  121. Backstory: Pixis didn’t go outside much growing up. Her parents had fled, abusing magic to tell them if the location they were fleeing to would be invaded. Her life was generally one of ‘don’t go outside and die’ and ‘pack your bags, we’re moving’. And so Pixis grew up reading and daydreaming, doing whatever she could to amuse herself.

  123. Eventually, she started learning magic. Her parents taught her. She took to it wholeheartedly to stave away the boredom. The introduction of magic only made her daydreams far more interesting, while simultaneously making her more restless, giving her a false sense of strength.

  125. Eventually, Pixis gave in to her restlessness. It expressed itself in a desire for knowledge, and so she began rooting through her parents things, looking for spell books and spell scrolls and magic items and so on and so forth. And she got what she was looking for, in a way. There’s a reason a wizard can’t just jump from 1st level material to 9th level material, which Pixis quickly learned as visions of a chaotic, twisted, nonsensical but almost understandable future. What she saw haunted her, and she began to struggle to comprehend it all, pulling from what she knew best, daydreams. And so a conspiracy theorist was born.
