Somber #6

[18:26:25]	Somber	The companions had embarked on their long journey around to investigate an attack by Solace on Spark town. On their way easy, they stopped across the shopping mall and found a member of their party in a horrible way. Near mindless and clearly violated, Rowan walks in a daze, trying to get close enough to Wanderlust to 'service' him. There wasn't any means
[18:26:50]	on hand to try and help her here and now. All they could try to do was reach Headless before something worse came across them.
[18:36:54]	There wasn't much else to be done, so travelling further east, they past more ruined and blasted buildings when they came across more greenery. It wasn't anything even close to the lushness of the blight. In fact, the greenery looked like it was struggling to grow and thrive; like it too struggled with its own phage. Several old stumps lay along side the
[18:37:08]	road they followed, for no other reason then it went east.
[18:39:00]	Shimmershy	bit her lower lip nervously as they continued on, doing her best to look inconsequential to anyone who might be observing.

[18:42:29]	Somber	As the five move along, Shimmershy sees something.... odd. It's a pumpkin sitting on the edge of a stump. What's odd is a strange face has been carved into the front of it.

[18:46:12]	Shimmershy	shuffles a forehoof nervously and glances back and forth, then to the pumpkin again. "Um..." She looks down the road briefly, there wasn't any sign of anypony around right now either. Pausing briefly to get a better look at the odd gourd left beneath the cloudy sky.
[18:46:24]	Night_Wind	couldn't manage to do anything but look out of place, so instead she tried to keep Rowan safely away from Wander with a wing tucked around the abused mare's body.
[18:46:52]	Edna_Stonetalon	points at the pumpkin "What's that thing?"
[18:49:42]	Somber	Something blue pops out of the stump, the pumpkin clutched between its hooves. It bring it down on Shimmershy's head. The pumpkin imbeds itself on her head, leaving her wearing a pumpkin helmet. They catch a glimpse of a blue colt... or maybe filly... as she disappears into the stump once again.
[18:52:20]	Night_Wind	just blinks a few times at the odd spectacle. "Ahhhh...perhaps a small section of the Mad Wood survived?"
[18:52:25]	Wanderlust	is simply trying his best to avoid Rowan. The party wouldn't look highly on him if she wound up doing anything regardless of the circumstances. He's far too pre-occupied making sure he's a fair distance from her that he doesn't even notice the pumpkin until Shimmershy is wearing it. He considers drawing his rifle for a second but thinks better of it and just gives Shimmershy
	an odd look.
[18:52:37]	Edna_Stonetalon	stands there slack jawed "What the fuck just happened?!"
[18:53:28]	Shimmershy	lets out a surprised yelp, flailing around in confusion a few moments and stumbling to one side, struggling to see out of the cut pumpkin before finally getting her head pointing right again after a few moments. "What was that!?" For the first time her voice really raised outside of singing as she just sortof shuffled in place out of total bewilderment.
[18:55:13]	Somber	A stump next to Edna begins to rustle as well and a moment later a jackolantern pops out, and two little blue hooves. Whoever they are, they're also wearing a pumpkin on their head too.
[18:56:02]	Edna_Stonetalon	whips around "Hey! What the hell are you doing?"
[18:56:59]	Somber	"Yi!" they squealed as they launched the pumpkin into the air, lobbing it right at Edna's head!
[18:57:30]	Shimmershy	shuffles around in blindness, having somehow managed to turn the pumpkin all the way around on her head. "H-hey! S-stop!"
[18:59:07]	Somber	Edna dives away, but there's a loud plop noise as a huge pumpkin lands atop Night_wind's head, her purple horn sticking out of the pumpkin's eye hole. The small blue pony that threw a pumpkin at Edna disappears into the stump. A second pony disappears as well.
[18:59:35]	Night_Wind	Ack!
[18:59:37]	Edna_Stonetalon	dodges the pumpkin "What the fuck is wrong with you?! And honestly who throws a... whatever the fuck that was. Honestly"
[19:00:21]	Night_Wind	flails around a bit until she thinks to adjust the pumpkin with her horn.
[19:03:28]	Shimmershy	waves her forehooves in confusion. "Help! What's going on??" Stumbling around in her blinded state trying to find anypony else who could help her.
[19:04:33]	Somber	A second later two more pop up, lobbing pumpkins at Wander and Edna, with almost supernatural aim at their heads!
