  1. Rosethorn was early for once, as the class trickled in she simply gave them nods or small waves while tapping away at her phone. By the time the bell rang almost everyone was already here, and the rest arrived soon enough that she didnt' bother to lecture them. "Today is another essay, atleast in a manner of speaking. Pretty hard to fail and it's quite simple. You'll have half the class to write your answers to a couple questions, and then you'll pass your paper to neighbors and vis versa to learn a bit about eachother."
  2.
  3. "I'll be grading them based on honesty primarily since this is ultimately meant to build bonds between you more than anything. When you grow up and become fully fledged heroes your fellow classmates will be the ones you can most readily call on for assistance when a villain is too much for you to handle alone. I help out some of my old classmates pretty frequently. These bonds will last the rest of your lives."
  4.
  5. She hands the papers stack by stack to the students in front, to pass to those behind them. The questions are as simple as it sounded like they would be. Perhaps boring yet again but the possibility of learning about fellow classmates atleast had some appeal.
  6.
  7. Question one: Do you look up to any Pro Heroes? What about them seems like a shining example of a hero to you? If you find them lacking, what do you think they should do different?
  8.
  9. Surprisingly, there was even an example answer which showed Rosethorns own opinion on the question. 'I always felt that heroes were too focused on themselves and the grand accomplishments they pulled off. So I set out to encourage the average citizen to be just a bit more heroic in their own right. To do the right thing, to support those in need, To be true heroes.
  10.
  11. Question two: You all have somewhat of an idea about your classmates quirks from seeing them in action, working together, or just speaking. What are some nuances to your quirk you think others should know? The most important part of teaming up with another hero is knowing the strengths and limitations of eachothers quirks, so describe yours.
  12.
  13. Rosethorns power is largely the same as its known to be, she can use speech to enhance and weaken those who hear her. With the obvious weakness of not being able to hear her making one immune to her quirk. There's a brief cooldown between applications on the same person but they can last for an hour, offering a sizable boost to strength and endurance or vis versa at the cost of stamina. After the hour is up she has to pay back what she borrowed. Normally its a minor inconvenience, but when she taps into her reserves and goes Plus Ultra it can leave her extremely weak afterward.
  14.
  15. Question three: What role do you find yourself most suited for? Offense and directly fighting or assisting others in fighting villains? Defense and being able to protect civilians while doing battle with a villain? Rescue where you can assist those who have been hurt or trapped and need help getting to a safe location? Support where you mostly just assist other heroes before or after they go into the field? Social work where you work on detaining a villain without resorting to violence and desturction simply talking them down? Recon work where you gather information and scout threats without necessarily wanting to step into the limelight yourself? The generalist who can do it all thanks to their quirks broad uses?
  16.
  17. Rosethorn is primarily a Defense focus, she can make civillians durable enough to escape even the most dangerous of villains. She's something of a Generalist though able to perform most roles without issue thanks to the broad nature of her powers.
  18.
  19.
  20. Question four: Which of your fellow students do you think you could work together with the best? Who do you want to get to know and havent had the chance?
  21.
  22. Rosethorn works with everyone still working from her old class equally, she's very adaptive to other people and so gets along with them all fairly well. Teamups are a very important part of being a top ranked hero and those who can't work well with others usually don't make it into the big leagues.
  23.
  24. The final question: What sort of hobbies do you enjoy when you aren't working on school work or training? Afterall this is the biggest part of developing a social connection to your fellow students. Maybe you'll turn out to have enough people to form a book club, or a anime watch party or other social gathering. What are your favorite things to do?
  25.
  26. Rosethorn spends a lot of time on social media encoruaging people to help those in need and all that, praising those who aren't fully fledged heroes for donating ot charity or feeding the homeless or whatever. She also likes to look at funny images and stuff. Some of her favorite things are sewing and fashion, reading, cooking and comfortable spa days.
  27.
  28. The essay was at its core just a 'get to know eachother' paper like any other school might have, but a bit more longer and in depth. It was as boring and forced as any other instance of the same kind of thing, but it was clear that it meant a lot to Rosethorn that the kids got along and she was trying her best to try and build some connections between them.
  29.
  30. "Alright, you can begin. Whenever you're finished you can pass them to eachother and talk amongst yourselves, try to make some *new* friends, not just the people you already know everything about."
