  1. 1. Entei's location is consistent from a hard reset +/-2 frames (rDIV variance?)
  2. 2. Everything after loading a save file is not consistent, and we don't know why. This includes:
  3. > Entei's jumps that occur when you change routes
  4. > The tile on which you encounter Entei (if he's on your route)
  5. > Entei's stats
  6. > NPC patterns
  7. 3. RTC seems to have little to no effect on manips, especially if they're short
  8.
  9. Thus, finding a usable manip means doing one of the following:
  10. 1. Finding a cluster of frames where Entei's starting location is on an adjacent route, ideally Route 39 (start manip in Route 38 gatehouse). This could be done on console, but it would be much more effective with an emulator bot.
  11. 2. Understanding the inconsistencies outlined in #2 above, and determining that the relevant variables are within the player's control. This is necessary if we want stats manip.
  12.
  13. The reason the current Route 37 Entei "manip" often fails is probably a combination of the following:
  14. 1. The +/-2 frame variance causes the player to hit a frame where Entei's starting location is not adjacent to Route 37
  15. 2. When the player hits a frame on which Entei's location *is* adjacent, Entei is only ~32% likely to jump to Route 37
  16. 3. The player's search comprises <100 steps, which means Entei is 15+% likely to not appear even if he's on the route