[19:05:31]	But Edna dodges a second with almost supernatural speed!
[19:06:09]	Edna_Stonetalon	dodges the second gourd "Enough of this!" and takes to the air, only flying 20 or so feet up, looking for the source of this... oddness
[19:07:55]	Night_Wind	is barely able to see as well and bumps into Shimmer and rebounds off her sitting down hard. This unfortunately means she loses her grip on Rowan.
[19:08:43]	Somber	Looking down from the air, she can see all the stumps are hollow and apparently connected to tunnels. One pops up and tosses a pumpkin on to Rowan, who doesn't object. Then one of the pumpkinhead ponies looks up and shouts, "Put it on, ya dummy!" And throws it at Edna before disappearing again. Then there comes a sound from near by.... a shrill, unnatural
[19:08:57]	whinny that pierces the air.
[19:11:51]	Edna_Stonetalon	facetalons "I picked a bad day to quite drinking" and dives down to the stump, yelling into it "Hey! What the fuck is that noise?!"
[19:12:03]	Somber	Wanderlust tosses it back, and the pumpkin hits the pony in the head, shattering the pumpkin that he wears. The colt beneath gasps, feels his exposed head, and shrieks. "Ahhhhh! The headless horse is gonna get me!" And disappears down the hole.
[19:12:27]	The shriek sounds again, louder and closer.
[19:13:31]	As she yells into the hole, a pumpkin shoots out and lodges itself on her head.
[19:13:38]	Wanderlust	spins around, watching the party pelted with pumpkins as if to add yet more strangeness to an already impossibly strange place. He catches one heading for him out of the corner of his eye and grabs it with his magic and throws it back. At least they weren't dangerous.
[19:14:29]	Edna_Stonetalon	stumbles back from the surprise of suddenly being a pumpkin head
[19:15:46]	Somber	Then, from between two trees to the north emerges a massive black equine. It's twice as large as a pony... and missing its head with a jagged red streaked stump. It lets out a shriek as it seems to look at the five gathered friends.
[19:15:58]	Night_Wind	does at least manage to hear something clearly shouted by either a mare with an odd voice or a foal, and it sounds like a cry of fear. "Wander, perhaps you should just let them hit you?"
[19:17:15]	Wanderlust	just stares at the massive pony-ish creature. "Y-Yeah... maybe..." he says with a shiver and an involuntary step back.
[19:17:51]	Shimmershy	continues to be blinded by the pumpkin, shuffling around back and forth in confusion, the shrieking and yelling nad her friends complaining didn't help any. "What's going on!? What's that sound? We should get out of here!"
[19:18:06]	Edna_Stonetalon	trips and lands on her back "Alright you fucking... " and then sees the giant headless pony "I hate this place" and takes out her rifle
[19:18:08]	Somber	A pumpkin pops out of a stump and lands in Wanderlust's hooves as the huge black horse let out a scream and started to charge.
[19:18:10]	Night_Wind	turns toward the shriek and the eye that can still see clearly out of her pumpkin goes wide. "Oh dear...that...that should not be possible."
[19:20:24]	Wanderlust	jams it on his head, adjusting it to be able to see as best he could. He felt a little annoyed despite the situation that it looked like it was cringing like it had just been on the recieving end of Edna's teasing.
[19:22:36]	Somber	Unbelievably fast, the huge headless horse races towards the companions, hooves flaming, tail smoking. Two scythe like blades emerge from its shoulders.... but when he jams the pumpkin on his head it stopped short. The blades retracted to its shoulders and it let out another scream, hooves pawing the air, and then raced off to the south at break neck speed.
[19:23:15]	Edna_Stonetalon	"Well that wasn't strange at all"
[19:23:41]	Somber	A second after the two pumpkin wearing foals pop their heads out of the stumps. "I got three!" one yelled. "Did not!" countered the other. "That one doesn't count. He put it on himself!"
[19:24:00]	Shimmershy	shuffles in place, finally reaching up to turn her pumpkin around enough to see out as the headless creature rushes off. "Um... Uh... W-what was that..?" She rubbed her forehoof against her other foreleg and shrank down nervously.
[19:24:40]	Somber	The two looked at Shimmer. "The headless horse, duh," said a filly. "Yer not too smart, are ya?" said the colt.
[19:24:47]	Wanderlust	sighs with relief, trying to not show how badly he's shaking. "Okay... I think I'm going to need a break from this insanity soon..." he mumbles.
