  8. What Affection does for E-Mail |

  10. Affection triggers the sending of e-mails. From all my testing so far, I've
  11. found the following levels of affection are used when triggering e-mails.

  13. 250 Affection
  14. 275 Affection
  15. 300 Affection
  16. 350 Affection
  17. 400 Affection
  18.  
  19. Affection is absolutely necessary from the beginning of e-mail chains to their
  20. very end and also necessary for ending e-mails. Actually, affection's sole role
  21. in Part 1 appears to be the triggering of e-mail. Without high enough levels of
  22. affection from a character, you will never get to see their ending e-mail and
  23. e-mail chains. However, ending e-mails also carry the stipulation of having the
  24. final boss beaten, of course.

  27. What E-Mail does for Affection |
  28. -------------------------------+
  29. What exactly do YOU get in return for communicating with your fellow party
  30. members? Why you get a boost to their affection for you. To be more precise,
  31. let's first separate ending e-mails and e-mail chains.
  32.  
  33. 1) For e-mail chains, affection increases by 10 in two ways. First, by choosing
  34. correct replies that will continue the chain you will normally get bonus
  35. affection upon receiving the following e-mail in response to your reply, but
  36. Mistral and BlackRose sometimes do not award any affection in a few e-mails.
  37. Second, by choosing wrong replies, the e-mail chain ends leaving you unable
  38. to get any of the remaining e-mails associated with it and you get an
  39. immediate +10 to affection. Thus, in a 4 link e-mail chain, there is the
  40. potential to get +10 to +30 affection.

  42. 2) For all ending e-mails, there is an immediate increase by 10 to affection
  43. upon reading them with the exception of Mistral's, oddly enough. (???)
  44.  
  45. All in all, each character can gain a nice amount of affection ranging from 40
  46. to 50 just from e-mails in order to help continue the flow of e-mails to your
  47. inbox.

  59. characters on your member list that will not try to be sociable by starting an
  60. e-mail chain or sending an ending e-mail to you.
