- As no other reliable sources could be found, I sadly dug into the SSSniperWolf/Omegle saga myself, hoping to maybe debunk the story which would settle the matter. The video this is about has not been archived on archive.org, but I found a 25-second screen capture of it. I have no reason to believe the screen capture wouldn't be faithful to the original, but I have to consider the possibility the uploader could have theoretically messed with it. That being said: it shows SSSniperWolf doing.. pretty much what has been stated. In the Omegle chat there's a line that says the girl "may be using a simulated webcam", but I don't know how reliable that detection even is, but keep reading: that barely matters.
- I also found another video from SSSniperWolf, this one was actually archived so I can be sure it wasn't tampered with after upload. In this video, a woman on Omegle flashes SSSniperWolf, seemingly unasked. I say seemingly because these videos are full of jump cuts. Here we see no "simulated webcam" notice, but I wouldn't take that as an absolute guarantee it wasn't simulated. Of course it's YT so stuff is censored. She says "im carina 19 and u?" which presumably means she is saying she's 19, though she looks older, but probably not a minor.
- In another instance (also archived), SSSniperWolf gets a few boys to take their shirt off.
- There are various plausible explanations for what we see, and none of them are particularly good for Shelesh:
- A. Everything is real, everyone involved is actually an adult and Shelesh carefully obtained permission from every single person and verified their age by checking their driver's license or similar official document. This is almost laughably implausible given the nature of Omegle, and according to jacksfilms who contacted various creators she doesn't even ask permission for her reaction videos.
- B. Everything is real. Um.. that would be bad. Even when the subject is an adult and the video censored, that's not okay to upload to your YT channel without permission.
- C. Everything is fake. She set up a fake Omegle environment (if that sounds implausible: I think I could do it) or doctored the videos. Everyone we see, at least for the segments where people flash, is an actor.
- D. From what I understand, based on statements made by Shelesh herself, people use simulated webcams to show footage of other people. Imagine some guy showing footage of a girl on their simulated webcam to trick some lesbian on Omegle into flashing. It's plausible various encounters Shelesh had on Omegle were of this nature. It begs the question: how do these guys obtain the footage of a flashing girl? To answer my own question: by recording the footage of girls on Omegle they tricked into flashing, possibly mixed with footage obtained though sites like Chaturbate. It should be obvious that such footage, even when censored, is not okay to share with millions of followers on your YouTube channel.
- Just for funsies: whatever the truth is, showing webcam footage (any footage, controversial or not) without permission on your YT channel likely constitutes copyright infringement. There's no fair use here.
- Now, I have no idea what the truth is. For all I know the answer could be "E. All of the above". What I'm not seeing is a plausible innocent explanation. But you be the judge.