[19:25:52]	Somber	The two look at each other. "He thinks this is nuts?" the filly asks. "Must not be from around here." the colt said solemnly.
[19:26:03]	Edna_Stonetalon	facetalons
[19:26:37]	Night_Wind	abruptly remembers to breathe once the fell beast turns and runs away. "Th..that was a bit closer than I care to come to such a creature."
[19:27:41]	Somber	"Well, you take that pumpkin off, you'll see him pretty darn quick," the filly said as she pulled out a half empty bag that bulged with gourds.
[19:28:17]	"Y'all don't look like Shockers. Y'all from Solace?" The colt asked as he straightened his pumpkin head.
[19:28:28]	Edna_Stonetalon	sighs and facetalons again "Any one see where Rowan went?"
[19:28:30]	Night_Wind	swallows uneasily. "So...would I be correct in assuming we are near the town of Headless?"
[19:28:49]	Somber	Rowan was standing right there, pumpkin on her head.
[19:29:10]	Wanderlust	tries to facehoof, but there's a pumpkin in the way. "Well, at least we know why it's called that now..."
[19:29:37]	Somber	"Yup. Right over the rise there. Y'all don't look like traders. Actually... I don't rightly know what y'all are..." the filly said.
[19:29:38]	Edna_Stonetalon	facetalon yet again "Such a clever name for a town"
[19:30:27]	Somber	"Well... used ta be called pumpkin hill... but after the headless horse showed up..." the colt gave a shrug.
[19:31:01]	Edna_Stonetalon	"Oh goodie he's new too. I'm starting to /really/ not like this place"
[19:31:34]	Shimmershy	steps forward and shuffles a little. "W-well we're traders. Or were. But I guess now we're sortof... A little lost?"
[19:32:43]	Somber	"Nah nah. He's been round fer fifty er sixty...er... seventy... well... a while..." the colt said. "Anyway, I'm Pumpkin Seed. That there is Pumpkin Pie. If ya ain't meanin trouble, we can show ya the way. Since y'all ain't raiders."
[19:33:44]	Night_Wind	sighs. "We are, for lack of a better term, adventurers from outside of the Appleanta region. Our caravan crashed over by the mall when it was taken by the Mad Wood, and...well...we've only found one survivor. Her mind...it's seen better days." She gestures to Rowan with a wing.
[19:34:52]	Somber	Pumpkin seed pulled her helmet off and looked at Rowan a moment, her little blue face haunted, then puts it back on her head. "Come on. Mebby Granny can help her."
[19:36:31]	Night_Wind	nods and begins to follow the foals. "I would be so happy if you could. Rowan...well, she was brilliant once."
[19:36:47]	Shimmershy	shuffles after Pumpkin Seed, "W-well anything you could do to help would be good. This... This place hadn't been very friendly since we got here..."
[19:37:13]	Edna_Stonetalon	leads Rowan along with them "Hope they can help"
[19:38:04]	Night_Wind	interjects, "Spark town was at least welcoming once they knew we weren't from Solace."
[19:38:41]	Somber	The two trot side by side to the north east. "Well, duh. Wasteland." That way there was more and more greenery, but it looked different from the blight. This stuff seemed more natural. There was also an enormous pumpkin ahead... but instead of being natural, it was a pumpkin shaped building. Beside it was a large parking structure that had been
[19:38:47]	Wanderlust	nods. "I do hope so..." he says, adding with a mutter under his breath, "for my sake as well as hers, Edna is going to kill me if this keeps up..."
[19:40:46]	Somber	converted into a garden of sorts, protected by any rain fall. A half dozen or so ponies, all wearing pumpkins, either tend the large pumpkins growing in the shade or else were keeping an eye open for travellers. "Pumpkin hill" was writen on the massive gourd, but it'd been spray painted over with "Headless Horse". But since Horse was lower, the most people
[19:41:35]	could see from a distance was "Headless." A Blue stallion stepped out with a jackolantern cutie mark. "Seed! Pie! Who'd you find?"
[19:42:19]	"They say they're adventurers, Poppa." the colt said, "But I think they're just idjits. Almost got their heads lopped clean off."
