  1. "Oh, welcome Stede - right, since this is going to be a project.. We need to decide what materials we're going to use and specifically what we're looking for.
  2.
  3. So detail your request for me and tell me, what you have at your disposition." In that instant from his lab coat the scientist took out a notebook, which he would use to write everything down.
  4.
  5. That is, before 1-A arrived at the city.. And to this the scientist gave a nod, before sending automatons to collect the resources that he gave to him.
  6.
  7. "Welcome, 1-A.
  8.
  9. Report and also, explain your situation regarding the giant named Happy, such as the fact that you both consider yourselves as 'partners in crime'." Apparently the director heard certain things around.
  10. (Acantho)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. [12:25] Stede nods to Acantho, already having the possible materials in mind.
  14. There's a quick worried glance given to the manmade giant when 'Happy' was mentioned, but he opts not to focus on that and instead stick with the reason he came here fore.
  15.
  16. "You're the builder, so the blueprints and specifics of how to built a leg gun to replace my current gun I'll leave up to you. That said? I have a fair assortment of materials to use. Besides the expected ores like mithril and orchicalcum? I have arcanium to be used as a base, Auguria, Austeria… And in particular? Viridum."
  17.
  18. An emphasis on the latter as Stede lifts a finger up.
  19.
  20. "Viridum is a metal that may be most suitable for a prosthetic built for offense. I have a Viridum ring for example that that tends to singe my finger on physical contact, but there won't be such contact if the Viridium is built in inside the prosthetic."
  21.
  22. An idea that soundsreasonable enough for Stede. If Viridium hurts the physical body, wouldn't it make sense to use on a non organic limb that is attached to what remains of the body instead?
  23.
  24. "Lastly? There is a certain pistol I'll like to add into the design if it is possible. It may not be as suitable for me as a primary weapon anymore, but could be quite useful if it is modified and altered into the gun leg."
  25.
  26. Stede's hand then reaches for the pistol on his hip to pull it from the holster, handing it over to Acantho for examination. The same gun he had shown the man of science years prior.
  27. (Stede Vane)
  28. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  29.
  30. [12:25] "Asphalt reported nothing in particular as of lately. Asphalt thought about collecting more crowns to deliver towards you, Creator. Asphalt also feels much more different as time passes by. Even though Asphalt is not human, it feels envious that it isn't strong enough to compete with the others. Asphalt wants to grow stronger. Interacting with humans made Asphalt developed the idea of seeking compassion, through relationships. Happy is the first subject to Asphalt's simulation in an attempt to interact and socialize. Since Asphalt is comfortable with a Giantess such as Happy, it might've complimented her with such label, "Partners in Crime", to mimic what characters describe their acquaintance in a few novels."
  31.
  32. Asphalt shuffled towards Acantho. Its mechanical voice rang towards the duo, endlessly sharing the knowledge it accumulated with a long explanatory squabble. Information that needs to be collected by its' Creator, as requested. Each word spilled from the Golem, revealing all it could've remembered the past week or two.
  33.
  34. While things were the same as it always was, when the Undead forced hadn't been active, there's none else Asphalt could provide that's anymore important.
  35.
  36. "Asphalt apologizes to Creator, unless the Creator feels envious of Asphalt's relationship with Happy?"
  37. (Asphalt 1-A)
  38. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  39.
  40. [12:35] Camino de Camino says, "Ah, so this is where you'd ended up."
  41. [12:38] Stede Vane says, "Aye."
  42. [12:41] Before turning his attention to the automaton, the scientist listened to Stede's words - a moment was taken to ponder what was being said, before starting to draw the schematics.
  43.
  44. As expected.
  45.
  46. "Right, we can re-model the weapon and extract the necessary components from the magitech to create an internal base for it, connecting it to a Viridium cylinder that will potentiate the weapon's magical capabilities.
  47.
  48. This one will need to be isolated as expected, so I recommend getting mythril for the outside of this weaponry - as well as some orichalcum for the rune system.
  49.
  50. Now if you ask why mythril.. Well, it is because that for something of this scale - one need the minimal protection, as this will have great damage to your health if not taken care of, that is, if we do not craft some isolation to the Viridium!" That's why, he made sure to get something to insulate the viridium from his own weapon - the Gravtion.
  51.
  52. Otherwise, Acantho would be found unconscious more often than usual..
  53.
  54. "We can also add an elemental core to it if desired, what's your magic affinity?" He asked the pirate, leaving him to ponder and then turning his attention to 1-A.
  55.
  56. Who appeared to be trying to develop.. emotions? Strange.
  57.
  58. "Your designation is not that, don't forget that your main function is to defend this village.. So focus on that, not on relating to other beings.
  59.
  60. Just when it is necessary, be it for the acquisition of coins, materials or for training and upgrades. But the last one should be reserved for me, as I don't want anyone messing with your circuitry." His voice echoed, almost like a lecture to a young son who had done something silly, "Anyway, anything else to comment on?" He asked, giving the option to continue the present topic.
  61. (Acantho)
  62. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  63.
  64. [12:41] {Item} You drop Sandwich.
  65. [12:42] {Item} You drop Graviton.
  66. [12:43] {Item} You picked up Graviton. Dropped by Acantho..
  67. [12:48] Stede listens intently to Acantho's words, considering that project will end up being as personal as his leg.
