↝ PERSONALITY:

   ∘ CONFIDENT - one of the most confident people you will probably ever meet, despite being introverted. there's no stopping her from making her (god-awful but kind of funny sometimes not really) uncle jokes, or showing off her talents. it's hard to embarrass her as well, and she's quite shameless when she says that she's right. unafraid of making a fool of herself for the cameras, she's quite the variety queen.

   ∘ OPTIMISTIC/ENCOURAGING - the glass is always half-full for her, and she could also be considered the group's official hype woman-- someone who's ready to make sure you look on the brighter side of things if you need it. though she's not stupidly optimistic, she always tries to make sure that everyone thinks the best of everyday, no matter who it is. definitely someone to go to if you need either a pick-me-up or getting the little nudge you need to do something.

   ∘ STUBBORN - there isn't stopping her if she's dead set on doing it. yoojin will go to any length for something to be the way she wants it to be, whether it be a simple choreography or a decision. it makes her one of the perfectionist members in the group, and definitely one of the more serious ones when it comes to getting what she wants. will literally do ANYTHING to make sure things go the way she wants them, if it's important enough to her. also tends to become frustrated easily.

   ∘ COMPETITIVE - even if it's something small like rock-paper-scissors, there's no stopping yoojin from being fired up and wanting to win. though she will mostly keep quiet about it (not wanting to seem arrogant and all), it's incredibly obvious that she is competitive in the way she reacts to the outcome. it makes her quite the sore loser-- and an extremely loud winner since she ends up cheering really loudly-- but it's still funny.

   ∘ PROTECTIVE - something that she picked up from not only being the oldest in the orphanage but also her younger brother is being more than a little bit protective over people. it doesn't matter who you are, yoojin will probably end up soccer mom-ing you and worrying over you almost like a lion. she tends to snap if the person is a victim (and she's quite scary when she does). definitely a force yo be reckoned with.

↝ BACKGROUND: yoojin had been in foster care since she was a baby, growing up knowing only that her parents left her at the hospital. it didn't matter, apparently, that she was the only korean in the orphanage. as a child, she didn't really understand until she turned 9, and suddenly everyone around her was younger than her and getting adopted left and right. since she was the oldest, couples who were looking to adopt tended to look right past her-- but she kept her thoughts optimistic, making friends with every kid that came. watched them go with new people to love them. she was eleven when a couple finally found an interest with her. they had wanted a daughter, only to have two sons. so they had decided they would adopt, but didn't want to go through the whole process of teaching another baby. yoojin, as the oldest and most educated, had caught their attention immediately. they had raised her lovingly, and she immediately became fond of her new family, especially her little brother. they helped her adjust to the different culture of korea, seeing as she was definitely out-of-place with her american beliefs. as she grew up, she was influenced by all the talent around her; her new mother would sing as per request from any of them and taught them how every note should flow together. her new father would teach her how to move with grace when his job of being a neurosurgeon wasn't calling his name. and her brothers-- one older by three years and the other younger by one-- had influenced her as well. before she was scouted, her older brother would teach her everything he could about dancing, and is the person who encouraged her to pursue dancing. the youngest was incredibly into singing and, by the age of 13, was scouted for yg entertainment as he competed for the first time. she was proud, and though she wasn't able to tell him in person often, she would constantly show it whenever she could over skype or social media. her father had become suddenly too busy to teach her much, working more than eight hours and the pager that stuck with him like glue phoned for his presence too many times for her to count, even on his day offs. she was discovered by an sm entertainment recruiter at the age of 17, and cast into the company after her audition. even though it was nerve-wrecking at first, she was happy, being featured on their youtube channel and being able to share herself with other people. making new friends.

↝ TRAINING DURATION: 4 years

↝ EXPERIENCE WITH SINGING / DANCING:
   ∘ was part of her school's dance team that competed in multiple dance competitions, and more likely than not she would be the one that choreographed the routine. the team also performed in music festivals, and posted a lot of their stuff on youtube. they were actually quite popular, their channel having over 200k subscribers. they were mostly a hip-hop centered group, but they liked to occasionally step out of their comfort zone.

   ∘ lets him think that he's leading but she has a lot of control over what they do (but she does it lowkey)
   ∘ if she hears him sing (even under his breath) she'll immediately stop doing whatever she is doing and listen because she's very very in love with his vocals
