  2. [17:26] Lemuria undid her armor slightly, jotting a triangle-shaped rune onto the center-upper part of her chest. She reached into her pocket, pulling out her newly-acquired copper, and placing it into the vessel before her.
  3.
  4. "I need to learn how to imbue these spirits into people without having to give them an offering, and I believe I have an idea for that..."
  5.
  6. She left it ambiguous as to what that idea was, but she performed much the same preparation as before: anointed oil and a sample of her blood poured into a brass vessel, and the activation of her occult aura.
  7.
  8. "I'm going to start by calling the spirit into myself. I need you here for this, but I do not need you to involve yourself in the actual process this time. Are you prepared for whatever may come? Because I am not too sure myself."
  9. (Lemuria Augustus)
  10. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  11.
  12. [17:30] Agnimazud listened to her words with arms crossed at his chest. Though he appeared disinterested, he was anything but. Imbuing spirits into people... well, that's likely where the feeling of potential power came from during the ritual. It made sense, being able to use the joint progress of multiple souls, so to say. As she said, though, enticing the spirit to do so--and to play nice while doing so, was another issue. Apparently it was one she had solved, though.
  13.
  14. After hearing the rest of her words, he gave a simple nod of his head. He took a few steps forward, standing at Lemuria's side. He assumed that there were a number of ways this could go wrong--well, that was a fact. Handling most of them would likely require fighting, so it was no wonder she'd request his presence. Of course, he could be wrong, but he was doubtful of such.
  15.
  16. "Right, begin whenever you're ready. I'm prepared."
  17.
  18. A snap of the Drakanite's fingers followed, his staff unlatching from its holster and hovering right into Agni's left hand.

  26.
  27. A ceremonial dagger was drawn, the paper floated within the brass vessel, and Lemuria clapped her hands together, a black pentagram forming on her left hand.
  28.
  29. "I invocate and conjure thee, O Spirit, Furfur; and being with power armed from the DARK LORD, I do strongly command thee."
  30.
  31. This time, the occult flames surrounding her were not drained from her body. Nay, the opposite happened: they grew even more potent! The other flames around the area went out, and occult flames lit up within the brass vessel.
  32.
  33. "Thou Furfur, that thou dost forthwith appear unto me here before this Circle in a fair human shape, without any deformity or tortuosity. And by this ineffable name, KRS, do I command thee, at the which being heard the elements are overthrown, the air is shaken, the sea runneth back, thefire is quenched, the earth trembleth, and all the hosts of the celestials, terrestrials, and infernals, do tremble together, and are troubled and confounded."
  34.
  35. Unlike before, this was Lemuria's own occultism being enhanced. Her occultism was already different from Agni's entirely. It was profane, it was foul. While it wasn't stronger, it represented something that was violently suppressed for good reason. And so, she took the ceremonial dagger...
  36.
  37. "Wherefore come thou, O Spirit Furfur, forthwith, and without delay, from any or all parts of the world wherever thou mayest be, and make rational answers unto all things that I shall demand of thee."

  42.
  43. Everything went silent, until Lemuria spoke in a voice that was once more not her own.
  44.
  45. "FURFUR, the POWERFUL Great Earl of HELHEIM!"
  46.
  47. The flames from the vessel burst forth, enveloping Lemuria's body. But unlike before, these flames did seem to be painful; Lemuria doubled over in pain, but the flames also decreased in size, slowly absorbing themselves into the triangle she drew into her chest. And once that was over, everything else went out.
  48.
  49. She turned towards Agni, and smirked, despite a terrifying symphony of thoughts and feelings rushing through her head. She had adapted to that terror, and learned to revel in it, because nothing made her feel quite as alive as fear did, as little as she actually had a chance to feel it.
  50.
  51. "Now then, Agni... are you prepared for the transfer?"
  52.
  53. Her voice was back to normal, but her disposition was entirely different. Her gaze seemed... glazed over. Cloudy. She possessed a gaze that didn't meet Agni's eyes. And yet, the expression that he did bear witness to was...

  90. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  91.
  92. [18:00]
  93. {LOAD GAME}
  94.
  95. [18:06] Agnimazud stood at the read, his fingers drumming along the shaft of his staff idly--it may seem like an act of boredom, or something one did subconsciously, but in reality, he was twitching at the chance to wreak more havoc. He was, in a way, hoping that this went wrong in some form, so that he may release his powers and subdue whatever threat manifests from an error in Lemuria's ritual. That excitement, while subtle, was definitely something one could sense if they were keen to it.
  96.
  97. If that weren't enough, violet sparks of electricity danced around the Drakanite's body, emitting quiet, but persistent screeches as the ritual and subsequently incantations followed from his companion's lips. His brows furrowed, his lime-green eyes burning brightly, emitting a brighter glow than usual. He was fully alert now--almost anticipating something. When he witnessed the familiar flames encapsulate Lemuria, his brow then cocked. He distinctly remembered this not being a painful experience when it happened to him.
