  61.
  62. 3.1 House and Extensions [HOUSE]
  63.
  64. Kitchen (10000G at the carpenter's)
  65. Comes with a refrigerator with 60 slots for food items, three cooking implements (frying pan, pot, oven), and both a shower room and a bathroom (toilet). See the cooking section for a full guide to all the recipes. The shower room and toilet can each be used once a day. Showering (the left door) gives you -30 fatigue, and using the toilet (the right door) gives you +2 stamina. When you buy the kitchen, it also increases the size of the main room (where the bed and table are), but doesn't add anything else to it.
  66.
  67. Food items that can be stored in the refrigerator:

  72.
  73.
  74. 4 Sugar Village
  75.
  76. 4.1 Ronald's Supermarket [SUPER]
  77.
  78. Ronald's shop is mostly just the place to sell crops. It's also a nice source of eggs, especially early in the game, since you can incubate an egg for a lot cheaper than you can buy a mature chicken. Selling berries is also a good strategy so you can buy more seeds early on.
  79.
  80. Location: Just outside the farm in the central town area.
  81. Hours: 8am-6pm
  82. Closed: Sunday

  104. 4.2 Carpenter's House [CARP]
  105.
  106. Although StH is a bit weak in the area of house expansions (there are only two), the carpenter's house is a good place to sell minerals, which can fetch a decently high price.
  107.
  108. Location: In the forest area leading to the lake (to the right as you leave the farm).
  109. Hours:

  292.
  293. 9 Glitches [GLITCH]
  294.
  295. Like any HM game, StH has its fair share of glitchy behavior, some of which can actually be exploited for some benefit. I've tried to include all the known glitches, even the seemingly useless ones.
  296.
  297. 9.1 Weed Intro [WEED]
  298.
  299. I would argue this is more of an "exploit" than a glitch, but it's worth putting here since it might represent some unintended behavior. As mentioned in the affection section, each villager has two different hard-coded "introduction" boosts--one for if you are holding an item ("gift intro"), and one if you are holding nothing. Sometimes these values are the same, but usually they are different. For example, Bob gets +12 the first time you talk to him if you aren't holding anything, but +14 if you are. If the item you're holding is a gift that the villager likes, then you will hand them the item during the dialogue, and that will count as their daily gift. And since the introduction already counts as their daily conversation, you won't be able to boost their affection any more that day.
  300.
  301. Now, most common gifts (berries, flowers, herbs) give a +4 boost. So because the gift intro boost is always only +2 more than the normal intro, it's actually more efficient to do a regular intro (no item held) and THEN give the villager the gift. In the example with Bob, he would get +12 from the intro, then +4 from the gift, for a total of +16, rather than just +14 from his gift intro.
  302.
  303. The "weed intro" trick takes advantage of the fact that if you "gift intro" with an item that the villager doesn't like (such as a weed), you won't give them the item, but it will still count as a "gift intro". Thus, you get the extra +2 from the gift intro boost, but you are still able to gift them for that day.
  304.
  305. In our example with Bob, if we intro him while holding a weed, we will get his gift intro boost of +14. If we then give him a berry, for another +4, we will have a total of +18 for that day. So a weed intro is the best way to maximize your affection gain with a villager on the very first day you talk to them.
  306.
  307. A weed intro works with any item that the villager doesn't normally accept as a gift. This isn't limited to just disliked items; some villagers have +0 items that they don't accept, and can be used as a weed intro. The eligible items for each villager are highlighted in their respective affection tables.
  308.
  309. For those villagers whose normal intro and gift intro values are the same (such as Dia and Kurt), a weed intro gives no benefit.
  310.
  311. 9.2 Horse Levitation/Out-of-Bounds [HLEVI]
  312.
  313. First discovered by crazyberzerker and documented by him in September 2014, this is the earliest glitch discovered in StH to my knowledge. The initial setup demonstrated by crazyberzerker involves opening the quick inventory as the horse hops the fence, but I later found a much easier setup that I will describe here.
  314.
  315. Ride the horse to the far side of the pasture, opposite the fence. Dismount and walk in a straight line away from it, perpendicular to the fence. Hop the fence, but don't move any further--let Toy land and complete his little "kneebend" animation. From this position, press L2 to whistle for the horse, and move slightly to the side so you're out of the way. If spaced correctly, the horse will run and hop the fence towards you, then immediately hop back the other way before freezing in place.
