  1. When they enter, he doesn't hesitate to immediately turn around- grasping upon the parchment that he was carrying, the drakanite shows the copy of what him and Elyon got from the Council's memories prior to this. Part of him believed that Council may not have such memories, but.. surprisingly to him? They had.
  2.
  3. "Here, take a look."
  4.
  5. - - -
  6.
  7. It describes a mechanism that requires central source of power, one that is closely attuned to the element of whoever will undergo this ritual. In particular, should one be attuned to earth, then one must have earth crystals.. should one be attuned to water, then it's water crystals, and so on. Aside of that, it seems mostly made out of metals such as mithril, orchilacum, and even steel for seating platforms.
  8.
  9. The runework connected capsule where intended target must sit, with wires connecting to it as well; upon launch, it should attune whatever energy was nestled in the power center, constructed of orchilacum or metals with higher magical capacity; for multiple targets, one must consider Arcanium instead. Should one desire major, massive transformations & attuning up to five targets, Spire Shard can be power source.
  10.
  11. For lesser amount of targets, or lesser transformation that do not cause rapid mutations, runework, orchilacum and appropriate elemental shards will suffice, with mithril casing when available.
  12.
  13. - - -
  14.
  15. As it stands, this should be obvious to Magdalen, that she would be asked to construct this core, install particular elemental shards, and make casing.. as well as necessary runework to make that connection & attuning this energy to circuitry, as per description on parchment.
  16.
  17. "Do you think you can make this happen?"
  18.
  19. "I was thinking whether Spire Shard will really be necessary, but.. back on expeditions, it mutated like five people at once - and caused massive mutations, so I think unless I want that, it's not needed due to lesser volumes of energy." Besides.. the Spire Shard became volatile, threatening to explode everything.
  20.
  21. "It looked doable to me, at least..."
  22. (Keitaro Tennouji)
  23.
  24. The Angel-blooded is definitely, obviously interested. Magdalen would take that parchment, heading to a nearby table and laying it out. A thin sheet of paper would be lain atop it, rapidly copying down the information located on the parchment given to her.
  25.
  26. As she copies, she figures out what's entailed by the device, humming and idly swaying side-to-side as her rune-pen dances. She's completely and utterly focused on the information given, idly talking as she works;
  27.
  28. "Looking to have... Physical mutations applied to yourself, dear?"
  29.
  30. Just a gentle question given, and it doesn't take too long for her to have her own copy of the blueprint, rolled up and hidden away! She'll turn about to look to the other;
  31.
  32. "Seems that way to me, dear. Lesser transformations could be don with lesser materials used in the device's construction - and that we won't need a Spire Shard unless you make the device out of like Arcanium or something..."
  33. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  34.
  35. He doesn't mind her copying. After all, there was a promise that she would have access to whatever technology Gehenna gets their hands on- and considering that they got secrets of this structure out of Council's memories, it's only fair if she gets to copy it.
  36.
  37. "Yes and no."
  38.
  39. "You see.. what this did is basically not only force major transformation, which is how Caira got wooden legs and Eshmun got fish gills, but also bind several spirits to their circuitry - and transform Ark into Daemon, while turning Daemon into more Demon-like figure."
  40.
  41. "It also caused that cheesemonger Ookami to have fire-ears and major mutations to be like Fire Elemental - and a single Spire Shard was enough to fuel such major mutations for all five people, at the same time."
  42.
  43. There's a pause. Clearly, he didn't intend to make it that grand, and he only wished a change for himself- at lesser, moderate scale too. So while she asks, he answers.
  44.
  45. "I was going to turn my body into that of half-spirit, but it didn't work. The energy backfired, and it hurt me. It still beats within those spirit shards, stored, but.."
  46.
  47. "I want to use this technology to attune that energy to my mana circuits this time around. Since it worked for others, I figured I'd do the same for myself."
  48.
  49. In the meantime, the storages were tapped into. The assistants and helpers around the temple were bringing about necessary materials; mythril, orchilacum and steel, as well as proper surface for runework, all was brought to her.
  50.
  51. And since Keitaro is Shenlong, lightning crystals were brought along too, in order to correspond to his element.
  52.
  53. "Shouldn't be too hard to follow schematics, I think?"
  54. (Keitaro Tennouji)
  55.
  56. The white-feathered listens to the words of the other, a nod following. Then another. It's clear that she'll need a bit more time of figuring this out with herself to be able to fully grasp this device's functioning, but, regardless, she unwraps her immaculate white-staff from her back.
  57.
  58. That shaping device of hers, the Illyothian technologist not requiring much time to be able to make wonders like this... With metals lain about her, the white-feathered aligns her right hand with the grooves near the bottom third of the device.
  59.
  60. Gold-white mana extruded into the staff has the connections from Spire Shard core, to lodestone Capacitor activate. Iridescent mana dances about the fingers of that hand as she ignites the runework upon the bottom-half of her Animus, holding it horizontally before her.
  61.
  62. Kabu would note that this is likely one of the circles she mentioned - an application of her Wayfinding, Conversion, though modified and refined for this use. Her staff touches each piece of metal, letting that rippling wave of energy wash over them, leaving them translucent, mana-formed materials!
  63.
