  32.
  33. In the year 1999, I met with a man on a Yahoo! Instant Messenger
  34. chat room. During that time, he taught me how to play a text-
  35. version of the Pokémon Battle system. However, a week or so later,
  36. the man seemed as if he had dropped off the face of the Earth.
  37.
  38. If you know who you are, and know ian9002001, then please e-mail
  39. me at iyeru42 [at] gmail.com or use the same address to reach me
  40. on MSN Messenger.
  41.
  42. --
  43.
  44. During the years 2000 and 2001, I named the system [Battle Chat].
  45. But, a half a year or so after, I started calling it the
  46. [Darkbloodian Bout] System because of copyright issues with
  47. another individual. Also during that time, I changed the style
  48. used within the system. Afterwards, I changed it even more so with
  49. the second and third versions of the system.
  50.
  51. --
  52.
  53. Now, it is a very compact and basic system that utilizes no items,
  54. stats, etc. whatsoever. This system (LITE) will be my final DBB
  55. variation and version. Please take note, I use this system to RP
  56. with people personally. If you have any questions, please read the
  57. new FAQ section before e-mailing me.

  114.
  115. =================
  116. || BSA System //
  117. ==============
  118.
  119. The Battle-Story Action (BSA) System is a system developed to move
  120. the story along with battles. Battles in DBB Lite do not progress
  121. without one using Story Actions to deal damage to enemies, etc.
  122. To do these things, it is necessary to first learn what a story
  123. action is.
  124.
  125. *This is a story action. It appears on its own line, separate
  126. from character speech/etc.*
  127.
  128. In battles, which don't have any real transition anymore, you use
  129. the story action to attack your enemies like stated previously.
  130. An example is below...
  131.
  132. *Iyeru attacks the mystery man, but he blocked it!*
  133.
  134. Note, the success of an attack hitting its target is always 100%
  135. with the BSA System unless the story calls forth otherwise. You use
  136. the story actions to use items, etc. as well in the same manner
  137. that you do attacks.
  138.
  139. =================
  140. || SSA System //
  141. ==============
  142.
  143. The Speech-Story Action (SSA) System is a very large system. This
  144. system has several different usages and indicators. Please study
  145. this section very carefully, it is the back-bone of the entire
  146. DBB Lite System.
  147.
  148. ---------------------
  149. || Character Line //
  150. ------------------
  151.
  152. The character line is the area where characters talk and think.
  153.
  154. Character Name > "Speech" (Thought)
  155.
  156. In addition, characters can act apart from the story, for example,
  157. flailing their arms, etc. To do so, you use square brackets around
  158. the character's sub-action.
  159.
  160. Character Name > "Speech" [Sub-Action]
  161.
  162. However, if one wishes to migrate to this system, it is recommended
  163. that you use the following...
  164.
  165. Character Name: Speech (Thought)
  166.
  167. And integrate your sub-actions with your story actions instead.
  168.
  169. ------------------------
  170. || Story Action Line //
  171. ---------------------
  172.
  173. This is where most of the action in an RP takes place. You move
  174. around and do battle actions within the confines of the story
  175. action line. Now, the story action line appears separate from the
  176. character line, such as below...
  177.
  178. Character Speech/Etc.
  179. *Story Action*
  180.
  181. However, it can also appear at the start of your text instead,
  182.
  183. *Story Action*
  184.
  185. But please ONLY stick the story actions above character lines
  186. when you intro something that the character will talk about or do.
  187.
  188. --------------------
  189. || Trigger Menus //
  190. -----------------
  191.
  192. Trigger menus are relatively new, and were originally released in
  193. ver.3 of the original Darkbloodian Bout system. These menus allow
  194. users to form the story (usually) to how they want it.
  195.
  196. // Trigger Menu Title
  197. 1 >> Choice 1
  198. 2 >> Choice 2
  199. 3 >> Choice 3
  200.
  201. And so forth. Note the numbers to the left of the double arrows.
  202. When you choose a choice, you stick whatever is on the left of
  203. the double arrows into the System Line.
  204.
  205. ------------------
  206. || System Line //
  207. ---------------
  208.
  209. The System Line is where you input choices and where the System
  210. explains certain things, like tutorials within an RP. Examples of
  211. System Line usage are as follows.
  212.
  213. -TUTORIAL-
  214. To jump over to the other side of the airship, enter X when
  215. I say trigger.
  216.
  217.
  218. -EXPLANATION-
  219. The person you just spoke to will be your respawn point. If
  220. you are wiped out in a battle, you and your party will be brought
  221. back here.
  222.
  223. 1
  224.
  225. And so forth. Note, the system has no special formatting.
  226.
  227. -----------------------
  228. || Out of Character //
  229. --------------------
  230.
  231. Out of Character is a special speech formatting indicator that
  232. allows the user behind individual characters that the users are
  233. Role playing as to chat without confusion.
  234.
  235. Iyeru says:
  236. OOC: Did you hear about that new website that allows you to...
  237.
  238. Someone says:
  239. OOC: Yeah... I did.
  240.

  245. Question 1: Will You Be Bringing Back The Original System?
  246.
  247. Answer: No, there are no plans to support or utilize the original
  248. system; it is far too bulky.
