- There are 2 possibilities in case of content restrictions. Either your state forces ISPs to restrict your access to it, or (like we have recently seen in UK), the websites themself block users from certain countries when they can't afford proper KYC or don't want to deal with users from certain countries for some other reason. Your options are as follows.
- 1) Change your DNS
- This is the simplest and most common way for many countries to restrict your access to many online services, when they force ISPs to sinkhole certain domains on default DNS. Bypassing it is as easy as just changing your DNS server.Consider the following servers:
- - cloudflare 1.1.1.1 (might block certain websites they don't like)
- - google 8.8.8.8 (same as cloudflare)
- - quad9 9.9.9.9 (the most uncensored, chud-approved dns. Might not be as reliable)
- If it doesn't work, consider the following options.
- 2) TOR browser
- Browser that can access the TOR network and clearnet websites as well. Can mask your IP for free, with some considerable drawbacks. Some services block tor exit nodes entirely. It will also be pretty slow, but it was previously reported by some british anons that it will work with major gooning services than would normally require KYC. DO NOT use it for torrenting. DO NOT log in to your personal accounts over tor. You can use bridges for better anonimity.
- 3) VPN
- VPN services that are nowadays used as glorified proxies. Faster than tor, can be used for torrenting and are user-friendly but they (usually) cost money. DO NOT use them for anything serious (torrenting cracked software or gooning should be fine). DO NOT rely on killswitches while torrenting, you need to bind your bittorrent client to VPN's network interface. Can be bought with monero if payment processors decide to jay you hard. Consider split tunneling for more comfortable setup.
- 4) Residential Proxies
- Most reliable solution so far, since neither your cuntry nor the services has an actual way to practically get rid of those. But they are more expensive than VPNs and usually come from shady sources. DO NOT bother with datacenter proxies, get RESIDENTIAL STATIC PROXIES, PREFERABLY UNUSED ONES. Pick a proxy in countries where internet is not so restricted.
