- /sus/ Thread #1105: It Might Be Okay Edition

- -------------
- Somebody asked for this a few threads ago. This is not necessarily a retelling of Deltarune, but more so MGSV with Deltarune themes and characters.
- >Kris stepped out of the helicopter, his ponytail whipping wildly around his head
- >As he left the pad the wind began to recede, and the sound of chopping blades was soon replaced with the chatter of seagulls, the waves crashing against the pillars of the platform, and the occasional words exchanged between darkners.
- >Mother Base had grown considerably in the past few months, and Ralsei was concerned about the pace of platform construction: they were taking in more darkners than they could house. Kris rarely concerned himself with these things, relegating these issues for Ralsei and Carol to handle.
- >Both of them were waiting for him by the pad, awaiting some sort of instruction or signature for a project. Kris remained silent as he approached them. Ralsei was the first to speak.
- >”Kris, I’ve taken the liberty of ordering the construction of additional platforms to accommodate more darkners. As you continue to spare and recruit individuals in the field, Mother Base will require more room to house them.”
- >Kris did not give any reaction. He simply stared at Ralsei.
- >Feeling awkward, Ralsei moved to the next thing on his list
- >”We have also been hired to carry out several requests, one of which should be of interest to you. Somewhere in northern Afghanistan there is a dark fountain that our employer has hired us to close.”
- >Hearing this, Kris slightly rose from his hunched position. Carol, carefully balancing herself on her one leg and walking stick, shifted her gaze from Ralsei to Kris
- >”According to intel, a figure that matches the description of the Knight has been spotted close to fountain itself.”
- >Kris clenched and unclenched his bionic left hand. Carol studied him up and down as his fingers twitched, its internal motors whirring noisily.

- -
- >As Ralsei lowered his clipboard, Carol stepped forward towards Kris, staring him down through a pair of reflective blue sunglasses.
- >Kris looked straight ahead, his eye darting in every direction. Carol began to speak.
- >”You must find out what the Knight is up to, Kris. That girl won’t give us anything, and-”
- >Ralsei perked up and began to speak, interrupting Carol before she could finish her thought
- >”ah, the woman. That was the other thing I wanted to tell you about. The woman you brought back. We’ve tried getting her to talk but she has remained completely silent. Not even a sound. We have her in a cell on the medical platform. She’s mostly harmless. There was an incident where a darkner tried to cover her with a jacket and she broke his nose-”
- >Kris gave a faint smirk, exhaling sharply through his nostrils. Ralsei continued.
- >”-but she is otherwise cooperative. It’s strange. She could leave her cell anytime she wants, but she hasn’t made any escape attempts.”
- >Carol interjected, her icy voice drowning out the world around them
- >”You cannot keep her here Kris. She’s working for the Knight. She could kill all of us in our sleep-“
- >”-but she hasn’t. Which is why I think she could be of some use to us.” Ralsei crossed his arms, turning his attention from Kris to Carol.
- >”She could have let that that Tsunderplane kill Kris, yet she chose to spare it and save Kris’ life”
- >Carol shifted on her leg, her face contorting with anger. “She did that to get here, to Mother Base, that’s all. Her presence is beginning to affect morale. The men call her Susie, because she is suspicious. She doesn’t belong here.”
- >”It’s your call Kris.”
- >Kris looked to his left, over to the medical platform.
- >”Keep monitoring her.”
- >Ralsei nodded in agreement. Without a word, he turned on his heel and began to walk away.
- >Carol furrowed her brows once again, before turning and moving in the same direction as Ralsei
- (2/7)
- -
- >Kris thought about the woman as he drove across the long bridge to the medical platform. He wasn’t sure what he was going to do when he got there, but he knew he wanted to see her.
- >Carol was right. Susie could easily kill every person on Mother Base, him included. But she hadn’t. Not yet at least. But if she wanted to, why did she not do it when she first arrived?
- >Kris wrestled with the question as he approached the parking spot.
- >for some reason, instead of bringing the car to a stop, he jumped out of the jeep while it was still moving.
- >he rolled onto the platform while the jeep rolled into a railing.
- >odd. He felt as if he had been compelled by an outward force to jump from the jeep.
- >Choosing not to dwell on it, Kris started walking towards the stairs that led down to the cell that had been constructed for her.
- >it was different from the other cells. Instead of a ceiling, there were open grates that allowed sunlight to filter into the space. Despite Susie’s ability to phase through materials, the men felt safer if there were bars between them and her. Several men, all armed, stood around the grates above the cell. Someone had set out a table and chairs, on which sat a radio and several ashtrays. “It’s Your Move” by Diana Ross blared from the speakers. Kris did not particularly care for it.
- >the men standing by the railings noticed Kris and saluted him quickly. Kris simply began to walk down the stairs.
- >The breeze softened as Kris walked further down, and light filtered through the grates above.
- >When he reached the bottom, he turned his head to look at the cell. It was substantially larger than the cells in the brig. A large square, surrounded by bars. There was enough space between the bars to put an arm through. A cot, toilet, and shower were the only things in the cell.

