  1. Hi everyone. This is definitely an unusual post compared to the things that I usually tweet about, but I and plenty of other accounts in the FengQing fandom are getting sick and tired of the behavior from R, so I’m here to add to the negative experiences I have with R.
  2.
  3. Just to preface, I have decided to make this post because I want people to be aware that there are always multiple sides to a story, and that I want to at least have the opportunity to share that. I don’t care what kinds of opinions are made after all sides are considered, but I want to at least give people the opportunity to hear me out before making a decision about me and my character.
  4.
  5. These issues are something that I fully believe should be discussed privately, and I find it ridiculous that this needs to become public. However, I, along with Elle and other individuals, do not appreciate how R is still talking about old issues and spreading misinformation to people not even involved. Clearly, R is not interested in settling matters privately, given the sheer amount of vagueposting she has been doing for the past few months, which is why I am inclined to make this post in the first place.
  6.
  7. To start off, Elle’s thread mentioned that R made assumptions about who she is affiliated with. One of the people R assumed Elle is affiliated with is me. Elle and I, although Twitter mutuals, are not even close friends?! Elle is not in any of my servers, and we do not talk much other than the few projects we both agreed to work on together. I have a lot of respect for Elle and appreciate the things she does for the FengQing community, but just because we are mutuals and work on projects together does not mean we are close friends. This applies to a lot of other mutuals I have as well. I really only have a small group that I am close with, and the majority of us have moved on from the FengQing fandom at this point.
  8.
  9. R has made plenty of assumptions about me based on a few interactions I’ve had with her friend group. One of the assumptions she made was that my friend group, including Elle (even though she is not in my friend group), called her racist. I am here to say that I have never called her a racist, and I am highly curious to see the kind of evidence she has of me saying that. Both R and I are people of color, and it is equally baffling to me that I would call another POC a racist, the same way R is baffled that I would call her one. Whatever kind of evidence that R has, I am more than happy to discuss it with her and clear up any misunderstandings, if there are any.
  10.
  11. Secondly, one of R’s friends and I got into an online dispute over a misunderstanding. Since it was just an online dispute, I never took any personal offense from her friend. Her friend had the impression that I was being aggressive and malicious, and I apologized to them (with the help of a third party) because I did not intend to come off as aggressive. Since then, I have long forgotten about the situation because I believed that all things were settled, but it’s clear that R is still pressed about the matter on behalf of her friend. I cannot say if her friend feels the same way, but I can say that I am personally over it, and it is pointless to stir up old matters that have long been resolved. If R’s friend still has concerns with me, they are free to talk about it to me directly, rather than letting R speak on their behalf.
  12.
  13. Thirdly, a friend of mine sent a questionable message to one of R’s past friends. I have seen mixed opinions on this message from a handful of my mutuals, but what matters is that my friend’s actions are not representative of me as a character. I never said that I agreed with what my friend said to R’s past friend, and it’s annoying that R would assume that I condone that kind of behavior just because I am close friends with them. I actually ended up having a private discussion with my friend about the message, and we cleared up any misunderstandings. This is why we are still friends—because we communicated with each other!
  14.
  15. Similarly, she has also blocked a different friend of mine because he was affiliated with me. I do not believe that just because someone is friends with me, they are completely banned from being friends with anyone that I had negative interactions with. I am not a representative of my friend, the same way he is not a representative of me. We are two different individuals, and it saddens me that simply being friends with him is preventing him from making more friends. Considering that R is doing the exact opposite of that—going around and telling people who don’t even know me about past negative experiences—is irritating, and I hope that people realize that it is entirely possible for people to be involved in multiple friend groups.
  16.
  17. All of these situations are things that I am willing to talk more in-depth about. If you are curious, you are free to DM me here or on any other socials I have on my Carrd. I can also provide any proof needed to back up my experiences, if requested. I just want to spread awareness and share the truth behind my experiences and what actually happened. R has been actively ruining many people’s experiences in the FengQing fandom, and I’m sick of having to ignore the things that she has been saying about me and my mutuals. Again, you are free to come up with your own conclusions, but making assumptions without knowing the full story and forcing people to pick sides is exactly what causes cliques to form and fandom-ruining behavior.
  18.
  19. Thank you for sticking with me throughout this entire post. I hope this clears some things up, and I hope that we can leave this situation behind us and move on. We are all here to talk about FengQing—do not ruin what is left of this fandom.