[19:43:23]	Shimmershy	steps forwards to offer a forehoof, still somewhat nervous about the poor reception in Spark Town. "Um. I'm... I'm sorry we caused your foals trouble. We we're working our way around the wheel, trying to get a feel for all the peoples who live here... B-but it seems like we didn't know enough about what was dangerous." She lowers her pumpkin covered head.
[19:43:34]	Wanderlust	snorts with irritation. "Maybe if you had explained /before/ assaulting us with pumpkins..."
[19:43:47]	Night_Wind	sighs, "We're new to the area. Shimmer, perhaps you should make the introductions?"
[19:44:11]	Somber	"Well that wouldn't had been much fun, would it?" Pumpkin seed said with a snort.
[19:44:38]	Edna_Stonetalon	facetalon yet again "Damn kids"
[19:46:16]	Edna_Stonetalon	"You lot didn't happen to have a group come through here with a bunch of salvage recently did you?"
[19:46:30]	Shimmershy	raises her head again and nods in agreement to Night Wind's words. "We only arrived a few days ago, so we still don't know much about anyone here. S-so anything you could tell us would be good. And... Um... If you have anything to trade we might have some spare supplies or caps."
[19:46:42]	Night_Wind	tsks and hisses, "Eddie, those 'damn kids' likely saved our lives. Perhaps you and I could have flown high enough to escape that creature, but..."
[19:47:11]	Somber	Pumpkin Pie tugs the stallion's tail with her hooves. "Poppa. One of em needs granny. She's like momma." The Stallion blinks and looks at Rowan, then turned and said, "Come on in. Name's Pumpkin Vine. And yeah, but they went straight through. Bunch of plantation pony scum."
[19:47:53]	Edna_Stonetalon	"We're lookin for them. Can you tell us where they were headed?"
[19:48:45]	Shimmershy	shook her head. "Plantation ponies..?"
[19:50:12]	Somber	"Going on up to the Plantation, I reckon. Probably there now. If you catch em, hope you give me a bloody reckonin. Fucking Corns..." He said as he stepped inside. "There's a place further east. Big place. Call it New Unicornia or some shit. Bad place. Bad." He pulled off his pumpkin to reveil rugged, shadowed eyes as he looked at the others
[19:50:23]	Night_Wind	sighs and since no one else will, she offers to make introductions. "By the way, my name is Night_Wind. The two unicorns are Wanderlust and Shimmershy, and my dear griffon companion is Edna_Stonetalon. She acts mean sometimes, but she's a real sweety."
[19:50:26]	Somber	seriously.
[19:51:25]	"Nice to meet cha." He said. The inside of the pumpkin looked like it'd once been some kind of bakery transformed into a settlement.
[19:51:30]	Edna_Stonetalon	smiles and rolls her eyes at the comment
[19:51:57]	Shimmershy	follows the older pony within, struggling a few moments to remove her pumpkin before finally pulling it free. "O-oh. I remember the name. And that they were dangerous. But I don't know much else..." she placed the pumpkin down at her forehooves. "S-so what do they do..? It doesn't sound like you get along well with them at all..."
[19:53:22]	Somber	"They act like Unicorns shit gold and piss moonshine. Work earth ponies like animals." He looked sternly at Edna. "Got a few of you folks too. Blast any one that takes them on. Every now and then they try and raid us... but the Horse makes quick work of em.
[19:54:08]	Wanderlust	blinks. "Wait, that monster is /protecting/ you?"
[19:54:40]	Somber	He gave a shrug. "If y'all want to call it protectin."
[19:54:50]	Edna_Stonetalon	"I was just about to ask if you have tried killin that headless pony thing but I guess wearing a pumpkin on your head is worth the protection"
[19:55:21]	Shimmershy	frowned and tilted her head to one side, tapping her chin a few moments. "S-so the headless horse has been here a long time..? I've seen ghouls before, but never something which could survive cut up like that..."
[19:56:38]	Somber	"Yup. Dunno what it is exactly. Folks say it's the headless horse. I reckon that's what it is. Granny might know more. she was here when it showed up years back." He walked over o the counter and picked up a plate of pie. "Want a bite?"
[19:59:14]	Edna_Stonetalon	shrugs "Sure I'll take a piece"
[20:00:11]	Shimmershy	smiles a bit up to the pony. "W-well some food wouldn't be bad. We've been walking for a long time, after all."
[20:00:27]	Somber	He tossed her a slice. "My wife's policy... always give folks a free bite since we got some to share." He passed a second one to Shimmershy.
