#39;s not. Just an overall lame entry into the MCU.
[Coogler] infuses nearly every frame with soul and style, and makes the radical case that a comic-book movie can actually have something meaningful — beyond boom or kapow or America — to say. In that context, Panther’s nuanced celebration of pride and identity and personal responsibility doesn’t just feel like a fresh direction for the genre, it’s the movie’s own true superpower.