  64. Once all of the materials - Lightning Crystals included - are transmuted into their new form with those gentle taps, Magdalen holds the device horizontally before herself again, left hand wrapping around the top third section's border! More careful grooves found, and gold-white light running down tattooed fingers has the second connection open.
  65.
  66. The flawless diamond Focus at the head of the staff glistens with power, pointed at the energy-formed materials! They surge and unwind, breaking apart into thin, dancing wires that surge towards those crystals at the center! Orichalcum and mithril twine and twist, wrapping around the crystals provided! A sweep of that staff elongates and connects orichalcum wires to greater lengths, moving over towards a spot that's soon swarmed by the same dancing mithril and orichalcum cords and components - forming into that seating chamber! It's extremely cramped and compact.
  67.
  68. Another sweep back has some of the chamber's wiring flatten, spreading out and contorting into runic shapes - mana-carrying threads and strings, with the occasional odd and esoteric rune included among that which is common!
  69.
  70. Such movements, back and forth, back and forth, are akin the painter's brush, creating the raw shapes of the flat-bottomed, spherical energy core, and man-sized capsule, the two about a foot from one another! The painter's brush evokes, and then refines, growing smaller and smaller, and coaxing out tiny details. A removeable 'lid' for that energy core, before the wires along the inside flatten and contort into runework, akin to that within the pod itself!
  71.
  72. A hinged door for the pod, following those instructions exactly - although the external shapes of the devices follow Magdalen's design flair of elegant, soft-shaped, and possessing an almost-grain to them, as if grown organically. Shaped and evoked from raw materials!
  73.
  74. Once she's satisfied with the shapes, Magdalen readjusts some finger-placements about her left hand, allowing the top-third runework to ignite, the mana-formed shape of the assembled device tapped with that verdant-green de-Conversion circle!
  75.
  76. Causing the newly-formed machine to surge into existence in a rippling pulse of energy!
  77.
  78. Settled before him, the Angel-blooded cuts the first connection, allowing mana to seep from runework and focus, before cutting the second, letting the bottom's runework and capacitor drain! Staff is re-wrapped, and Magdalen looks very, very tired, as per usual...
  79. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  80.
  81. The brilliance of her work was always something to watch.
  82.
  83. Whatever people all across Agartha might think about Magdalen, there's one thing that cannot be denied - it's her mastery over the craftsmanship such as this, and her ability to weave metal as if she were a painter, weaving new things into existence like no other. It's always a wonder to him just how exactly she came to be as masterful as this.. but he imagines that her staff is precisely the reason to that.
  84.
  85. It had to be the staff.
  86.
  87. And of course, operated in skilled hands. He imagines that even if he were to lift it personally.. he'd have no clue whatsoever as to what he should do with it. Instead, he might do more harm than good, and so such work is best left to those that knew how to handle it.
  88.
  89. Where the metals take their shape, one after another, the mechanism coming to fruition.. where the runework is made to match the required attuning, necessary tosurge and filter the energy inserted into core to create the alteration within circuitry that he so desired. Even then, he imagines that once it's done, there would still be another thing to do. Something else to complete..
  90.
  91. "Huh.."
  92.
  93. He may have a cunning mind, but cutting edge technology wasn't his strong suit. Instead, where he sees Magdalen grow terribly tired and runework is laid out just like in the parchment, he blinks, glancing between the demi-angel and creation she made.
  94.
  95. "Is... is it done?"
  96.
  97. It's almost spoken hesitantly, unsure whether that's the case.
  98. (Keitaro Tennouji)
  99.
  100. That odd staff is wrapped up, oncemore, placed with her gunblade and the wide, rectangular device wrapped in black canvas she now bears! The entire pale-staff is completely featureless, not a single clue to its operation...
  101.
  102. Strange.
  103.
  104. The white-feathered comes to sit on the edge of the table, a small nod following his question.
  105.
  106. "I've built it as no mortal's hands could build it, mhm. It's made pretty much exactly to spec, with just what you gave me.
  107.
  108. It should work, even if it took quite a bit of resources to build, mhm. But I'd activate it with maybe a doctor or two nearby, dear. I still don't entirely understand how it achieves that whole mana-mutation type of function, and I'll probably examine it in detail some time."
  109.
  110. Such an advanced complex thing, built in literal minutes by the High Artificer. Another testament to just how powerful her ability to reshape and manipulate materials is!
  111. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  112.
  113. The truth of the matter is, he didn't entirely understand just what exactly prompts this exchange, but he knew that runework and this particular structure were certainly involved. If there was anything that had to do with it, it would be certainly the fact of just how complicated that runework was. In fact, it might be precisely the reason..
  114.
  115. But where the High Artificer finishes it so quickly, he can't help but ponder over the function of her staff exactly. Yet.. at the same time, he can't help but think - just what else is it capable of?
  116.
  117. When she affirms that there should likely be a doctor on stand-by, he nods along. It would be better if anyone at all was, really.. especially considering he doesn't know how this process could go. It's best if someone was to help, right?
  118.
  119. "I understand."
  120.
  121. "I'm thankful for your help, Magdalen. I'll update you on how it goes, and whether it's a success or failure. For now, I'll let you rest." Because she looked like she could certainly use that much.
  122.
  123. "Farewell for now."
  124.
  125. Instead, the completed mechanism was left here for the time being, guarded. It would certainly see some use later on. Soon.
  126. (Keitaro Tennouji)