  98.
  99. Still, this was supposedly different. Well--it definitely was different, but it was certainly something that caught his eye, and made him even more antsy. When Lemuria's lips parted to speak again, he heard a voice that was not her own. It was something else entirely--a male's. This was different too, but as his thoughts raced and he mulled them over as rapidly as he could manage, he made sense of it. Lemuria had some kind of natural gift when it came to this sort of thing. Not only was her Occultic power different, but she had some sort of ability to commune with spirits to begin with.
  100.
  101. He did recall her saying that where he'd see vague symbols and imagery, she herself possessed the ability to fully communicate in these kind of conditions.
  102.
  103. The fact that it was not his own companion's voice that touched his ears despite it coming from her form was still, admittedly, slightly unsettling. When that look took over her visage, a very uncharacteristic smirk followed by her question, he was skeptical. Now, he knew that Lemuria was... quirky, to say the least. He'd seen her maniacal bursts after her first success with this ritual. Her demeanor currently remained a bit farfetched to him. As crazy as he knew her to be, it just didn't really seem like 'her', even if the two didn't really know each other that long in the grand scheme of things.
  104.
  105. Oh well, ultimately, he was the novice when it came to all of this. If he made a mistake here, he couldn't really be blamed. If this all went awry, nothing coule be done except fixing it by whatever means necessary.
  106.
  107. The Drakanite nods his head, but whereas Lemuria's expression remained... well, lighthearted wasn't really the right word, but she certainly wasn't anywhere near as grave as Agnimazud appeared right now, with narrowed, almost accusing eyes. "Yeah. Let's do it." he did not sound amused, either.
  108. (Agnimazud Ishwaratu)
  109. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  110.
  111. [18:19] "The seventh principle that these rituals operate under is as follows."
  112.
  113. "Gender is in everything; Everything has its masculine and feminine principles; Gender manifests on all planes. Masculine is projective, feminine is receptive. This applies to actions, not just who we are as people."
  114.
  115. Even while her mind was being beset by dozens upon dozens of visions, she still managed to remain calm. Composed. She still managed to speak her mind, utilizing her own words and not just the words of whatever possessed her. And she was willing to act as herself. All this spirit did was inspire her. Inspire what, you may ask? Well, in this case...
  116.
  117. She closed the distance between the two of them-
  118.
  119. "And so we'll share in this possession by uniting those two forces."
  120.
  121. -...and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, staring directly into his eyes.
  122.
  123. The nature of her expression became very, very clear now.
  124.
  125. "So let us create a work of art that will convince this spirit to tell us what we need to know, Agni."
  126. (Lemuria Augustus)
  127. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  128.
  129. [18:28] His suspicions remained for a while, up until she did something he -completely- did not expect, show him affection, and by bringing her arms around his shoulders, no less.
  130.
  131. All the potential hostility, the unease, the readiness to fire off magic at the drop of a dime, it all vanished right then and there. His heart is racing faster than ever, his eyes unable to peel away from Lemuria's gaze... not that he'd want to, anyway. No, really, this was beyond unexpected. He felt his entire body heating up, and it felt like his heart was beating against his sternum to try and rip free from his body with how rapid it became.
  132.
  133. He forgot how this felt, to have someone show affection to him, and...
  134.
  135. To want to return that affection. Without even thinking consciously about it, he throws himself further into Lemuria so their bodies were tightly pressed into one another and his arms formed a firm knot around her waist, hugging her closely. Gosh, just how long had it been...? This felt sudden--no, it was sudden. Strangely enough, it didn't feel all that sudden at all at the same time. There was this odd concoction of this feeling sprung upon him, but at the same time, feeling like it was bound to happen, like... like it was something known between them, that simply decided to have the trigger pulled on it today.
  136.
  137. He was very fond of Lemuria, but he hadn't really gotten over Astelle… he didn't know Lemuria that long, so why, then, did it feel like an emotion that left a massive void within him was beginning to return, despite Astelle herself not having done so? His mind was racing with questions, and despite those innumerable doubts?
  138.
  139. I've wanted to do this for so long.
  140.
  141. They were snuffed out by that lone thought, and it was all that remained.
  142.
  143. The Drakanite practically lifts Lemuria off of her feet, leaving her tip-toes just barely connected to the floor due to their height difference. His lips close in onto her own, poised to aggressively claim them and lock in place for a passion-filled kiss.
  144. (Agnimazud Ishwaratu)
  145. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  146.
  147. [18:48] Their lips met, and with that, a contract was sealed. But she didn't just stop there. No, why would she...?
  148.
  149. To not indulge is a sin, after all.
  150.
  151. When her lips met his, she wrapped her legs around his waist, and she aimed to cause him to fall back down on the ground. And... must I even explain what happened, here? Their passion was at its peak, powered by occultism and the very spirits of Helheim itself. A void was filling up within Agni's heart, and within Lemuria's heart, held a desire unlike any other.
