Red Meteor Quest Part 15

You and Sadie were trying to get downtown as fast as you could. You could hear tremors and roars, people screaming, police opening fire and barking orders. It was pretty easy to hear even though they were a bit of a ways away from everything.

"Come on Red, we've got to hurry. Blue Comet called back to her ally."

"Right!" You reply, putting more force into your leaps

You wouldn't say this out loud, but your mind was still thinking back to what had just taken place prior to this whole thing. Namely, Sadie making out with you on her couch. Hot *damn* was that awesome, and really you were surprised that Sadie could easily push something like that out of her mind.

Whatever, it doesn't matter, you don't have time to worry about things like that. It's time to get to work and save the city!

"Hey guys!" Comes Orange Sun's voice as she and Crimson Eclipse  joined the  leaping

"Good to see you the two of you as well!" You call back with a wave. "Any idea where Black Asteroid is?"

"Peekaboo!"  Comes Sanja's voice as she is...literally flying above you all. "You know, night time is really good for me, unlimited flight time!"

"Oh yeah, well watch this!" Orange Sun replies as she begins flying too, her legs becoming a ghostly. "You're not the only one who can fly!"

"Will you two stop fooling around, in case you've forgotten, we've got to a monster to fight!"

The two both went quiet, silently agreeing that Saya was right. The five of you eventually reached downtown. The entire place looking like a mess as overturned cars, wrecked buildings, and ruined streets.

You hear a roar, and look up, seeing the monster about a block over.

You are Red Meteor...and what the fuck is that?

"Everyone, let's get in there!"

"Right!!!" They all shout back in unison

You and your allies leap into the fray. You waste no time, getting the monster's attention by Throwing a large fireball at it. The monster lets out a howl of pain as it turns to you, it's sleek metal body glistening in the moonlight.

As it goes in to bite you, Sadie blocks it by raising up an ice wall, which it smashes its head into. causing it to reel back and roar from the pain. The wall shatters, while you back off.

"Hey hey, Red! Check this out!" You hear Jane call as she takes a deep breath.

What follows next is something you never thought you'd ever have the displeasure of hearing. A terrifying wailing comes from Jane's mouth as she focuses on the monster. It again, howls and begins thrashing around.

Poor thing is probably sad it has no hands to cover its ears...or uh...lack thereof...whatever.

This leaves it open as Black Asteroid and Crimson Eclipse launch a joint attack at one of its segmented parts. Crimson eclipse cracks one of the steel parts, while Asteroid slashes at it with some strange shadow claws she's got going on.

The pain  causes the the monster to sliver around, its tail slashing wildly. It takes all you can to dodge out of the way.

"Heh, this things pretty easy!" Crimson Eclipse calls out

"Don't get cocky!" Blue Comet exclaims, Who knows what this thing can do!"

The thrashing is dangerous, the monster hits and smashes against everything. You and the others move out of the way, allowing the thrashing to slow before you move in and slam into it with your saber. The monster roars again, forcing you leap off it it so that you don't get hurt at all.

Blue Comet shoots at the thing with her blaster, though it doesn't seem to be having too much of an effect, so she instead goes back to pelting the thing with ice shards. This...makes it a bit more angrier than usual as it swings its tale in attempt to hit her. While Blue Comet dodges out of the way, the attack comes too fast for Crimson Eclipse to dodge.

"Sa-uh...Crimson, look out!" Orange Sun exclaims  rushing to her friend's side and grabbing her, making the two ghostly to dodge the attack.

"Thanks." Crimson says

"Oh no problem, it's what the ghost powers are for!"

"Be quiet you two, and get back to fighting!" Black Asteroid calls out as she takes another swipe out of the monster.

"Goodness, I'm barely doing anything to it!"

"Alright alright, We're coming!" Crimson calls

What follows next is something you didn't expect, the monster while being hurt opens its mouth and lets loose a beam of energy. You...didn't see this coming, so you were completely  engulfed in the blast. You fly back, sparks shooting out from your armor as your body skids across the ground, your friends watching in horror.

"Red!"

"Big Guy!"

"Honey!!

"Boss!"

"Wait...honey?" Came the voices of Black,Crimson, and Orange

"N-never mind that! Black, check on Red, Crimson, Orange, with me!"  Blue Comet shouted "Mode 2!" She exclaimed

Sadie went purely on the offensive,  creating bigger and bigger Ice blasts to try and slow the beast down.