  316.
  317. If you now approach the horse, you will find that you walk right through him, and cannot mount him. To fix this, whistle him in a direction where he won't hop the fence (as this would reset the glitch). Then you will be able to mount him in the glitched state.
  318.
  319. In this state, if you ride the horse into certain pieces of collision, such as buildings, trees, hills, etc., you can gain height and start riding the horse through the air (hence "horse levitation"). Be careful not to hop any fences, as this will reset the glitched state. As shown in crazyberzerker's original videos, you can use this to gain enough height to get out of bounds on any map in the game (except the Sacred Land, as there is no way to get the horse inside without using the initial "Sacred Land discovery" cutscene, which resets the glitch). If you dismount the horse while floating, you will fall until you touch solid ground.
  320.
  321. This is a very fun glitch to mess around with, but it's not particularly useful. The out-of-bounds area is just an endless black void, and if you ever dismount with no solid ground beneath you, you will fall endlessly until the 5am warp teleports you back to the house. If you press triangle while falling, you will softlock, as the game gets stuck trying to move the camera while falling.
  322.
  323. crazyberzerker's original videos:
  324.
  325. 9.3 Chicken off the Farm [COTF]
  326.
  327. The game normally doesn't allow you to take your chicken off the farm. If you approach the farm exit, you will be stopped by a textbox ("It might not be a good idea to keep the chickens outside.") and forced to walk back towards the farm. However, if you position yourself in a very specific spot right next to the loading zone, you can simply press R1 while holding the chicken and the game will trigger the load. It's a bit difficult to describe the setup in words, so I will link a video of it.
  328.
  329. The chicken acts as a universal affection spam on all villagers. If you show the chicken to a villager for their introduction boost, they will treat it as a "gift intro", and every subsequent time you show the chicken will give +2 (or +3 for Nic, Nak, and Flak). Birthday modifiers apply to this boost as well.
  330.
  331. For some reason, the only exception to the spam is Kurt; he can be spammed up to 20 affection, after which the spam stops working. The spam does work infinitely on his birthday, however (Winter 10).
  332.
  333. If you set the chicken down outside the farm, the game will crash, so be careful. Triggering a cutscene will get rid of the chicken and transport it back to the coop. Because you can't enter any town buildings while holding an item, this spam is only usable outside.
  334.
  335. If you enter the Brownie Farm pasture while holding the chicken, one of Bob's horses will become "linked" with the chicken; that is, the chicken's model will be overwritten by the horse, allowing you to move the horse around through the air. This also lets you set the chicken down. Which horse's model gets linked to your chicken depends on which of the first five chickens in your coop you are holding. If you're holding the sixth chicken, this visual glitch doesn't happen, and you can't set the chicken down.
  336.
  337. If you set the chicken down at the Brownie Farm pasture and leave, you won't be able to get it back. It will get sick and die eventually, since it's technically still "outside".
  338.
  339. This glitch is extremely powerful, and quite easy to pull off once you learn the position. It's especially good for the Treasure Hunt endings, but you have to plan your day effectively so you know where to find each target villager outside. Also, just to be clear, the chick (immature chicken) works exactly the same as the chicken for the purposes of this glitch.
  340.
  341. 9.4 Town Load Storage [TLOAD]
  342.
  343. Position yourself in the same spot as for chicken off the farm, but without holding a chicken. Wait until ~4:57-4:58am, just before the game would teleport you to the house at 5am. At that moment, either pocket a held item (with R1), or whistle with either L1 or L2. You want to do it with such a timing that the action overlaps with the 5am fadeout. If done correctly, you will have "stored" the farm-to-town loading zone.
  344.
  345. What this means is that from anywhere on the map, you can trigger the load with any of the following actions:
  346.
  347. - Whistle (L1/L2)
  348. - Some tools (Hoe, Sickle, Watering Can, or seeds)
  349. - Picking up an item (forageable, crop, egg, fodder, chicken, dog)
  350. - Throwing/setting down an item (including filling the dog bowl or fodder bins)
  351. - Pocketing an item with R1
  352. - Eating an item(?)
