"What's up with the Aesir, Loki? What's the news from the elves. And why have you come alone into the land of the giants?"
Loki landed beside the ogre. "There's nothing but bad news from Asgard, andnothing but bad news from the elves."
"Realy?" said the ogre, and he chuckled to himself, as if he were extremely pleased with something he had done and thought himself remarkably clever. Loki recognised that sort of chuckle. Somtimes he did it himself.
"Thor's hammer is missing," said Loki. "Would you know anything about that?"
