- [20:50] Floated to the edge of the cliff looking right and then left she'd take a breath before speaking aloud to no one in particular.
- "Watch'cha lookin' at?"
- (Ulyssa)
- [20:57] The small, hovering thing (for lack of a better word), shrouded in mist and smoke that seemed to meld with her body rather than just exist around her, seemed quite content with staring off in the distance and paying no mind to anyone in particular. No, she was fine idling there, cursing every possible name she could under her breath. Her arms were crossed, resting on the fence as she continued raging on silently.
- It was only disrupted by her arms periodically shifting states of matter from solid to gas and involuntarily phasing through the fence, and each time this happened she had to snap back to attention to stop her chin from making direct contact with the wood.
- It was during one of these semi-incorporeal periods that Ulyssa actually managed to snag her attention.
- "Nothing yet," she said, voice little more than a whisper. "But perhaps the Archon Lord will emerge from the depths."
- She... didn't seem to know who or what this 'Archon Lord' was at all. "...It's where a powerful, demonic sea snake would lurk, right?"
- Indeed, she did not know Eiphraem Kang at all, nor was she aware that he was in the immediate vicinity.
- (Est)
- [21:02] Looked at the, well, the ghost? Yes, that's what it looked like to the young girl. Were she not a child of the necromantic kingdom of Valmasia she might be put off by this fact. Yet, moving through undeterred she'd have a relaxed smile upon her features.
- "Well, I don't know about demonic but I know of a sea snake. Why'ya need them for somethin' important?"
- As she spoke she'd shift her focus over to the wisp-like girl. Her emerald gaze keen on hearing what they'd say. They didn't know much about ghosts but helping people was pretty easy. At-least when they weren't out to kill or harm people.
- (Ulyssa)
- [21:07] It likely would have been better if she was a ghost - but alas, she wasn't so lucky. From time to time her form was stable enough to reveal a white shirt, torn and bloodied in several places, but no visible injuries to the flesh - because, indeed, any flesh that would have been visible was instead a permanently fine mist.
- Whatever events had transpired before her arrival in Crafthold, they were most certainly borderline fatal; the only thing keeping her going was that she had reduced the most damaged parts of her body to a gaseous state. She was ghostlike to be sure - but very alive.
- "I have tribute to offer," she responded, gaze still firmly focused on the seas - perhaps waiting for the sky to turn black and the fearsome serpent she heard so much about to emerge from the depths of the water for a daily meal of sacrifices, "Because there is something I must do. But-" She paused, head turning to Ulyssa.
- She winced as she shifted, certainly proof that she was still a living being that could feel things. "...What do you mean?"
- (Est)
- [21:17] Watched the ethereal looking girl with no small degree of interest. It was a rather grim affair, the person looked to be in pain. She didn't know how it was they existed, shifting as they did. Yet, the world is a mystical place who was she to question it's wonders?
- "I'm just bein' cautious, I'm sorry. Please wait right here and I'll be back."
- After she'd spoken the young girl paused for a second, inching a bit closer to make sure the stranger could see them without having to move.
- "I mean 'dat, I'll be back promise."
- Once she'd spoken and made sure she was understood she turned around and floated over to the scene around Eiphraem. Not pushing to get in the way of the work being done to repair Alvi, simply off to the side.
- "When you've a moment sna- er, Eiphraem. 'Ders a girl who needs you pretty bad I think."
- (Ulyssa)
- [21:22] Eiphraem reads the body language, almost before it becomes anything Alvi might intend as a reality.
- He's there. His hand covers that shoulder, in spite of any charred bits of flesh or bile-like, coagulated and deoxidized blood might cling.
- "Please do not amputate anything unnecessary. I am detecting that it would be inefficient for an undead, as I am certain you know their soul is tied primarily through attachments to their flesh. I am not sure if this idea from some form of distaste and disgust in regards to whatever events have occurred..."
- "But, I apologize, Alvi. I am going to over-ride your preference on the matter. It would be to your detriment to avoid requesting that you do not permit as much of your flesh preserved as possible."
- The serpent speaks calmly, almost coldly with that unwavering, flowing tones that barely vary in term of emotional output. His slitted eyes stare with that same placid, stolid expression, though his head tilts.
- It makes reading deeper into it difficult, but his earfins are cupped forwards, as his cold grasp lands on the witch's good hand, dwarfing it.
- "Please. Proceed. You will cooperate and not sabotage this, correct, Alvi?" It descends into barely above a whisper. "We can converse once you are no longer feeling the discomfort."
- When Ulyssa speaks, however, his earfins bend backwards once more, though he stares at the undead determinedly until he has a reply.
- "Shizuko. Your offer is appreciated. As is your help and contribution, Ramsey. I wouldn't want to seize needlessly from either of you, however- I am certain if someone is here when we do not have myself on hand, those will certainly potentially save lives."
- "I can have Iosefi create another to replace it. We have a full set of limbs, but I am certain she can create another mirror from the set of this limb's sibling."
- "Ulyssa, I will be with you momentarily." He doesn't skip a beat- It's potentially unnerving the way he simply keeps speaking, likely over others responding to him already. It's an almost mechanical reply.
- (Eiphraem Kang)
- [21:45] Eiphraem Kang asks, "Ah- My apologies. Yes. Just a bit. Whom requires me?"
- [21:45] Ulyssa says, "I don't need you but 'dats just cause someone else needs'ya, 'dey looked in pain,."
