  1. Okay, here’s the deal. I’m sorry if any one of you take this harshly but I’m setting the whole ordeal straight. People have noticed favoritism amongst staff, and noticed that some staff tend to not do their job. I understand a lot of this responsibility is new to some, me being military it’s 2nd nature. As a staff position you are expected to be professional from the get go. If you want to make friends so be it. But, when it comes to your job in the clan, no one is your friend. There’s little clicks forming in the clan and I’m not okay with that. Sides are being taken because favoritism. I’m not going to get into it, but hear me out.
  2.
  3. As a staff member, do the job you’re assigned to do. If someone comes in invites, you’re professional, proper grammar. You’re only purpose in the invite channel is to guide them into joining, and how to do so. You WILL NOT pm them and start to be buddy buddy off the bat. This defeats the purpose of your rank and role. There is a rank structure set for a reason. If someone has an issue, the first person it should be brought to is a community manager. This is the first step in the chain. If it cannot be solved there, it goes up to moderators, and so on. Koala should not be getting private messages right off the bat from issue. If an issue is brought up to a higher rank, it should come from the rank below them telling you that they couldn’t solve it.

  5. Presentation of yourself: my goal for this clan is professionalism as a first impression. We want people to join and think “wow they’re organized, no drama, no issues and I can accomplish stuff in game here.” That’s why they stick around. When drama starts forming because staff are friends with a member and picking favorites, that’s when shit goes down hill.
  6.
  7. So, when someone joins the discord, and applies to join, you will be professional and handle their joining accordingly. Nothing more, nothing less. You won’t PM the new member off the get go. The BOT already does that. Use proper grammar and sentence structure please. It makes us look good and it sets the tone for you as a staff member. They will respect your rank that you’ve earned. We want our reputation to be “that’s malfeasance, they got their shit together and know what they’re doing”.

  9. Present yourself in general chat as staff as well, some banter is cool, we’re humans it’s what we do, but remember that you represent this community. People notice that.
  10.
  11. Lead by Example: Use proper channels and text channels, they are there for a reason. I need to work on this too. Keep media inside of media. Lore in the lore tab, etc.
  12.
  13. As for me, I try to keep this as democratic as possible, that’s the way the world works, please don’t take advantage of that. I love you all, but I do call the shots. I’m sorry if I make a decision that I feel is right for the community as a majority. I like conversation, hearing what you all have to say, but during that conversation, set your feelings aside, set friendships aside, and think about what’s best for Malfeasance as a community. Not what’s best for some of your friends within the clan. Staff is not a popularity contest, though most of you are liked amongst the clan. Staff is earned. Staff is a job, unfortunately.
  14.
  15. Lastly, I want you all to know that I do sincerely value all of your friendships, I don’t mean to be harsh, but something had to be said. You guys are awesome, and I hope you can come to an understanding with this. You’ve all helped so much. Represent us as a Community accordingly.
