  100. Hi all, I'm / u / serhack , developer of cryptocurrencies and privacy expert. A bit of info on me:
  101.
  102. Development of payment systems based on cryptocurrencies (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, Verge, Zcash) and not (including Paypal, Stripe, Mastercard).
  103.
  104. They are one of the two Italian contributors to the Monero project, a criptomoneta focused on privacy. I translate and develop payment gateway for the community, which supports me financially and morally.
  105.
  106. I have a personal SerHack.me site that I care a lot about. Hinge point for (almost) all my projects and technical articles.

  135. But what CQC ask me Anything interesting!
  136.
  137. Start with a few general questions:
  138.
  139. How old are you?
  140.
  141. You have a pet? If so, what's your name?
  142.
  143. Have you ever done something on the internet that you regretted?
  144.
  145. How was the morning of <commitments> ?
  146.
  147. Favorite pizza? the one with the pineapple paid in Bitcoin / s
  148.
  149. And the more specific ones:
  150.
  151. Which languages do you work with?
  152.
  153. Can you describe your current work situation with three adjectives?
  154.
  155. Reviewer in Monero: in your free time or as a practice? (if the second one) Where do you work as the contribution to open source code is seen during working hours?
  156.
  157. Working on electronic payment systems, what do you think of their use in Italy?
  158.
  159. Future: can you make us any daring predictions about the future of cryptocurrencies?
  160.
  161. Future: how do you see it? Do you have any uncomfortable view of the PoteriForti ™ that you would like to share?
  162.
  163. Are there courses (coursera / udemy / edx ...) that you would recommend to someone who wants to understand something more on a technical level? Or as someone told me "you have to read the whitepapers and try to implement your own solution before you can talk about cryptocurrencies"
  164.
  165. Crypto or Cryptocurrencies? / s
  166.
  167. "Hello / u / serhack , I'm your grandmother, but then you work at the bank with not real money?" How to explain your work to an octogenarian (but also a forty year old who uses only whatsapp)?
  168.

  200.
  201. Thanks in the meantime for giving me the opportunity.
  202.
  203. One of the questions I would not like to answer. I am very young.
  204.
  205. Unfortunately I do not have pets :(
  206.
  207. Yes. Maybe too many times, including posting my photos on the internet. Before writing, publishing or posting something on the Internet, I think about it at least 5 times and I have a network of friends to whom I ask for feedback.
  208.
  209. My morning? Bah, normal. Although now I'm happier this morning for all the questions!
  210.
  211. Favorite pizza? The "Salumiere" (Würstel and cooked ham).
  212.
  213. The most specific ones:
  214.
  215. I work with a few languages (the classic programming languages / markup I leave them) but many frameworks. For the web: Node.js, ReactJS, Laravel (PHP), AngularJS. I've used Python several times, but more for scripting than for building APIs. For desktop development in C ++ and Swift, I also tried to do something multiplatform obtaining few and very heavy results.
  216.
  217. Stimulating, interesting but at the same time full of sacrifices.
  218.
  219. Free time for now, in the past they gave me a nice sum. I work as a freelancer, but I think every company should encourage open source.
  220.
  221. Assuming that you are referring to "classic" payment systems (leaving out the cryptocurrencies), I can say that this is a step forward for the banking industry. The main problem is: how can I trust the computer system? Since all the values visible through the bank's platform are within a database, by definition they can be changed. Italians are getting used to the idea, little by little, but they have not asked the right question.
  222.
  223. The world of cryptocurrencies is so decentralized that it is difficult to make accurate predictions, but, given the many limitations of cryptocurrencies, in a few years a new implementation will come that will open new developments.
  224.
  225. Until a few years ago, the PoteriForti took no position on the topic cryptocurrencies. At present some states are taking too risky decisions for me.
  226.
  227. Courses in Italian? Unfortunately not, but if more people ask me to do this, in a few years I will be here on reddit to present my "innovative courses". Seriously, if you really want to understand the whole system, study the "basic" concepts of cryptography and from there start with your adventure, reading "whitepaper" (academic papers are the best, but I also find it hard to understand what it is written) of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or of algorithms such as Cryptonote. Avoid all whitepapers that only talk about marketing strategies, funds and so on. The various online courses (on coursera / udemy / edx) are not very useful, if you want a general knowledge, buy them as well. For example, I went on experimenting and then studying the theory for the first 3 months. MA is wrong, first the theory, then the practice.
  228.
  229. Cryptocurrencies?
  230.
  231. Do you know when you go shopping on the web? I am the person behind the "Enter card number" panel, "Invalid card number". / s