[20:00:36]	Night_Wind	nods at Shimmer's words. "Even a Canterlot ghoul dies once its head is removed. I can't imagine what strange spell would be needed to preserve even the semblance of life...unless perhaps it's actually a cleverly disguised pre-war robot?"
[20:01:26]	adds, "And yes, pie would be delightful."
[20:01:59]	Somber	"Dunno. Was around before I was born. Lops the head off anyone not wearin a pumpkin." He gets a third slice.
[20:02:00]	Edna_Stonetalon	eats her piece of pie "Mmm... this is really good"
[20:02:07]	Shimmershy	reaches out with a forehoof to collect the pie and begin eating it quietly. She didn't know much about technology, after all. "... maybe it's a Ministry of Peace attempt to keep ponies alive..." her voice quiet and worried.
[20:03:09]	Edna_Stonetalon	has a little trouble eating her pie because she forgot to take the pumpkin off, it's adorable to watch
[20:03:39]	Shimmershy	perks up substantially at the taste of the pie. Carefully eating more of it bit by bit. Wanting a chance to savor the taste.
[20:04:34]	Somber	Pumpkin Vine looks at Edna skeptically. "Um... ya'll can take the pumpkins off inside. It don't come inside."
[20:04:35]	Night_Wind	gratefully accepts the slice of pie and levitates it up to take a dainty bite...then nearly drops the slice. "Oh my!" Tears spring to her eyes.
[20:07:01]	belatedly remembers to take off her pumpkin helmet as well and blinks back tears of joy. "This is one of the best things I've ever tasted! I think I like it better than beans, and I love beans!"
[20:08:04]	Shimmershy	carefully finishes her slice of pie. "That's... Amazing. Y-you keep them safe from the rain, s-so the phage doesn't get into them..?" She was a little nervous about that prospect, but had to hope.
[20:09:24]	Wanderlust	pulls the pumpkin from his head quickly. "Good to know. I'll have a piece of pie too if you don't mind. It looks better than anything I've had in a while."
[20:10:59]	Somber	"Mhmmm..." he said with a little nod and small smile. "Been told it 'taint as good after the first slice, but glad you like it." He looks at Rowan. "She okay?"
[20:11:06]	Night_Wind	almost purrs with each bite of perfectly spiced pumpkin pie goodness. "Who made this pie?"
[20:11:54]	Shimmershy	looks up towards Rowan and shakes her head. "She got lost in the Madwood. We only found her recently and she seems to... Well... She's not right. Broken inside." She lowers her head sadly. "We were hoping someone here would be able to help."
[20:12:13]	Somber	"Granny Pumpkin did." He nodded towards the back of the store. "She's a marvel with the stove."
[20:12:30]	Edna_Stonetalon	blushes and pulls the pumpkin off her head, then goes and finishes her pie
[20:13:21]	Wanderlust	takes his piece and sighs happily. "I haven't had sweets this good since I left Tenpony... you could make a fortune there with these."
[20:13:37]	Night_Wind	turns to Rowan and saddens a bit. "Her name is Rowan and...yes, what Shimmer said. If the experience is never as good after the first time, I think to be kindest to her we should wait until after Granny Pumpkin does whatever she can for her."
[20:13:56]	Night_Wind	"Er...wait to give Rowan her pie, I mean."
[20:15:04]	Somber	His eyes widen and then he trotted to the back door. "Granny. Can you-" A pot came flying out that he barely ducked. "Consarn it Granny! We got-" He dodged another pan. "Now damnit! Y'all listen-" And a cast iron frying pan smacked him in the face and knocked him on his back. A second later a wrinkley old periwinkle mare poked her head out and waved
[20:15:25]	a pot at him as she shreeched, "Told ya to stay outta my kitchen!"
[20:16:56]	Night_Wind	at first blinks in shock then quickly hides a smirk behind a hoof. "Ahem...excuse us please, dear lady. Firstly, you are the one who baked that wondrous pie?"
[20:17:31]	Shimmershy	eeps, backing up in surprise at the sudden thrown pots. "Um... Uh... C-can... Can you help our friend..?" She looks towards Rowan worriedly.