- [21:48] Eiphraem glances towards the figure standing tall and intimidating- With the fairy on his shoulder and covered with a bit of the long-clumped blood of the undead on his right palm, he's a bit more mussed than usual. While eyes go to meet an- Eye, momentarily, he attempts to scan the crowd, looking for where Ulyssa had pointed him to get going. His coils slide and he moves swiftly, weaving through.
- (Eiphraem Kang)
- [21:50] Pointed in the exact spot she'd been standing before she'd left.
- "Care to move there? I think moving causes her pain."
- After she spoke she'd continue along, as if trying to perhaps explain the situation that she really didn't have a good grasp of.
- "She said she needed to see you. . . I dunno really more than that."
- (Ulyssa)
- [22:01] There was pain, but also drive. She'd not ask the Archon to come to her. No, that wasn't the dynamic between humans and demons. With some difficulty she shifted forward, the mist that comprised a good half of her body at any given time creeping forward before she herself did. With a small nod of thanks to Ulyssa, Est's abyssal black eyes fall on Eiphraem Kang for the first time.
- There's shock. Her eyes widen and she blinks just once, looking less like eyelids moving down then back up and more like a waterfall of mist crashing against her cheekbones and dispersing into the air, eyes perfectly visible the entire time. There's fear, too - but that drive never wavered. She came to Crafthold because there was nowhere else to go, and now she had her audience with...
- Well. The look on her face suggested Eiphraem was not the Archon she expected to see. As she had mused to Ulyssa just a short while ago, she was expecting a massive, serpentine sea dragon, emerging from the depths of the ocean with a screech that could be heard for miles. That's what her imagination conjured, anyway. This was a monster, certainly - and a large one at that - but not quite the sort she was expecting.
- And, in the span of five short seconds, Est revealed all the things she didn't know about Eiphraem. "O' great and terrible Archon Lord!" she began in the same intonation that the truly devout adopted when praying to their chosen deity, "I came from a village near Dawn, caught in the crossfire when Huangzhou attacked a few months ago. I think... I'm the only survivor, or one of the only ones," she told the seasnake, doing her best to make it quick so as not to waste the fearsome demon's time.
- Of course, "survivor" in this case was a term used quite loosely. Hovering just slightly above the ground, the tips of her exposed toes kept tapping against the ground and briefly breaking into mist at the first sign of even the tiniest bit of pressure. Where her heart should be, too, was merely a hole surrounded by a swirling tempest of thick smoke, converging on the empty point but not quite covering it. It was a sorry existence, but if nothing else it kept her alive.
- "I heard you awoke," she said, "And I know that demons grant power in exchange for..." her already-quiet voice became even quieter, trailing off until her mouth moved but no sound came out - just small puffs of visible breath, like it was winter.
- She already clearly knew nothingof Eiphraem besides small-town rumors; she demonstrated just as quickly she knew nothing about demons and pacts, either.
- "...I have tribute. Please-" Her tiny voice went shaky, and she slowly rose her right arm to the Archon, inviting him to... consume it? The girl quivered with fear, and each visible shake only expelled more and more smoke from her body. The more she shuddered, the less solid she became, so much so that even if Eiphraem really was the type to eat arms offered by children he'd only be chomping at condensed water vapor.
- "It happened again," she said even more quietly than ever, even lower than the average whisper to the point that it was nearly imperceptible. "Poison gas, more massacres, their own people..."
- "All the careless humans and warmongering magi in the world- in the west, the east- I need to- I can't right now, not as I am-"
- She paused, taking a moment to compose herself. She stabilized, quite literally. As her words became calmer, so too did her form become more human than aimless haze. "...Please."
- (Est)
- [22:15] The serpent's earfins fold back against his skull, blinking with large, dilated eyes, blackness taking up half of the color within. The diaphanous form of the desperate and damaged girl before him makes lips move soundlessly, a noise like a shrill slide whistle briefly emerging from the sides of his neck.
- There is a pause- One, two seconds.
- One of those brutal, oversized hands reach for her arm, gripping it...
- And making contact.
- Underneath his pressure and exertion, his will and command condenses her- Not entirely, but enough to gain traction. Water and humidity bent at his will, with his breath, and only barely with conscious thought or intent necessary.
- It would perhaps be an unpleasant, unnerving sensation of powerlessness over this, as for a moment, it might seem like he is making to accept her claim.
- Unless halted or stopped, one powerful yank tries to pull her closer, eyes darting to the wispy, gaping holes, his lips forming a gentle o, his brows furrowing. More than the simple shock of seeing an ally damanged, this was a baffling puzzle he had just been presented with.
- He speaks off to the side, as he continues listening, towards the strangely named lad as his head tilts, staring at the plight of the somewhat more corporeally challenged young lass in front of him.
- His nasal slits flare.
- "... How long have you been maintaining this state." His clawed grip doesn't dislocate, doesn't rend her apart like tearing apart a cloud of smoke, doesn't follow with the long canines within descending towards her- No, his voice is quiet, almost too quiet. It makes it sound like his words aren't a question, rather than demanding an answer.
- (Eiphraem Kang)
- [22:25] Floated out of the way, not wishing to cause any hinderance to someone who was clearly in desperate pain. She'd done her part, aided in their meeting of the Sea Snake. Yet, would it be enough? She thought for a second that it might not be enough.
- Yet even as she watched she'd feel a bit better it was nice to just help someone. Rather than have to fight as she'd been doing previously. This wasn't like before, it was simpler more clean. With a smile she'd watch, her curiosity present enough to see what was going on between the duo.
- As she watched she'd slowly start to feel a little better about herself and her own view of herself. She'd need to try and get out of Dawn and help people more often. For a second she stopped and thought about that.