Orange Sun called on her Ghost Bit, shooting lasers from it at all sorts of awkward angles, while Crimson Eclipse, began bashing at any frozen parts, encasing her taiko drums in earth and slamming them down.

Meanwhile, Black Asteroid had come over to you, helping you up.

"Red, Can you stand?" She asked "Come on, get up...we need you."

"Y-yeah, that just...that really hurt." You groan

"Can you fight on?"

"Of course I can." you say stumbling a bit.

"Alright...let's get back in there."

You're in pain, but you can't let that stop you. You leap back at the monster, as you do, you can see Sadie getting knocked back by the monster hitting her with its head.

She's caught by Crimson who catches her like a football, while Orange Sun continues with the lasers from her ghost bits, all the while dodging its attacks without any issue.

"How durable is this friggin' thing?" Crimson calls out

"Oh I dunno...how durable do you think 2 tons of metal would be?" You holler back

"I got an idea!" Black Asteroid calls "Everyone back up!"

You do as told, retreating back with Orange, Sun, you and your friends all behind  Black Asteroid

"Okay, so what's this plan?" Saya asks

"Well, I'm just hoping I can pull this off..."

She lays her hands on the ground, channeling all of her power into the shadows. For a few seconds, it looks like nothing is happening, until the shadows come together slowly forming until they grow larger and larger, it's take about a full minute, the monster being just as confused as you all are when standing in front of you is another monster...

This one is inky black, No traces of metal or such are present, the only illuminated part are its pure white eyes.

"Di-did you just make a clone of that thing?!" Blue Comet gasps

"Yes and this is very hard to control so DON'T DISTRACT ME!"

"R-right...sorry."

The shadow monster lets out an sickening roar as Sanja commands it to attack the other monster. It tries to bite at the monster, but it flubs it, missing by a wide margin as the other monster slams into it, causing it to fall on some buildings destroying them. It then swings its tail around and repeatedly begins to smash on the thing.

"D-damn it!" Sanja scowls, she could feel every hit that was being dealt to her creation and it was agonizing to say the least.

"Gotta...reform it..." She muttered willing the beast to dissipate and then reform in front of them again.

"I can't keep this up if I keep taking hits like that..."

"Then drop it! We'll continue fighting!" you say

"N-no...just gotta be better. Can't take more hits..."

Again, Sanja commands the monster to go and attack,this time it returns the favor smacking its other self with its tail right in the head. The monster crashing to  the ground.

"You got it, lay into him!" Saya cheers

Sanja complies with that idea and has the shadow slam its tail into the monster constantly, like it did with her just a moment ago. The monster manages to break free, butting heads with the shadow as the two roar at one another and duke it out, really, this would probably make for one heck of a cool show.

"I gotta end this..." Sanja mutters

"Are you okay, you sound exhausted." Blue Comet said placing a hand on her shoulder

"Sadie, dear, I am controlling a 50 foot shadow monster, purely on my will power alone, this is VERY draining!" She said irritiably

"Right um...sorry, Just uh...finish up?"

"I intend to."

The shadow beast creeps up on the other, wrapping its entire body around it in an attempt to squeeze the life out of it.

"Come on...Come on...!" Sanja mutters sweat dripping off her hair within her helmet

Sanja continues pouring her all into the shadow beast. It constricts tighter and tighter, the roars of the monster first being loud, then slowly ceasing as it runs out of oxygen. Still, Sanja poured more power into it, until the thing began be crushed under the grip of its inky doppelganger.

A whole 10 minutes passed as the  creature was strangled, before Sanja finally gave out. Falling over in exhaustion. The shadow creature followed suit, dissolving into nothingness as the monster itself melted into a disgusting looking goo.

"Well...that takes care of that." Saya muttered

"Yeah, I hope Sanja is okay though." You say picking her up.

"Let's get her back to Sadie's place."

As you all go leap onto the rooftops, you get a call from Sally on your HUD.

"Boy oh boy, you guys sure did do a number on things down there." She chuckles

"Why did you call?" You ask, leaping from some buildings

"No reason, but I think we need to formulate a plan, if this is from Koffman, then he's starting to step his game up. Come on by, I've left everything open for you."