[20:18:41]	Edna_Stonetalon	watches on, slightly amused, keeping an eye on Rowan making sure she don't Wander off
[20:19:15]	Somber	The blue mare peered at Night_Wind and then fell to her knees! "Wooot! Princess Luna done come back fer a second comin! Sweeeeeeet princesss gonna take all us good ponies away!" Then she paused and peered at Night_Wind. "Wait a second.... yeeeeeer not Luna!" She jumped to her hooves. "Yer a Luna imposter ya'are!"
[20:21:05]	Edna_Stonetalon	"If Fumbles here was your Princess Luna I'd eat my hat"
[20:21:46]	Night_Wind	stumbles back and falls on her rump waving her fore hooves. "No, no, not an imposter! I'm not like that one over at Solace! My name is Night_Wind, and...and...I just wanted to say thank you for the best slice of pie I've ever had. Oh, and also what Shimmer said." She gestures at Shimmer and then looks worriedly at Rowan.
[20:23:10]	Wanderlust	chuckles at the stunned stallion with a frying pan-shaped bruise rapidly darkening on his face, but sobers up quickly as the conversation goes back to Rowan and her condition.
[20:23:17]	Somber	"How daaaaareeee you. Impersonatin Princesses! Why back in my day, we were respectful folks not goin round impersonatin princesses. Y'all aught to be ashamed. Hrmph!" She picked up the cast iron pan and put it on her head like a hat and then trotted back into the back. From the floor the stallion groaned, "Granny's wits might be a little bit mushed."
[20:24:33]	Pumpkin Seed rushes into the kitchen. "But Granny. They got a mare what ate the mad seed! She's just like Momma, Granny!" A second later the old mare popped her head out again and peered at Rowan.
[20:24:43]	mad weed*
[20:25:12]	Night_Wind	whines and sinks to the floor with her hooves over her face. "I'm sorry. I can't help how I look."
[20:25:17]	Shimmershy	bit her lower lip and hung her head. "Um... I... I could try talking to her..? Th-there's been a lot of changes outside the cloud..." She looks up again as 'granny' came back, folding her ears back nervously.
[20:26:23]	Somber	"You. Bring her back here. I'll see if I can't whip up somethin fer her." Granny said, rather vaguely indicating at a point equidistant between Night, Shimmer, and Edna.
[20:26:55]	Edna_Stonetalon	nods and leads Rowan into the kitchen
[20:28:01]	Shimmershy	looks towards the others and moves to help guide Rowan into the kitchen. She wasn't sure how well this would turn out, but they had to try something, right?
[20:28:10]	Wanderlust	walks to Night_Wind and pats her on the shoulder. "You don't need to apologize for being an alicorn, that old mare is just a crazy and thinks the only alicorns goddesses. Or that's what I'm going to assume she was thinking anyway."
[20:29:00]	Somber	The kitchen was half kitchen and bottle collection. "Mad weed... damn mad weed. Even before them blights, there was mad weed. Damned stuff. Might have a cure... hmmmm..." she said as she went from one bottle to the next. Some she shook out the contents into a hollowed out pumpkin and others she passed up. Many looked right nasty. Then she frowned
[20:29:51]	and said, "well piss on my head and call me Goldielocks... I'm outta bell root... and some Sancroflax wouldn't hurt none either!"
[20:30:30]	Night_Wind	whimpers and stays where she is. "I know, but...the worst part is that part of me...part wanted to yell that I was better than Luna. I know I'm not, and it was only a small voice, but...I don't want to encourage that voice any."
[20:31:01]	Shimmershy	looks briefly to the others then back to the old lady. "Um.. Is... Is there anything like this which could be done for us to help..? Anywhere nearby those things might grow?" Biting her lower lip nervously.

[20:31:36]	Somber	Vine sits up and rubs his head. "Yeah. Don't fret none. Granny once thought I was Prince Blueblood."
[20:32:52]	Bell weed's up north a short ways. Near the mountains. Looks like a bell. Shouldn't be hard to find. But Sancroflax... now that's tricky. Probably have ta get it off them there Unicorn ponies. Too bad neither o yer's a unicorn."
[20:33:07]	Night_Wind	winces and shakes her head. "Don't say that! We are me-...I am merely a pony...and not a very good one. I wish Mother was here!"
[20:34:09]	Shimmershy	goes a little cross-eyed looking up at her horn. "I... I could talk to them..." She sighed and sunk her head a little. "Though I'm not sure they'd like me much."
