  1. * Short basic Marisa deck guide *
  2.
  3. Example deck: http://i.imgur.com/0EXRUCO.jpg
  4.
  5. Explanation
  6.
  7. You want to run a lot of Master Spark and Gravity Beat because they are versatile cards:
  8.
  9. 1. Master Spark has invul from frame 8 until the end of the attack so it can be used to avoid stuff like Youmu 4card bluesword in typhoon, 6c --> Spark is an airtight string that can't be border escaped and does 2 orbs, you can also combo it off 6c fullscreen for 3k+ damage.
  10. 2. Gravity Beat has a lot of graze frames, a good vertical hitbox, and has a fast startup, which makes it very useful to antiair opponents that are using bullet cover or are spamming attacks at the top of the screen. Combo-wise, it does 100% limit on the last hit and gives you a lot of time to do okizeme;
  11. It also is very strong damage-wise, for example CH j8a (1 hit) j[C] Gravity Beat does 4.6k damage which makes it stronger than some 4/5cards.
  12.
  13. Luminous Strike is very good for blockstrings because it's tight off 6c and it makes d214 (broomride) safe on block, it also confirms pretty much off any hit but since it
  14. doesn't improve the damage of marisa's regular combos too much, there is no need to run too many copies of it since you already have Spark for blockstrings.
  15.
  16. Stardust Reverie always knocks down and has graze frames while the attack is active. You want 2 copies to add damage to your corner combos, or to get good damage + knockdown off a non-CH d214 hits.
  17.
  18. Blazing Star is unarguably worse combo-wise than Dragon Meteor (and it also is harder to confirm), but it is a very strong card for Typhoon and raw hits do a lot of damage, and since the startup is very fast and the attack itself covers a lot of space, you can use it as a pseudo-reversal.
  19. But be careful because good players will bait you into using it with a low flight, and then they will crouch it, which makes it whiff.
  20.
  21. This deck uses 1 copy of Dragon Meteor and Blazing Star, but if you want to run 2 Dragon Meteor instead it's fine. You don't want to run more than 2 5cards because most of the time you will need your meter to use Spark/Gravity Beat.
  22.
  23. Regarding skill cards:
  24.
  25. You only need 2 copies of Miasma Sweep because you don't use your DP in combos as much as a character like Youmu does, and since this deck has defensive system cards you don't need to draw it so quickly (and you only need level 1+ to make B version an actual DP)
  26.
  27. Witch Leyline (broomride) becomes faster at lvl2+, but what you really want is lvl 1+ to be able to cancel it on whiff and block. If you think you aren't drawing it quickly enough, running 3 or even 4 copies is fine.
  28.
  29. Meteoric Debris becomes faster at lvl 1+ and this makes your combos off 66a and 5aaa 5b easier, but it's not that important so 2 copies should be enough.
  30.
  31.
  32. FINAL NOTE: This is a balanced Marisa deck with tools to deal with most stuff, but she has other options that you can try, the only cards that should most definitely be in every deck are Master Spark and Gravity Beat, anything else can be swapped or removed but these 2 are a staple of every good deck.
