Aika utilises a rare form of kekkei genkai known as <strong><span style="color:#f8dce6;">Shōton</span></strong> (<span style="color:#f2a7c3;">晶遁</span>, literally meaning; "<span style="color:#f8dce6;">Crystal Release</span>") the actual elemental composition of which remains largely unknown, however it is alluded to Shōton may be comprised of Doton due to its weakness to Raiton which suggests that the aforementioned Earth Release may be a component. Aika, when utilising Crystal Release, can convert any matter into crystal, from physical material to moisture in the air, allowing her to turn anything into a weapon. This extends to other physical natures, rendering earth, water, and wood useless against it. When used on living creatures, targets can be crystallised down to the cellular level, imprisoning them so long as the crystals are in place and shattering them if the crystals are struck, killing them. Crystal Release users can also manipulate pre-existing crystals and crystalline structures.

Ninjutsu is the most nebulous of the three, and may most simply be described as anything that is not genjutsu or taijutsu. Most ninjutsu require chakra and hand seals, but this is not always the case since the mere usage of weaponry qualifies as ninjutsu. The huge range of ninjutsu's uses is illustrated by its several sub-classifications: medical ninjutsu, reincarnation ninjutsu, space–time ninjutsu, barrier ninjutsu, sealing jutsu, and cursed seal jutsu. Most ninjutsu use shape transformation, which deals with controlling the form and movement of the ninjutsu, while nature transformation deals with changing the ninjutsu's physical properties. Ninjutsu that use nature transformation tend to follow a naming convention of their nature type followed by a more specific name. With practice and experience, certain ninjutsu can become second nature to a ninja, allowing them to perform it at will. Aika has yet to display any proficiency in elemental ninjutsu outside of her crystal release, however, her teachers are hopeful that she will soon develop an affinity for one of the natures and use said nature to diversify her load out.