[20:35:21]	Somber	"Nah. If ya ain't a unicorn, they think yer scum. Even yer feathered friend there would be lucky ta get three road apples outta em." she said as she started mashing up the pumpkin with her hooves.
[20:35:35]	Wanderlust	sighs, wishing he had spent his time studying psychology instead of learning to shoot. "Sorry, but I still believe that. Just because you aren't a "goddess" doesn't mean you're beneath them. If she was so perfect Equestria wouldn't be a wasteland."
[20:35:44]	Edna_Stonetalon	pat pats Shimmershy "Don't sell yourself short Shimmer"
[20:38:05]	Night_Wind	whines, "Then think how much worse it would be with me in charge!"
[20:38:10]	Shimmershy	glances towards the others then back to the old pony, biting her lower lip. "I... Um..." She shuffled her hooves a little bit. Edna's words and patting was nice, looking up worriedly.
[20:39:18]	Somber	"I'll give her this. Might help a bit. But if you really wanna unscramble her, I'll need Bellweed fer sure. Sancroflax ifin yer really keen on helpin her."
[20:40:17]	Wanderlust	groans, failing miserably at trying to explain what he meant. "No one is asking you to. I'm just saying you shouldn't sell yourself short. You're a wonderful pony and should be proud of who you are."
[20:41:21]	Edna_Stonetalon	"Could she stay here while we go looking for this stuff? We can't be looking after her at all times. And she's been trying to... service ol Wander here since we found her"
	Shimmershy	sighs quietly. "I'll... Um... I'll try to help get the sancroflax if I can..." She looks towards the others. "Um. How far is it to this Unicornia place..?" Back towards the old mare.
[20:44:28]	Night_Wind	shakes her head. "Oh no, proud is one thing I shouldn't be. It...doesn't suit us. Me. Not at all." Even so, she uneasily climbs back to her hooves and gives a small smile to Wander and Vines. "I'll...try to be a better pony though."
[20:45:26]	Somber	"Eh..." she waves her head to the east, "Thata way. Buncha snobs. Not far... always givin us trouble cause we don't got horns on our heads. Ain't sure how they'll take feathers and wings."
[20:45:34]	Night_Wind	glances back at her still blank flank and sighs. "As for who I am, I really only barely know that."
[20:46:26]	Shimmershy	fidgets a little, looking towards Wanderlust. "Um... D-do you want to go see them..? Or should I? I don't... I don't think we should take everyone. It could get dangerous, and messy." She sighed quietly and hung her head a little.
[20:50:36]	Wanderlust	gives Night_Wind a strained smile. "I think you're already a good pony, but if you can do better more power to you."
[20:53:12]	Night_Wind	smiles at Wander. "Thank you for such kind words even if I don't think I deserve them."
[20:54:14]	turns to Edna. "I believe I heard enough of that other conversation. Eddie, shall we go?"
[20:54:32]	Somber	okay. How do I made a side room again?
[20:54:51]	Edna_Stonetalon	puts her pumpkin back on "Mite as well"
[20:56:14]	Night_Wind	levitates her pumpkin back into place as well and prepares to leave. Just to be safe, she'll let Eddie do the navigating and just follow behind.
[20:57:31]	Shimmershy	picks up her pumpkin to replace it on her head with her forehooves. She'd have to remove it before they got where they were going.
[20:57:34]	Somber	Night_wind and Edna fly their way north; this close to the mountains, winds made the black haze swirl and bunch up, making it hard to tell how high it's safe to fly. The mountains ahead are streaked and stained black, and eventually they have to land because its simply too hazardous to fly further. The rocks at the base of the mountain have greenery growing
[20:57:46]	Wanderlust	gives Night_Wind a brief hug before he dons his own pumpkin. "We'll see about fixing that self esteem when we get back." He says as he turns to follow Shimmershy.
[20:58:11]	Somber	between the boulders, but it would be hard to find which was the one granny specified.
[20:58:50]	Edna_Stonetalon	"Crazy old lady said it was bell shaped right?"
[21:01:42]	Night_Wind	nodnods. "Yes, I believe that was what Granny said."
[21:04:04]	searches for all she's worth but with no luck. "I think we should have gotten a better description before we left."
[21:04:53]	Edna_Stonetalon	doesn't find any either "You're probably right Fumbles"
[21:05:22]	Night_Wind	looks at Edna asking, "Think we should go back and ask?"
