[01:27] <Maryn> [And so we arrive at what seems to be a destitute orphanage on the edge of the town.]

[01:45] <Maryn> [She finishes with time to spare as she turns to Ellise as the Matron sets things up for what seems like a impromptu playstage.]
[01:49] * [Rut]Ellise waits, sipping her drink in the meanwhile. She sees a couple brats run by. Ho hum.

[01:54] <Maryn> The Play we're supposed to do is simple. One of us is going to play a dragon and the other a hero who will battle mights and wits against the monster.

By the time they finished with the help of the Matron, they seemed to have gathered a small crowd of little runts, who seemed more than eager for the play, because you know what, bulliying the skinny nerdy wizard only gets you so far before he casts Flare III on you.]
[21:44] * [Rut]Ellise didn't help set up at all. In fact, she wasn't even in sight! Maryn has no clue where she went... until she stumbles into view. The alcohol in her scent alone is enough to burn the nostrils.

[22:03] * Maryn goes to the Matron and apologizes like a normal person profusely for the trouble that her "friend" has brought with her.

[22:07] * Maryn disseappers for a moment and brings back a mage from The Guild. She's a bit short but seems confident in her abilities, she even has an odd rainbow colored cape and long purple hair...
[22:15] <Maryn> Ok.. so...Zeffy.. the plan was...
[22:15] * Maryn explains the whole thing to her and she replies with fervor, ready to play the role of the big mean dragon.
[22:24] <Maryn> And....as for Ellise...

[22:25] * [Rut]Ellise taps her foot impatiently.
[22:26] <[Rut]Ellise> Get on with it alreadyyyyy~!

[22:27] * Maryn gets on the stage with the Zodiac girl and the stage curtain falls to cover as Maryn and the girl scramble to get in place.
[22:43] <Maryn> [The curtains open and Maryn and Zeffy are in their correct costumes, well.. at least for Zeffy who is a rather convincing dragon as she blows "fire" at the audience, which is while warm.. is not harmful at all~]

[23:09] * Maryn looks around for Ellise and does not see one... she starts getting worried and sends a cue for the girl to step up.

[23:21] <Maryn> [She screams like a little girl, surprised by the sudden intrusion.]

[23:25] * [Rut]Ellise is an angry drunk.
[23:27] * [Rut]Ellise wrestles with the poor girl until she gets a strong grip and rips the costume straight off of her! She's... not left with much.

[23:27] <Maryn> [The little girl cowers and whimpers, she runs off crying.]
[23:28] * [Rut]Ellise haphazardly tries to fit her head in the mask, continuing to grumble and shout.

[23:28] <Maryn> [The kids seem confused, and some of them are scared.]
[23:29] * [Rut]Ellise trips over the hem of the outfit and, blinded by the mask, stumbles into the shoddily rigged curtains. They fall, burrying the stage actors.

[23:30] <Maryn> ....
[23:31] <Maryn> [There is a tone of silence heard throughout the crowd... The Matron quickly realizes something's done fucked up and directs the kids that the actors need a break and moves them elsewhere for the time being.][

[23:34] <Maryn> Ok.. Ellise we need to talk..
[23:35] * [Rut]Ellise crawls out from under the curtains and bops herself on the head in a cutesy way. Shameless...

[23:36] * Maryn walks off to find the little girl and the Matron for a proper apology.

[23:47] * [Rut]Ellise waves to get Maryn's attention, still wearing her silly grin. She doesn't seem to see the problem at all.

[23:48] * Maryn looks at Ellise with quite a bit of disdain.

[23:55] * Maryn throws up her hand in defeat and heads back, she finally finds the Matron and tells her that she won't ever bring this person again.

[00:15] * [Rut]Ellise extends her hand after her, but only stands there and watches her back disappear.

[15:06] * Maryn takes it and gives him a nod and thanks before starting to head back to the orphanage.
[15:07] <[Rut]Ellise> [He mumbles something about his accent being made fun of, then shrugs it off and goes back to polishing the counter. Ah, peace and quiet~]
[15:08] * Maryn arrives back at the orphanage and looks for the Matron.
[15:46] <[Rut]Ellise> [As she looks, a shout grabs her attention away from her search!]
[15:46] <[Rut]Ellise> --yet my honor compels me, hastens my feet onward, and my sword, to your wicked heart! In the name of the light, I shall not retreat this day!...
[15:46] <[Rut]Ellise> [The stage is miraculously (if precariously) repaired! The children are all seated again, watching the knight continue his fight against the evil dragon. The voice is unmistakable; Ellise dawned Maryn's costume herself so that the show could go on.]

[15:47] <Maryn> ...whos... donning the dragon suit...
[15:48] <[Rut]Ellise> [Yup, it's her, alright. She and the dragon (who's that?) trade blows on the stage while the children cheer, fully enthralled. Ellise spots Maryn and almost trips, but catches herself at the last second.]

