  3. I left the castle at dawn, with an escort of 20 soldiers of the Royal Guard, my two ladies-in-waiting, Dame Seline and Dame Elaine, and my maid Mari. My husband, the King, thought it best to spare me the hardships of a siege, since this is where this war is currently headed. With a party that small, we should arrive promptly at Dragon's Keep, the most impregnable fortress this world has seen. I will miss my gardens greatly. Who knows what they will look like after those barbarians have been dealt with, now that I'm not here to tend to them. Nevertheless, I am the Queen, and everyone must sacrifice something in times of war. I shall remain strong and poised, and guide my subjects as honor commands.