- -
- >Susie was on the cot, on her stomach, with her head resting on her crossed arms. Her long brown hair covered her eyes. All that was visible was her long snout. She had her legs in the air, moving back and forth in a rhythmic fashion. Kris wasn’t sure if she was enjoying the music or simply finding a way to entertain herself. He had not moved since he reached the bottom of the stairs.
- > He could not help but stare at the monster in the cell. It was not the purple color of her skin that interested him.
- >it was her size.
- >Susie was huge in comparison to him. She was at least a whole foot taller than Kris. Even more impressive was her physique. The medical corps were astounded by her musculature. Her large, powerful legs and thighs had been able to propel her across vast spaces in a short amount of time, making her appear as if she were teleporting. More disturbing was her ability to become completely invisible, which she had used on the ride to Mother Base.
- >what puzzled the medical team the most, however, was her eating habits. Or lack thereof. Susie had not eaten a single thing since she arrived at Mother Base. She refused the food she was given. Yet she appeared to be perfectly healthy.
- >One of the cassette tapes Kris was given by the team had hypothesized that whatever is giving Susie the ability to turn invisible is also giving her the ability to create energy or food, primarily through sunlight.
- >they had also noticed an odd phenomenon. What they believed was her way of “drinking water”. Susie occasionally turns on the shower, standing and shivering violently as the water enters her skin.
- >Her ability to take in energy from the sun through her skin accounted for her…unusual attire.
- (4/7)
- -
- >A black G-string, bikini top, torn fishnets, and combat boots were the only things she wore. When she had first arrived to Mother Base, she had been wearing a very small chest rig, in which she carried a canteen, moss, and chalk. A pair of gloves, one reaching above her left elbow, the other at her wrist, were also part of her kit. Her axe was kept in a locker on the main platform, in the armory.
- >the outfit left little to the imagination, and the men who guarded her cell would frequently stare at the sparsely clad dragon
- >even Kris could not help but admire her impressive figure
- >He finally managed to move himself from the bottom of the stairs, walking towards the bars
- >Susie stopped moving her legs, shifting her body to lift her head from her arms. She turned her head at Kris, her eyes still hidden by her hair.
- >In one quick motion, she lifted her body from the cot and swung her feet onto the floor, taking a moment to lift her arms and stretch. Kris could not help but glance at her chest, before returning his gaze to her snout.
- >She stood up and began to walk towards Kris. He looked up to check the guards above the cell. They were all facing away from the cell, focused on whatever conversation they were having.
- >as he looked back down he noticed that she had something in her hand. A white stick of chalk that she held between her fingers like a cigarette.
- >Ralsei had mentioned that chalk from the classrooms had been going missing recently. But why would she take chalk?
- >Kris got his answer when she finally stopped right in front of him, using her left arm to lean forward on the bar. The chalk in her other hand was quickly placed between her lips, and she slowly began to consume it. Kris could not help but raise an eyebrow and smile.
- (5/7)
- -
- >The dragon smiled back, revealing a set of sharp, yellowed teeth. Despite her size and appearance, her smile put Kris at ease.
- >Kris felt compelled to reach for his left breast pocket, unbuttoning the snaps and reaching in for a small box
- >Ralsei had asked Kris to get more chalk the next time he was on a mission. He was sure Ralsei wouldn’t mind if one stick was missing. He produced the box from his pocket and opened the top.
- >Susie saw the box and leaned down towards Kris, her small tail moving back and forth as she anticipated another stick of chalk
- >He held the piece of chalk and moved it slowly towards her mouth. As soon as the chalk touched her lips she began to eat it, pulling it out of his hand.
- >His hand stayed there, inches away from her face, intensely focused on the hair that was covering her eyes
- >He could not help it, he was entirely entranced by her. Kris wanted more than anything to see her eyes.
- >Before he could raise his hand to her face, Susie brought up her own hand and ran her fingers through her hair, pushing it to the sides of her head.
- >Kris placed his hand on the bar in front of him, gazing up at her face. Her eyes were intensely yellow, almost glowing, and staring directly into his own with a tenderness he could not fathom.
- >Susie finished her chalk and stood up straight, putting her hands on her hips as she made several steps back from Kris. She tilted her head, still looking at Kris.
- >Kris was not sure what to do. Before he could think of anything to say, Susie turned around and began walking back to her cot, her hips moving side to side. Her tail was still moving.

- -
- >As Kris stood out in the warm ocean air, he took out his iDroid and ordered a chopper to pick him up at the platform.
- >he wasn’t sure what to do with Susie. Her presence really unsettled Mother Base. But he didn’t think she was a danger to him. She could have killed him at any point during their brief interaction. Her strange abilities and skill with the axe were remarkable. It would be a waste to dispose of her.
- >He tried to push Susie out of his mind, but couldn’t help but picture her smile. Shining in front of him. Whatever worries he held about his men and Mother Base simply melted away. He wasn’t sure how he felt about Susie, but he knew that he wanted to see her smile again.