  423.
  424. The concept of "team" does not exist on Monero. The community represents in all respects the criptomoneta Monero. The community is made up of contributors who finance, support or help the entire community system of Monero. Written this, I can estimate, at least 200 contributors of which 6 are part of the core, whose tasks are to manage the site and create official releases.
  425.
  426. They did not contact me personally, I proposed myself. The real strength is the community that participates in Funding economically and with enormous decision-making power. If you make a mistake in your sub-project or project, it's easy for the community to wonder if you really are capable or not.
  427.
  428. "I allow myself not to answer the question since Monero is one of the private crypts and therefore does not have a richlist". Technically it is impossible to know, unless you are the holder of most wallets.
  429.
  430. The books that have changed my point of view and have had a strong influence on the decision of a future career are "The Circle" and 1984. Two almost apocalyptic scenarios on the subject of privacy and data.
  431.
  432. Typical day: wake up early (7.00), in the morning I dedicate myself as a freelancer (development for esteemed clients) while the afternoon in Monero, help in the management, administration of various aspects within the community and program. In the evening I go on social media. Obviously between the various moments I have breaks in which I leave everything and everyone.
  433.
  434. The most serious threat to Monero in my opinion is the "51% attacks". That is, by holding 51% of all the theoretically decentralized infrastructure of Monero, a person could exercise his / her majority. To make it simple, it could "manipulate" transactions that have not yet been confirmed.
  435.
  436. Resistance to ASICs is certainly another way to defend oneself from "fake decentralization". ASICs are "special hardware" only to undermine a cryptomonet. Currently there are very few companies that manufacture ASIC. Hypothetically, a government could force companies to insert a backdoor of hardware, so as to control all those who use ASICs to control. As a proverb says: "Check the mining, control the blockchain". With Monero it is not so, since we are finding a solution: we force an update that consists in the modification every 6 months of the algorithm that accepts the hashes.

  473.
  474. For those who did not know:
  475.
  476. The General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD, in English GDPR, General Data Protection Regulation - EU Regulation 2016/679) is a Regulation with which the European Commission intends to strengthen and harmonize the protection of personal data of citizens of the Union European Union and residents of the European Union, both within and outside the borders of the European Union (EU).
  477.

  500. It all depends on the website you have; if the site is like mine (simple personal blog where you do not personally collect any information on visitors), you can feel comfortable. If you deal with personal information (even just the first and last name), then you must activate to understand what to do and how to do. It all depends on what site we are talking about.
  501.
  502. Surely you will have to have a policy for the treatment of data, privacy, if it is a company website, you will need to have a person acting as responsible for data protection.

  536. Personally I tell you that I have seen attacks on password manager several times. I do not trust the password managers blindly because even a well-designed program is enough to capture a password on the computer. Some RATs (Remote Administration Tools, used to "command" computers remotely) use specific techniques to intercept passwords (check on what site you went, check what you copy or paste, control on screen).

  602. Yes, you needed physical access to the machine. I remember the native password manager and I intentionally omitted it. Luckily we talk about months ago and theoretically the problem should have been solved for quite a while.

  662. Valid solution but with problems like the paper wallet (you know how many people have lost crypto flowers because they have lost the seed?). However with archlinux you are almost (I stress almost) sure not to take malware & C. To be paranoid you can use a password manager with a "hash" personal password in the site (example: reddit password is 1aqJAg9eh3 to which add you to the login (without having stored it in the password manager) IT445r.A work is in. Another solution that mitigates the problem but does not solve it putting the database on an external support.

  673. There are no better methods, rest assured that someone will find your password sooner or later. It's up to you to decide between how long that "someone" you find it, you can choose "password" as a password and half a second you will find yourself out of all your "Password wrong" accounts. I confess that in a forum (not on reddit) I write the opening words of the divine comedy to enter ("In the middle of the walk ..."). In case they enter the account at least they know I am a cultured person. Better long and simple than short and complicated. Obviously not too simple, the best combination for a password like:
  674.
  675. "Wild and harsh and strong forest"

  763. The main language for development is C ++. A good text is Mastering Bitcoin.
  764.
  765. Theoretically, choosing between two options, you could develop your blockchain. The first option is to choose an algorithm or a whitepaper of a protocol and start implementing the blockchain from the whitepaper. The second option, more complex and at the limits of the possible, is to theorize a protocol, develop a whitepaper and from there start the development.
  766.
  767. Using them is very simple as there are a lot of videos explaining how to use them. Several apps (including Italian) are opening the way for traders who would like to accept cryptomena. Theoretically one could buy everything, but many traders are discouraged by taxation, not very clear in the cryptocurrencies sector.
  768.
  769. Future developments? Honestly, many have raised various limits and problems (such as mining that has certainly upset the lives of gamers) also related to the environment. If you can develop an eco-sustainable, decentralized, secure, private and fungible blockchain, then you will have achieved success.
  770.
  771. The fluctuation of prices and the latest news ("guy bought zyz with the Bitcoin") scare the end user a lot, or the one who should use them more.

  802. NEVER supplied and then NEVER randomly given. Avoid sharing too personal information such as health / psychological status or information that can identify you on a social level.
  803. Avoid giving too much information during polls (for example on social media, "How cool are you from one to 10? Answer these 100 questions about yourself to find out") and do not click on ads.