Your friends agree, and you all shift your direction, heading for Crescent Inc. Once there and up the elevator. You're face to face with Sally again.

"Glad you made it. So let's talk."

"Can it wait? Sanja's out cold."

"Hmmm, fair enough. She can borrow one of the rooms down the hall."

You nod and take Sanja down to one of the rooms in the hall labeled "Extra beds".

Weird.

You lay Sanja  down on one, her armor deactivating on its own.

"Think she'll be okay?" Sadie asks, the rest of you powering down.

"I hope so..."

You look over at Jane. She's looking you and Sadie over rather hard...what's up with her?

"Jane...what's with that look?" You ask

"What's up with me...? Nothing. But the real question is, what's up with you two?" She said pointin at you and Sadie

"W-what are you talking about?" Sadie said starting to blush

"Well you tell us honey." Saya said with emphasis while smirking

"T-that was just a slip of the tongue!"

"Now why would that be a slip?" Saya said teasingly

Jane looked from Sadie to you, a frown growing on her face

"Red! Yo-you and Sadie did 'that' didn't you!" she said in horror

"That...?"

"Yeah, you know...the f-fivesome."

"F-f-f-f-fivesome?!" Sadie yelled

"Ugh...not so loud, Sanja muttered sitting up...what are you all yelling about? Why does my head hurt?"

"Red banged Sadie and left us out!"

"THAT DID NOT HAPPEN!"

"You're acting like it happened." Saya commented

"It didn't, and what does Jane mean by fivesome?" Sadie said rounding on you.

First things first. You take Sanja's hand in your own. "Are you okay Sanja?

"Oh don't worry about me, I'm fine...just a little sore. I don't think I'll be doing something like that again."

Jane stamps her foot, a bit more forceful than she means to

"Come on Red, fess up! You and Sadie totally banged didn't you?"

You turn to Jane with confusion "What do you mean by 'banged'? Why would we run into each other?"

"Oh god..." Saya mutters facepalming

"Stop asking that!" Sadie squeals

"Look Red." Jane starts "When a man and woman love one another...they share...special relations...and um..."

"Jane, that's sex." You say flatly "There is no 'banging' there."

Jane is left flabbergasted by that response

"Huh, so he's not dense after all." Saya said wide-eyed

"Ugh so loud, I'll get to the bottom of this..." Sanja muttered as she stuck a finger in yours and Sadie's shadows

"Yep...definitely some arousal in there...from both parties. I'm kinda curious now too."

"Red don't...!"

"ADKJDKAWJAKDSKJSALDLAJLSDASLDKWJAO" Those are the words that escape your mouth. Those are the only words that can escape your mouth, the girls pretty much sapped all the words out of your mouth. You don' think you'll be able to speak again.

"Red...come on, stay with me!" Sadie says grabbing your shoulders

"HUREKASLDKWALKDA"

"No. Those aren't words!" she exclaims shaking you

"AOWJDLSADALDJLILWALDJN"

"I think we broke him..." Sanja giggles

"I am not settling for incoherent babbling. You stop that!"

"Well...it could be worse..." Jane sighs

"How do you figure?" Saya asks

"There was a good chance he'd flip out and run to Tim's closet."

"What makes you say that...?"

"The votes."

"What...?"

"Never mind."

Sadie continues shaking you "Pull yourself together and be a man! I-I want an answer, I poured my heart out dammit!"

The girls all stare at you...eagerly awaiting your choice on who will be the lucky lady. However as you think on it...you really can't choose from just one of them. Jane is fun, Sadie is adorable, Saya's pretty cool, and Sanja's interesting. How could any man actually choose when such pretty girls were willing to date him. He still didn't see what the girls found so special about him anyway. But still, he had made his choice.

"I choose..."

The girls leaned in...

"I...choose..."

They leaned  in even closer

"I choose all of you!" you exclaim with as much conviction as you can muster.

"A-All?!" Sadie said blushing

"You're all great people, I...I know I'm just some fool, but I truly cannot break your hearts in favor of just one! To see any of you, saddened would be a terrible act from me! How could I call myself a hero if I made a woman cry?"

The girls were all silent for a moment and looked at each other.

"Outside." Sadie said

"Huh...?"

"Stand outside."

You did as told, the girls all murmuring from inside. It's a whole 20 minutes before you're let back in. All of them standing next to one another except for Sanja who is still sitting on the bed.

