- The Past
- Susan can trace the name Bell to one of the families that settled in Erehwon in the colonial British Period. The middle name Elizabeth from a great grand mother long gone from this earth and long since passed for worm food. Not that any of this matters for her own roots lay in the small fishing community of the southern coast. It was her a parish priest woke one night to ringing of hid door bell heralding the news of a visitor standing upon his front porch.
- Grumping something under his breath the old man reached for his house coat and quickly tied the cotton sash around his frail once is arms where through the soft cotton sleeves. His grumping increased ten fold as he made his way from his bedroom to the front door. With his annoyance quickly rising he pulled open his door and poked his head out.
- “Hello!” He cried into the dark winters night, Quickly he looked around narrowing his eyes to hopeful make out a faint shadow or dispattern in the surrounding landscape that might hint at a possible sign of life. But at last he found none, He was just about to call it a night and report the matters to the local authorizes when a shrill cry of a child filled the chilly air.
- A look of amazement overcame him as he peered down and noticed the infant girl wrapped tightly in a pink blanket and placed in the shelter of a basic. It was something straight from the pages of a old Victorian novel. Kneeling closer he peered toward her pink face and slowly a smile crossed is somber face.
- “Hello there, dear” He said peering toward the basket, among the basket he noticed a few official papers the basic things needed to enroll her in the public school system when the time came and a few personal letters from the mother and one from the fathers. Yet nothing hinted at a name till the discovery of a saint Jean medal was discovered. Engraved on the back of the thin silvery metal was the name ‘Susan Elizabeth Bell.’ The name stuck.
- A flurry of activity took place. The local hospital was called and the government was informed. And the child quickly found herself under the care of the Catholic Church. The next six years of her life would be one playful growth the order in charge of her raising, ’The Sisters of Grace’ where known to have a gentle hand and loving outlook when it came to girls under there care.
- The classic children’s cartoon of ‘Madeline’ is a perfect guide to these years, she was taught the Rosary and the varies prayers and her education was mainly in private catholic run schools. The records provided from these schools show a pattern that would follow her through her career as a student. She was strong in reading and history, science in the most basic form delight her and free time was spent in writing her own little silly stories. Despite her love for reading and her writing habit she performed poorly in English and often require out of class help to scrap up a passing grade.
- Though her sixth year of brought change, the order was breaking the girls up and scattering them to wind. Lots where drawn and by fate along Sue next six years would be spent in a foster home run by a elderly Japanese couple. She was not along for a good two or four other children lived there. For the young girl it was like the west was meeting east for the first time. Everything was new to her and everything was bright. Soft futons decked out with sheets and feathery pillows replaced the lump bed spread of the old house.
- Colorful coloring books lined the book shelf’s. Cartoons where allowed and one of the first dolls she ever owned a plushy little rag doll with brown hair and brown eyes was presented to her. She named the doll Ikumi and since then it has always been her and Ikumi. Ikumi became her friend, her best friend in fact. And the other girls became for the first time her sisters and only boy present quickly became her brother. Her big brother.
- It was she was earn the nick name ‘Sue’ and here she would develop her love for the occult by reading the vast collections of Goosebumps and Fear Street Sage’s paper backs collection of her older brother. The rich folkloric mind set of couple also helped her growth.
- This shifting of homes also had more everlasting effects for Susan. Gone where the days of the many boring catholic saint days that required a special prayer and extra ava’s, here where the days of fun filled Japanese theme festivals. The Oba Festival become a much looked forward day in her ear and the adding of ‘Chan’ and ‘Kun’ quickly became the norm for her. In short Susan fell in love with Japan, her people and there style of art. And this effect can still be seen today. Its reflected in her fashion, her manners and her mind set that the little sisters should be the helpers of the older ones.
- And in return the older ones provide guidance and leadership to the younger ones. Its by this social contact along that the house can be united and be lead to the golden land of prosperity and unity. For six years she lived bound by such a contact. But at last the flow of time saw it fit that Sue must once more be scattered to the wind. And so for the second time in her life she was sent to another foster home.
- It was in the late winter of the year when Susan dressed in a new solid pink short sleeve dress with matching white stocking and shiny black low heel shoes. The outfit had been a gift to her from the older couple something of a farewell present. Also in her possessions was a cute pink hello kitty suit case filled with a few personal items and her faithful friend Ikumi. A hurricane of emotions twirled around her as she stepped onto the porch and waited then master of the house Tim to greet her.
- A year or so has passed since her coming to the house, and things have really changed in her life. A transformation has taken place within her heart. She now has a mom and a dad and countless brothers and sisters, some of whom she grown very close to. She even found herself a girlfriend of shorts.
- The Mind and the Heart
- Mental Strength: Being a good big sister requires a complex set of supporting skills. Many of these skill’s Susan has master in her time at the house. Often when faced with a overwhelming work load she draft the little ones into helping them. Often by offering a reward of glass of milk or a cookie maybe even two cookies. Once the help of these little helping hands is secure she’ll then give them small suitable task while saving the big chores for herself. Once the task is completed she pass out rewards and does not spare in telling the little helpers how much she loved there help. Often she writes little notes to older adults informing them of deeds they performed praise and a hug are the two keys words here. She considered by many of the younger ones to second in command of the girls wing. They know that Sue is always a quick text or phone call away and her door is always open.
- Mental Weakness: Despite her mastery of the many skills required to be a big sister there are still a few areas that need some work. Susan does not do well when the pressure is piled on. In such events she often tries to take too much on her shoulders and complety control ever little thing . Most of the time this cause’s things to well break down, you can say she handles task management well in small groups but that complety goes out of wack when a larger group is added to equation. Also has a budding author that has her stories published in weekly shojo theme magazine she tends to become a little frantic when a dead line his hanging over her head.
- Education: Its hard to pin point where Susan stands when it comes to her education and her study ethics. Susan loves science in its most basic and hands on forms. So loves to tinker around and seems to learn best when she can touch, feel a item and ask questions. Her love for reading and writing has helped her become a star history pupil and has lead down a path of discover. Though the subject of math has in the past require a good bit of extra out of classroom help in math since its hard for her to grasp the true understanding of the subject beyond what can be shown to her with simple learning aids.
- Character relationships
- Adell: Adell is the one somebody that completes’ Sue. She is her yen to her yang. The outgoing girl is the strong staff for Sue to lean on when her heart is often weighted day by the pressures of everyday life. She enjoys the companionship and the sisterly bond the two have formed over the seasons. Its safe to say without a shadow of a doubt she is one of her best friends. And one of the few girls Sue calls her sister.
- Meru: Meru is one of the few girls Sue calls her ‘neesan’ or big sister. Meru came into Sue’s life when she was pretty much a outsider of the house. In a strange way Meru help make sue the person she is today, learned the fable art of taking time out of your busy day to sit and listen to a fellow sister. Though going through quite the emotional storm herself at that time she did try her best to help Meru through her troubles. And in the process she won a stead fast friend. Though it would take a trip abroad to complety help mend her shattered spirit.
- Oliver: Oliver entered Sue’s life almost as soon as Meru had left. Oliver is a special case to the teenager. She loves the mousey boy deeply and often feels she should be there to defend him and keep him safe from any harm. She feels his gentle and easy going nature should be cared for and cultivated.
- Evelyn: Evelyn started off as personal project of hers. She dared herself to see if she could not change the girl and in the process earn herself the fabled spanking privileges that in her mind would help cemented her role as a leader among the young girls in the girls wing. But as the season’s melted into season’s Sue felt a growing fondness for girl. And in the end she became not only a friend but a sister.
