  1. Sureau is a black horse anthro. He shares a very small apartment with a room mate, he has little to no contact with his family. He lives in the medium sized town of Tottori and works as an accountant’s assistant. He’s 23 years old.
  2. When he was between 18 and 20 he wandered around, didn’t always sleep in a bed. He lived on the small amount of money his family sent him as well as small jobs. He also sold some wooden sculptures, and found some jobs repairing and decorating old shrines. He never parted with his tools, the first ones he received when he was 15, and bought more over time, as well as a toolbox he carried everywhere. After he graduated high school and had to leave the dorm, he didn’t want to go back to his family’s place and wandered japan, mostly by foot.

  4. Sureau lived like that for about 2 years, sometimes sheltered by friends, the shrines he worked for, or renting small rooms when he could. He met Shoumei when he was on mount Hyouno in late spring. Shou visited his family who lived near a shrine. The tanuki peacefully strolled the woods, bored out of his mind, he didn’t like to live in that village. Sureau walked slowly, he was dirty and had slept outside the past couple days. That’s when a group of furs in their late teens started picking on him. The horse had known his share of street fights, he’d rather lay low and eventually those bothering him would get bored, as he had no cash. But these were insistent and eventually one of them kicked his toolbox down the steep valley on the side of the road. Sureau got a bit upset and tried to fight back, but he was alone and weak to begin with.

  6. Shou decided to use his shape-shifting ability to scare off the bullies. He lent a hand with retrieving Sureau’s tools. Then he offered to shelter the horse for a couple days, that turned out to be until summer. In that time he befriended Shou. With his help Sureau found work at the nearby shrine. Then Shou left to attend his courses in Tottori city.

  8. Sureau worked at the shrine for half a year, he saved up enough to move in Tottori too. He rented a very small flat with a room mate, and decided to go to college, he wanted to help Shou with his dream of opening a shop in Akihabara. He attended college for 2 years while also working part time jobs, before getting his accounting diploma.

  10. He still wants to become a well known sculptor. He started playing drums and would like to have Shou join his band.