[15:49] <[Rut]Ellise> Aah! Uh, t-the just must prevail!
[15:49] * Maryn goes over and sneaks in a seat, watching.
[15:50] * [Rut]Ellise just barely succeeds in hiding her embarrassment.

[15:51] * Maryn smirks, she crumbles and tears the paper, watching onward.

[15:51] * [Rut]Ellise is, however, still a silly drunk and fumbles her sword. It lands harmlessly in Maryn's lap.

[15:53] * Maryn picks up the sword and enters the stage in a surprising manner, almost tripping on her greaves.

[15:53] <[Rut]Ellise> [The children squeal and applaud Maryn as she climbs back into the spotlight! Ellise gratefully accepts the wooden prop.]

[16:03] * ThatDragon 's costume bursts open! A gigantic, blob-like shadow rises out of it, forming a spiked head and powerful two clawed arms.

[16:05] * Maryn pulls out her REAL weapon, her trusty Gungnir.

[16:09] * ThatDragon roars and turns to the children, too! the front row scatters, save for one with crutches, limping to escape! It picks her up in its sinewy talon.

[16:12] * [Rut]Ellise takes a quick swig of her bottle and grind her heel back to strengthen her footing.

[16:13] * Maryn focuses, making the tip of her spear glow.
[16:13] <ThatDragon> Rrrrgh... I'll show you... what your loyalty amounts to!!
[16:13] * ThatDragon prepares to smash the poor girl, who is now wailing desperately!
[16:14] <Maryn> Ellise I can't reach her in time!
[16:14] * [Rut]Ellise suddenly pulses with energy! She's atop the demon's head, and the one next to Maryn is a mere afterimage.

[16:15] * Maryn is making a break to save the girl---...and stops upon seeing Ellise on top of that hing.
[16:15] * [Rut]Ellise drives her bottle down into the monster's skull, sounding a resonating CRACK! It rears back and roars, dropping the girl!
[16:15] <[Rut]Ellise> Maryn, catch!
[16:17] * Maryn takes this moment and dives to save the damn girl, barely.
[16:17] <Maryn> ...phew. You ok?
[16:18] <[Rut]Ellise> [She nods, trembling.]
[16:18] * [Rut]Ellise hops down and hurries over to Maryn before the demon can recover to counterattack.
[16:19] <Maryn> GIve me a cover for just a bit Ellise!
[16:19] <[Rut]Ellise> Right!
[16:19] * Maryn runs off to put this girl to safety, probably inside the building... god i pray the monster don't attack the building.
[16:21] * [Rut]Ellise aims the open end of her bottle like a crossbow! The mouth seems to distort, veiled in black mist, and four long tentacles erupt from it. They latch onto the demon, holding it at bay.

[16:22] * [Rut]Ellise strains to keep the ornery beast from lashing out.
[16:23] * Maryn leaps in just on time to slash the beast away from Ellise.
[16:25] <Maryn> Sorry! Sorry!
[16:25] * ThatDragon sways back, wounded and off balance. Ellise is able to overpower it, thanks to Maryn's offensive, and holds it fully paralyzed.
[16:25] <[Rut]Ellise> Ehehe, don't worry!~ Splatter it good for me, okay?
[16:26] <Maryn> Does it have a weakpoint?
[16:26] * Maryn looks frantically.
[16:26] <[Rut]Ellise> Yeah, it hates having it's head split in half!
[16:27] * [Rut]Ellise grins snidely. Even under the circumstances, she's still her~

[16:27] * Maryn laughs as she leaps with the help of her spear, polevaulting her onto the Demon's head, yank her GREATsword out and leap down slashing through the demon's "head"
[16:30] * ThatDragon screeches and breaks into foamy pieces when it takes the blows, losing it's monstrous form. Ellise's tentacles still hold it, and immediately retract into her bottle, dragging the shadowstuffs inside!

[16:33] * [Rut]Ellise struggles with her bottle as if trying to keep it contained! She falls onto back... and a glob of darkness blasts from the opening, straight up! It explodes in the air like a firework, painting the entire sky in a colorful spectacle!

[16:33] <[Rut]Ellise> [The children shout with delight, applauding madly!]

[16:34] * [Rut]Ellise wipes her brow, sitting on the stage floor.
[16:34] * Maryn sighs...she almost forgot the handicapped girl and goes to bring her back outside.

[16:45] * [Rut]Ellise releases her, wobbling somewhat.
[16:47] * Maryn talks to her and apologizes for the trouble and is ready to not recieve compensation.
[16:48] <Maryn> [She nods and gives her thanks as well for keeping the children so entertained. She mentions that she has never seen them that happy before.]

[16:51] * Maryn pays her farewell and to the kids as well.

[16:53] <Maryn> Since we sorta messed up.. I turned down our reward. But... I can at least return the favor to you for letting the kids have a good time like that.
