  6. PLEASE READ. *THE SITUATION AS OF 8th/APRIL/2017 @ 1510:* Everyone except Lesta is able to post to Google Plus the URL: http://lestanediam DOT blogspot DOT com
  7.
  8. 1) When you add a URL to a new Google Plus post a "preview thumbnail" gets generated. If I leave that in then the post *remains visible* to the public. For the moment that seems to be a workaround (though it isn't ideal and could change). In this presentation I removed that "preview thumbnail" not realising its significance. I only realised its significance later on when I experimented further. Just so long as my Google Plus posts contain a "preview thumbnail" the post will remain visible (any will do - even if its for a different website/URL).
  9.
  10. 2) I can write a simple post that works e.g., "This is a test". Then after posting that (and checking it is visible to the public) if I edit the post to include the offending URL *the post instantly becomes "hidden".* And so Google must be "scanning/checking" the post after each edit - detects the offending URL - and then hides the post.
  11.
  12. 3) If I edit that post again *and remove the offending URL* - the post remains hidden! This suggests that once Google has "flagged a post as needing to be hidden" it doesn't restore it to being visible again. _Once a post is "hidden" it stays hidden._
  13.
  14. 4) Including links from other people's "blogspot" (with or without a "preview thumbnail") does not cause the post to become hidden for me. In effect this is the equivalent of someone else writing a Google Plus post which includes my blogspot URL. It will work. *This means the "censorship" (or "specific glitch") affects my account only.*
  15.
  16. All of this started happening about ~24 hours ago. In a few days I'll check to see if it remains the case. However - if this isn't censorship and is "just a Google glitch" *then it's VERY SPECIFIC!*
  17.
  18. It could suggest that each/some of us are being - _or are going to be_ - prevented from writing certain things on the Internet. It also suggests that we are being set up such that there could be a hive of activity on a webpage or a video but you won't even know about it (and they won't even know you're there)! All because algorithms are automatically keeping certain people from knowing about certain other people.
  19.
  20. This could be a "noble solution" that ostensibly addresses the problem of "cyber bullying" - by removing victims from bullies so that there's no one for the bully to bully and the victim isn't put in the path of someone who might bully them! Of course - once implemented this can be used to silence genuine dissidents by preventing their message from reaching anyone who might be positively affected by it etc.
  21.
  22. *POSSIBLE EXPLANATION* (though unlikely). I have "VERIFIED" my "blogspot" with Google (I did this through YouTube as well as through "Google's Search Console". It could be that for some reason I am forbidden from linking to my own blogspot URL. Perhaps because I have done so "too many times" since the URL appears at the end of every post I write. (And - _just guessing_ - this is a new policy that has now come into effect etc.)
  23.
  24. And so if *YOU* have a "blogspot" URL (whether it's verified or not - though ideally verified) you could try writing a Google Plus post that links to your own blog. That would be the closest thing to reproducing the problem I have documented. Simply remove the automatically generated "preview thumbnail" (since [for now] that seems to let the post work) and check to see if it's public. Do you encounter the same problem I am having?
  25.
  26. However - that possibility is unlikely because I am still able to include the offending URL in posts which contain a "preview thumbnail". (Though - that "loophole" might be patched later on if this is actual censorship and not a mere [specific] "glitch".)

  31. *UPDATE 9th/APRIL/2017 @ 1325*: The "censorship" - _or very specific "Google Glitch"_ - is now affecting my "Disqus" URL as well so it's not just limited to my blogspot.
