Kailer slipped into a seat across from him, curling himself around his mug of rapidly cooling coffee. "Would you ever want to raise a child?"

Theo sat frozen, staring at him as though unsure of how to proceed.

“Why do you ask?” Theo murmured.

 "Been thinking about it for a while now. I've pitched the idea quite a bit, but it always turned into a running joke."

"I didn't think you were serious before." Theo swallowed, "How would this work? With your busy schedule and working 70 some odd hours a week? Plus we're not..... well, you know."

Kailer stifled a chuckle behind a broad palm. "Are you drunk?" He smiled, "Why don't we try a surrogate?"

"How about we adopt a child?" Theo asked.

"No…I want kids that have a piece of us. More specifically, a little boy with your eyes and hair."

Theo allowed himself to sink into a fantasy: of toddlers with slick hair.

"Huh," Theo smiled softly, "But whose sperm would we use?"

"So," Kailer began, his mouth lingering on the "o's". A smile cracked Kailer's serious expression, and he laughed slight embarrassment as he leaned over the side of the bed. While the other was uncharacteristically deep in his thoughts, the other man was rummaging through his discarded jean pockets. When he came back up, he was holding up a small coin.

"Babe, you're not serious. That's the best you can come up with?"

"What do you suggest? Wrestling?" The younger man chuckled, flipping the coin in a high arch, "Call it." He curved his mouth into a vague facsimile of a smile.