  353. - Pressing R1 while holding an unpocketable item (dog, chicken, or item of which you already have 99 in your rucksack)
  354. - Hopping a fence AND completing the "kneebend" animation*
  355.
  356. * After hopping a fence, you can instantly cancel the "kneebend" animation into any directional movement, so to trigger the load with a fence hop, you must hop the fence and specifically NOT press a direction, to let the animation play out
  357.
  358. What I mean by "trigger the load" is that if you do any of these actions, the game will instantly load you into town, as if you had just walked there from your farm. Once you do this, the storage is spent, so it can only be done once per storage. It can be done from outside or inside a building. In all cases, the effect is the same, with the exception of the Villa. If you trigger the stored load from the second floor inside the Villa (either inside Dia's room or just at the top of the stairs), the game will appear to drop you out of bounds into the black void (as described in the horse out-of-bounds section). However, this void is actually the town map, but without any textures or collision loaded.
  359.
  360. The storage state persists between areas and between days, so you can freely move around the map, go in and out of buildings, and sleep without resetting the storage, as long as you don't trigger the load with any of the actions listed above.
  361.
  362. I suspect that the initial 5am setup can be done with more actions than just what I listed, but they are harder because the animations are shorter (and thus harder to overlap precisely with the 5am fadeout). Whistling or pocketing an item are more prolonged animations, so they are easiest. Another easy one would probably be using the watering can.
  363.
  364. This may sound just like a funny glitch, but it does have one powerful application, detailed in the next section.
  365.
  366. 9.5 Part-Time Work Escape [PTWESC]
  367.
  368. Normally, if you start part-time work with Bob, you are loaded into the Brownie Farm pasture, and if you attempt to leave through the only exit, you encounter Bob, who asks if you are finished. If you say yes, he pays you and ends the part-time work state; if you say no, you are sent back into the pasture. If you wait inside the pasture until 5pm, you are forcibly teleported to the Bob encounter and the part-time work state is ended. In the part-time work state, your tools are taken and replaced with a milker and a brush, to care for Bob's animals.
  369.
  370. Using the town load storage, we are able to bypass the Bob encounter entirely and "escape" part-time work while remaining in the part-time work state. All you have to do is set up town load storage, start part-time work, and trigger the load with any method described in the previous section. This lets us do a few funny things.
  371.
  372. If you escape part-time work, then attempt to enter the Farmer's Shop area from the Tool Shop/Flower shop area, the game will crash. You can move freely around the rest of the map, enter/exit buildings, and sleep as many days as you want, and the part-time work state will remain in effect. This means that if you ever let the clock hit 5pm, no matter where you are, you will be teleported to the Bob encounter and the part-time work state will end. For some reason, if you are standing in the carpenter's area when the 5pm warp triggers, the game will crash, but all other maps seem to be safe.
  373.
  374. It is possible to end the part-time work state manually, but it requires you to use a cutscene to warp directly to the Brownie Farm pasture or the Villa, then enter the Farmer's Shop area from there. These cutscenes are the horse race challenge or Dia's Sacred Land cutscene. After either cutscene, you can enter the Farmer's Shop area and the Bob encounter will trigger (even though you're not supposed to enter from the Villa side, the game doesn't crash).
  375.
  376. Perhaps the most "useful" aspect of this glitch is that you get to keep Bob's milker and brush as long as the part-time work state is active, even if you haven't bought your own. You can use Bob's milker on your own cows, but unfortunately, as long as the part-time work state is active, your cows will only produce Milk S, even if they have maximum affection. You can keep the milker/brush and end the part-time work state by saving and reloading your file, but then you will PERMANENTLY LOSE YOUR OTHER TOOLS. Bob's tools will become your tools, and he will never return your original tools, even if you do part-time work again. This means that you can't do any more farming (as there's no way to get a new hoe/watering can), so it can permanently prevent you from completing certain endings, such as Treasure Hunt. You also will not be able to obtain a new fishing rod or flute if you had already obtained them.
  377.
  378. If you end part-time work at a time of day earlier than you originally started it, you will be paid a "negative" amount of money, which will subtract from your funds rather than adding. Unfortunately, the pay calculation only considers time of day, so there is no way to make a ton of money by sleeping a lot then ending part-time work, and there seems to be no way to underflow your money to a massive value.
