Low Tier

Low tier mains suffer from a psychological complex wherein they substitute the love and affection they should have received from their mother for the love of idiot crowd members who like to watch a Mario jab down-smash 100 times in a row because no one has the match up experience to know you’re supposed to di away.

The lack of stability in their family is reflected in their choice of character, because the need to be the underdog and the hero is counterbalanced by the fact that every shit-tier character has to play the game by being a lame-ass fuck. In the eyes of the audience, and in the eyes of the low tier main, they’re just a scrappy young kid up against a world full of mean marths and foxes.

What they’ll never admit is that the joy they feel isn’t from winning and improving, from the exhilaration of getting closer to 1st place in a tourney. The joy comes from the crushed expression on the face of local fox main #21 as he rubs his osteoarthritic hands and tries to hide from the crowd of people shitting their pants and puking on each other because the Mario player hit the same D-throw-F-smash kill set up for every stock of the match because Local Larry the Fox Main didn’t know that you weren’t supposed to DI behind, and the howling from the crowd of degenerate apes behind him kept messing up his tech-timing.

The low tier main displays his toxicity in subtle ways, such as when fox gets a wave shine infinite on link and the link player turns to the fox player and says “wow, fox is like, so broken” while the fox player tries to figure out what to do with the molten puddle of plastic that used to be his controller on the floor.

The Link player then goes on to hit an incredible up air->up air->up air->up air-> up air->up air->up air->up air-> up air->up air->up air->up air-> up air->up air->up air->up air-> up air->up air->up air->up air-> up air->up air->up air->up air-> up air->up air->up air->up air-> up air->up air->up air->up air combo on the fox player, turns around and says “did you guys see that?!?” Only to realize he’d been using that same move to combo fox for nearly 12 hours, far longer than anyone had stayed at the venue, even the person he thought he was playing.

Feeling vaguely cheated out of the satisfaction and ego boost that all low tier players feel they deserve when they beat less skilled players of top tier characters, the link player then goes on to reddit and posts a comment saying how fox is stupid and broken and ruins the game in one thread while also saying that link has the most unrealized potential in the game in another. Like seriously, he might be top 10. Nobody can see it though because not everyone was born blessed and gifted enough to see through the top tier ruse and realize that Link is actually the best character, but only when in the hands of me, LegendofBenjamin69, the ultimate link player.

Fox is still stupid brain dead no skill broken cheap bullshit character though
