[This post is about the Racing+ mod, but the same troubleshooting steps can apply to The Babies Mod or any other mod.]

Are you having a problem with The Racing+ mod where things are not working correctly? (e.g. other characters other than Isaac are not getting the D6, custom challenges don't do anything, there is error text that the "Racing+ mod is corrupted", etc.)

This is likely because the game failed to install the mod properly from Steam and some files are missing. This kind of thing is common because the Isaac code that copies files from the Steam directory is really bad.

To investigate whether or not files are missing in the Racing+ mod, you can do the following:

1) First, open up Isaac's "log.txt" file, which is located at:
   C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+\log.txt
   (Don't open it in Notepad, as the line endings won't be correct. Open it instead in Wordpad, Notepad++, etc.)

2) Do a Ctrl+F for "error", you and might find something like the following:

[INFO] - ERR: ...of Isaac Afterbirth+ Mods/racing+_857628390/main.lua:39: module 'racing_plus/globals' not found:
    no file 'resources/scripts/racing_plus/globals.lua'
    no file 'C:\Users\[username]/Documents/My Games/Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ Mods/racing+_857628390/racing_plus/globals.lua'

3) This error message is essentially complaining that the "Globals.lua" file doesn't exist.
   Go look inside your Racing+ mod directory, which is located at:
   C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ Mods\racing+_857628390

4) In this folder, there should be a subdirectory called "racing_plus", and inside of that, a bunch of files, including the "Globals.lua" file. Is it missing? If so, then the mod failed to properly install, and if you get all the files properly installed, then the problem should go away.

You can manually fix it with the following steps:

1) Look in the Steam mods directory, which is located at:
   C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\250900

2) See if there is a subdirectory called "857628390". This is the directory for the Racing+ mod that was downloaded by Steam. Go in there and see if  the "Globals.lua" file exists, and so forth.

If it does, then copy the contents of the:
   C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\250900\857628390
directory to the
   C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ Mods\racing+_857628390
directory.

Now, close and re-open the game to see if the problem is fixed. If so, then the problem was that the game failed to copy over the contents of the mod directory from Steam (which is common). If it did not fix the problem, head on to the next section.

If the mod directory in the Steam mods directory was missing or corrupted, then Steam itself is to blame for incorrectly downloading the mod. Try doing the following, in order:

1) Exit the game (if it is open).

2) Unsubscribe from the Racing+ Mod on the Steam Workshop.

3) Delete the Racing+ mod folder in the mods directory, located here:
   C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Binding of Isaac Rebirth\mods\racing+_857628390

4) Delete the Racing+ mod folder in the Steam mods directory, located here:
   C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\250900\857628390

5) Exit Steam (if it is open).

6) Launch Steam.

7) Launch the game and go into a run.

8) Exit the game.

9) Exit Steam.

10) Re-subscribe to the mod on the Steam Workshop.

11) Open Steam and watch the mod download. Don't do anything until it is fully downloaded.

12) Launch the game.

13) Go into the Steam mod directory for Racing+, located here:
   C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\250900\857628390
   Confirm that the "racing_plus" subdirectory is there along with all of the files.

14) Go into the normal mod directory for Racing+, located here:
   C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ Mods\racing+_857628390
   Confirm that the "racing_plus" subdirectory is there along with all of the files.

15) If it is, you are done - Steam downloaded the mod properly, the game copied the mod properly, and now you can play.