"Alright...we're in agreement then?" Saya asked

The girls all nodded.

"All right then Red." Sadie started "We're...not entirely sure about this."

"I am!" Jane exclaimed

A quick thwack on the head from Saya shut her up

"Anyway...we're willing to sort of try this out. Just um...we're gonna try sharing you for a few days and see what happens?"

"Oh um...okay?" you say unsure of how to process this
"Yeah and um...we're all okay with each other. But if you try dating anyone outside of our group then...we'll um..."

"We break his balls!" Sanja said sweetly...far too sweetly

"Yes that. So uh...consider us 'temporary girlfriends.'

"I get the feeling something is off about that."

"I'm sure it is, but so what, our lives aren't normal anymore." Saya sighs

"Right, so that's the deal!" Sadie blushes "any questions?"

This is exhausting for you. Aside from the date, from earlier in the night, the monster battle and now these, you are both mentally and physically drained, so much so that you have but only one question.

"Can I go to sleep now?" You say tiredly

"Oh that's all...? Um...sure." Sadie mutters

"Okay, but one question: Who gets to sleep with him tonight?" Jane asked smirking

Suddenly the room goes tense as the girls all look at one another.

"Rock, Paper, Scissors?" Sanja asks

"Let's do it." Saya says with a furious determination in her eyes

What follows is a fierce battle that would have shaken the earth. The girls give their all  in the game until only one of them remains.

"I won!" Sadie giggles

"Alright Red, you sleep with me tonight!"

"I'm sure that's exactly what you want~" Saya smirks

"Sh-shut up!"

You crawl into the bed with Sadie, Jane and the others deciding that they've earned rest as well, Sanja especially. The morning comes and goes, and you wake up with Sadie nestling her head against you. You hear light snoring coming from the other ladies as well.

It's time to get up. As much as you enjoy Sadie like this, you've got plans to make and bad guys to break. So with that you hop out of the bed. You realize you don't need to worry about dressing up, since you (And the others as well for that matter) went to sleep in whatever you'd been wearing at the time.

You make sure Sadie is properly covered in blankets before you step out of the room, and head down to the hall. You figure you may as well head over to Sally's room and talk to her, after all, she said she had a plan or something.

Passing by a window you're greeted to the warmth of the rising sun...and you can clearly see the destruction  from last night's battle. There are dozens of cop  cars and rescue workers on the scene. Man, that's going to take months to fix up. Your little observation done, you step into Sally's room as she's working on something. She turns to you and sighs.

"Finally, I was wondering how long you were gonna sleep. I wanted to speak to everyone, but those girls are probably gonna be out for a while."

"So what's plan you have?"

"Glad you asked, so I noticed that that Sanja girl has shadow powers? That seems extremely useful."

"How so?"

"I'm thinking  we have her sneak around. She hides in someone's perferably Harold's Shadow and stalk him that way. Think of it like planning a heist. We'll use that ability of hers to gather info, before we make  our big move. What do you think?"

"Should she really go alone?" You ask with a raised eyebrow

"Not a bad observation, what about the bubbly one...Jane was it?"

"She does have those ghost powers of hers...and loves playing pranks with them." you sigh

"Ghost powers? That's pretty good actually. We could have her walking around the building to find things and no one would even notice!"

"That's a pretty good idea, but our odds of finding anything would be low. I mean the police did look."

"Then we just go places they didn't look. There's most likely places in there that had 'employee only' or something like that."

"That would be worth looking into I guess."

"No! I've done digging around their security mainframes and they've got some nasty things in there. Besides, knowing him, he'd use that footage to get the public against you, and the last thing you want is the cops hounding you and your friends while you all do the crime-fighting."

"Well, that does make sense...Still, we know it's him, so all we need to do is get in there and bring him to justice!"

"Sorry, but this isn't like the cartoons. We go in there with a plan, and we'll have this guy put away for the rest of his life. Besides, have a little faith in your friends. I'm sure Sanja and Jane could handle this task, don't you agree?"

"Well I guess you're right..."

"Glad to see you it that way. Now we'll wait for your friends to wake up and go over things in detail. For now, get some food."

She snapped her fingers, a small service robot rolling in with a hot plate of pancakes. You need to get yourself one of these things...
