Despite the evidence of her eyes to the contrary, Yethanda refuted that she had been outmanoeuvred. The feeling did not last. It was replaced by another. Pain. It began as a warm sensation in her torso, and grew needle-sharp in seconds as she realised she had fought her last duel. And though she hated herself for it, cursing inwardly as her precious soul was released unto the warp and to She Who Thirsts, she cried out, as weak as the wretches she had once so gleefully culled.