[21:07:03]	Edna_Stonetalon	"Naa... give it some more time"
[21:07:19]	Night_Wind	nods and goes back to looking.
[21:08:17]	Edna_Stonetalon	shakes her head "Still got nothin"
[21:08:32]	Night_Wind	sighs and shakes her head an hour later. "I don't think this is working. The description is just too vague."
[21:09:55]	is getting weary after three hours like this. "I'm beginning to think it's hopeless."
[21:10:24]	Edna_Stonetalon	sees a /rock/ more next to Night_Wind "What the fuck! Fumbles that rock just moved!"

[21:10:54]	Night_Wind	blinks tired eyes and looks around. "A rock? Which rock?"
[21:11:15]	Edna_Stonetalon	points and takes out her rifle "That one!"
[21:11:58]	Night_Wind	peers owlishly at the rock. "It doesn't seem to be moving now."
[21:13:30]	Edna_Stonetalon	keeps her rifle trained on it "It moved I saw it. Come over by me"
[21:13:33]	Somber	Oh, but it was moving. And most rocks didn't have claws... or fangs... or eyes.
[21:13:53]	In fact, it looked like a large, hairless bear with a hide the same colors as the stones.
[21:14:52]	Night_Wind	eeps as the...thing moves in a rather un-rock-like manner, and the startled alicorn suddenly springs backwards flapping her wings in alarm.
[21:15:21]	Edna_Stonetalon	puts two rounds into it "SEE! Not a rock!"
[21:16:24]	Night_Wind	nodnods emphatically. "Not a rock! Very not-a-rock!"
[21:18:41]	Somber	Indeed. And it quite firmly claws at Night's flank to show its not a rock. It's a very hungry whatever it is.
[21:21:28]	Night_Wind	screams in pain as a claw opens up parallel gashes along her side. Whimpering in pain, she readies her alicorn shield, hoping she can get it up in time.
[21:21:35]	Edna_Stonetalon	shoots it some more "Have I mentioned I /hate/ this place!"
[21:24:01]	Night_Wind	nods. "I believe you have and I concur!"
[21:26:45]	Somber	The bear throws its powerful arms around nightwind, claws scratching and ripping her hide as it readies to bite its head off.

[21:33:08]	Night_Wind	squeals in pain and almost instinctively teleports roughly 30 yards straight back from the beast, her sides bleeding and her eyes wide with pain.
[21:40:41]	Edna_Stonetalon	fires two more rounds into the bear thing "Why wont you die!" only one hitting the thing before it charges her, thankfuly missing
[21:41:07]	Somber	It lets out a roar and sweeps its claws at her in response.
[21:43:26]	The final two shots blow out half its skull and it collapses in a gray, bloody heap.
[21:44:04]	Night_Wind	rushes over to hug Eddie and bleed on her a little. "Oh, thank you! That creature nearly got me."
[21:44:30]	Edna_Stonetalon	eeps "Fumbles you're bleeding on me!"
[21:44:57]	Night_Wind	blinks and backs off. "Oh...s..sorry, Eddie."
[21:45:36]	hangs her head and tries not to whimper from her terrible wounds.
[21:45:54]	Edna_Stonetalon	sighs and pulls out some bandages from her pack "It's OK. Now come here and let me bandage that up"
[21:49:18]	Night_Wind	nods unhappily and kneels down to make Eddie's job easier.
[21:49:57]	Edna_Stonetalon	goes about bandaging up Night_Wind's wounds
[21:50:20]	Somber	And curiously enough... two feet from where the bear lay were a number of small weeds with red bell shaped flowers....
[21:50:51]	Night_Wind	ruffles her feathers a bit then gives the griffon a nuzzle. "Thank you, Eddie. I don't know what I'd do without you. Oh, look over there!"
[21:51:47]	Edna_Stonetalon	gives her a little nuzzle back "Just returning the favor."
[21:55:53]	Night_Wind	beams at the griffon and swishes her tail. She opens her muzzle to say something, hesitates, shakes her head and instead says, "Let's get that darned plant back to the others, okay?"
[21:57:09]	Edna_Stonetalon	grabs up all of the plant she can find "Good idea. Lets go before more of those things show up"
[21:57:25]	is blushing slightly
[22:01:26]	Night_Wind	too seems a bit flushed as her telekinesis plucks plants alongside Edna. "I think that will do," she comments once there are just two left. "Let's leave these so hopefully more grow here soon."
