  1. He thought at once him to have swallowed quite,
  2. And rushed upon him with outrageous pride;
  3. Who him r'encountring fierce, as hawk in flight,
  4. Perforce rebutted back. The weapon bright
  5. Taking advantage of his open jaw,
  6. Ran through his mouth with so importune might,
  7. That deep impierced his darksome hollow maw,
  8. And back retired, his life blood forth with all did draw.