  68.
  69. Because it will literally be his new left leg!
  70.
  71. "The idea of turning the Virdium into a cylinder sounds like a good idea. As for protection? I also happen to have a fair amount of Tyrium too. Could work as another protective cover maybe, or to help in channeling the mana out of the barrel like Vvelsii's gun design."
  72.
  73. Stede adds his own thoughts, pulling his pistol back to have it rest over his lap in the meantime.
  74.
  75. "I am a fire magi myself. We could potentially use the bomb shards we got from the invading goblins as a core too instead of regular fire crystals- Once I'll get the arm blade finally ready for trading with Camino." A brief tilt of his head is given to gesture towards his crewmate.
  76.
  77. "That said? I should not that I do not plan on using the gun leg as my... Primary weapon, so to speak. I simply want to have it as an alternative mean of fire together with an appropriate gun in my arms."
  78. (Stede Vane)
  79. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  80.
  81. [12:49] "Asphalt would not stray from its original purpose."
  82.
  83. Stood still as a statue, devoid of any expression, lacking the body language in response to the scolding of its Creator.
  84.
  85. Maybe what Asphalt had done was 'silly' and 'ridiculous' in Acantho's standards? Asphalt knew what he was getting at, and to an extent, understands where he's coming from. Regardless if it was right or wrong, the Golem comprehended that there's no time in the world to focus on concepts relating to human beings.
  86.
  87. It was given a single task since the day it was created from scratch.
  88.
  89.
  90.
  91. (Asphalt 1-A)
  92. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  93.
  94. [12:56] "Tyrium wouldn't work, it has the ability to drain the potency provided by Viridium and that's not what we want. We need to isolate and concentrate for a purpose.
  95.
  96. That's why Mythril would be the best choice." He commented before listening to the rest of what Stede had to offer, "Oh, right.. And yes such an object could be used for such a purpose, be used as core.
  97.
  98. However, we will then need more orichalcum to relocate the magitech system that will make the leg work.. And maybe some copper, for internal mechanisms.
  99.
  100. Are you able to get such things? Mythril, Orichalcum and Copper." The list of materials was given, before the being raised from his seat.
  101.
  102. From behind the bench he took out.. A gatling gun, which was placed over it and the side of the crate opened. The interior was then demonstrated, the complex rune system, such as a chamber of nyeshk.
  103.
  104. "Here's an example of what I'm talking about, inside this one chamber there is something similar to what is planed, made of Viridium, that enhances the magical capabilities of this weapon.
  105.
  106. And we would do something similar for your leg, as said." And with that explained, the weapon was closed, before he finally turned to the golem.
  107.
  108. A smile was opened by the creator, who then spoke.
  109.
  110. "Glad to hear that." And now, he relapsed into silence to wait for Stede to say something else.
  111. (Acantho)
  112. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  113.
  114. [12:56] {Item} You drop Graviton.
  115. [13:02] {Item} You picked up Graviton. Dropped by Acantho..
  116. [13:03] Stede puts a hand on his chin as Acantho explained why Tyrium won't work, nodding along in agreement with the one that has far more experience.
  117.
  118. "Understood, so Tyrium is out. So-"
  119.
  120. He lowers the hand away as he starts to think and attempt to memorize it all. He has no notebook at the ready, so the only place he got to remember it all is in his head.
  121.
  122. "Mythril, Orichalcum, Copper, Arcanium, and Virdium… How much of each material will we need with each, and will it be possible to use suitable replacements if need be? I do not have a large stockpile of everything, but I still have the Auguria and Austeria as potential substitutes."
  123.
  124. Stede asks, using the time Acantho is going to take answering his inquiries to look over at the gatling gun with a fair bit of awe in his eyes.
  125. (Stede Vane)
  126. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  127.
  128. [13:11] "Alright.. For the main structure, it will be five ingots of mythril and five of Virdium. As well as the core, which will be what you mentioned could be used.
  129.
  130. For the inner part, mechanism and runic system, we will need three bags of orichalcum powder and ten copper ingots. Bring some ingots of Auguria, these have regenerative abilities and can be useful for this." Now, the rest seemed to be discarded entirely.
  131.
  132. Would not be used in this.
  133.
  134. "That should cover everything, now for the cost of this project.." A pause was made, "We'll discuss after completion, depending on how much work this takes.. It might be more expensive." And so, profitable for the scientist.
  135. (Acantho)
  136. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  137. Stede puckers his lips at the mention of five Viridium, just a touch under the desired amount.
  138.
  139. "I'll make sure to collect the Viridium. We might have some spare at the crew's more exclusive stash, so I could borrow some to reach a five total instead of the three I have currently."
  140.
  141. He says, pausing a bit to consider what Acantho said about the cost of the project.
  142.
  143. "I'll be honest, the idea of reaching a conclusion on the cost only after the project is done is slightly worrisome. How about you'll give me an initial estimation of the cost then? We can negotiate final pricing based on that afterwards."
  144. (Stede Vane)
  145.
  146. "I'll be waiting for the resources." Now, he wanted a... Price? Well, "Alright, what about twenty thousand coins?" His knowledge of magitech wasn't cheap, let alone..
  147.
  148. What would they be doing here! Yes, this will be a load of work and Acantho needs some funds for his city.
  149. (Acantho)
