As a general rule go to the steam workshop set it to "Most Subscribed" then just go down the list subscribing to everything with 4 stars. You can probably safely avoid any map that has 3 stars or less.
Must have maps:
Practice Range map; All of the CSGO maps; Goldeneye maps; CoD maps; Battlefield maps;
!warning pavlov maps are rather big! (my workshop map folder is 52gb)
