- On 11/16/2022 at approximately 7:00 AM, I, Deputy Carlin #2253, responded to Deputy
- Bozarth's location as cover for a suspicious vehicle located at 9255 Zotos Dr., Highlands
- Ranch, CO 80129.
- Upon arrival, Deputy Bozarth advised me that she observed the suspicious vehicle in the
- parking lot; when she made contact with the driver, a strong smell of burnt marijuana was
- coming from the car. Deputy Bozarth was going to perform a standard field sobriety test
- on the subject for driving under the influence of drugs.
- We approached the vehicle and asked the driver (identified as Graul, Alexander - DOB:
- 08/08/1988) to step out of the car. He complied. Deputy Bozarth then explained that he had
- the keys in the vehicle ignition, and it was running, indicating he had complete control of
- his car. Due to the strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle, she was going to
- have him perform a standard field sobriety test (SFST). Deputy Bozarth advised Alexander
- that the SFSTs were voluntary. Alexander refused to perform the tests. After the refusal,
- Deputy Bozarth detained Alexander pending a DUID investigation, myself and Deputy
- Majernik assisted with placing cuffs on Alexander. Deputy Bozarth asked if Alexander was
- willing to do a blood draw which he stated yes.
- I transported Alexander to UCHealth hospital, where a phlebotomist drew blood from
- Alexander. Deputy Bozarth and the phlebotomist packaged the evidence for analysis.
- I transported Alexander from UCHealth to Douglas County Jails and processed him for
- booking.
- This case will be closed by arrest.
- My BWC was recording during this investigation and may contain additional details and/or
- statements not included in this report.