  152.
  153. Furfur is a spirit of the carnal ego, the daemon associated with the body. And so...
  154.
  155. ...
  156.
  157. ...the body was made use of.
  158.
  159. While the two were locked in their 'dance', the spirit transferred from Lemuria's body to Agni's own. His mind was filled with various thoughts and symbols, but most of all, he'd feel an overwhelming love for the budding witch. Unnatural would turn to natural, and his own thoughts would be turned into weapons against the fortress of his heart. Resistance, while possible, would be incredibly difficult; Furfur had the power to raise storms, and within the context of the mind, this meant...
  160.
  161. His very sense of self would be scrambled. For the whole of the process, the two of them would, metaphorically speaking, be as one, unable to differentiate between the two. Masculine and feminine would unite, and draw forth the energy needed to create new life. There was a key difference between the two of them, however. Through her ability to see spirits, and communicate with them, Lemuria was the only one aware of what was going on. While Agni felt his thoughts and feelings were genuine (although, make no mistake, he could resist any of this should he feel the need), Lemuria knew they were born from her art.
  162.
  163. This was a spirit meant to make them fall in love, sure, but Lemuria, as both the person who initiated the art and the one who could see past it, could easily guard herself against these feelings and toss them aside after. For she did not want a husband, nor did she desire a boyfriend.
  164.
  165. She wanted a subject.
  166.
  167. A subject bound to her by the icy, frigid chains of his own heart.
  168. (Lemuria Augustus)

  213. She wanted a subject.
  214.
  215. A subject bound to her by the icy, frigid chains of his own heart.
  216. (Lemuria Augustus)
  217. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  218.
  219.
  220. [13:09] The feeling was inexplicable--of a love both natural and unnatural simultaneously. He was certain it was a new feeling entirely, one that had no name, and one that many would have ever felt. He fell back when she clung around him with her legs, back hitting the floor, and he fully indulged in his desires.
  221.
  222. Once more, the symbols, some runic in nature and some not, overwhelmed his sight. What was once Lemuria and their dimly lit home became entirely abstract images--mere concepts, and vague inclinations of meanings beyond his current comprehension. No, this certainly wasn't natural...
  223.
  224. But at the same time, it was.
  225.
  226. When the visions granted from the transference of the infernal spirit and the possession of his body faded, his sight was able to refocus, and he once more saw a female on top of him, clinging and exchanging in gratuitous lust and affection.
  227.
  228. She had blue hair, though.
  229.
  230. Tears swelled up at the bottom of Agni's eyes, dripping down his cheeks.
  231.
  232. "I missed you so much, Astelle. Where have you been? Why did you disappear for so long?" he mutters, though it was Lemuria who was undoubtedly still clinging to him.
  233.
  234. The natural part was that... it didn't matter that this was Lemuria. It didn't matter who it was at all, so long as they were a mortal vessel for his true desire. If he could not truly see and have Astelle once more, then this woman would take her place in his delusions. The natural part was that for a time, while Agnimazud was able to lose himself in his mind, he could fill the void that was left. So long as there was another body with him right now, he could replace their features and images with that of what his heart still longed for.
  235.
  236. This was his natural love.
  237.
  238. As he was now, he forgot Lemuria existed entirely, yet his lips stole further kisses from her, greedy for something he'd been deprived of for years. "Ugh... you dork, I was waiting for so long... how could you have done that to me, knowing how much you meant?" his tears let loose like water bursting through a shattered dam.
  239.
  240. Sniffling, the Drakanite's motion come to a halt, his breathing fevered, and his body glazed with sweat. Yes, for him, Lemuria would take the place of his lost love, at least for this moment. Even if this kind of moment never came again, it meant more to him than anyone could possibly know, for, in his own mind, to be reunited with his 'world'. A smile takes to Agni's face, and his lids come to a slow close.
  241.
  242. The eruption of emotions took several minutes to wane, and when they did, his eyes opened again, and it was once more Lemuria that he saw. He looked shocked--truly, he'd replaced the witch with what he really wanted, to the point where he was surprised she was even here, despite it being her own house, and despite him initiating this ritual with her just momentsprior.
  243.
  244. "...Lemuria? Why are you so close...?"
  245.
  246. He looked disappointed. He couldn't even connect the dots of what his own mind did.
  247.
  248. "Guess Astelle is gone again..."
  249. (Agnimazud Ishwaratu)
  250. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  251.
  252. [13:17] What a strange effect to cause in someone. He clearly had baggage that Lemuria wasn't aware of, but she herself did not care. Nay, she was too busy indulging- getting lost in the heat of the moment- to even care about the fact that another name was called out. After all, her feelings were not genuine; there was nothing to get jealous over. So while Agni was having his visions, his and her carnal desires were both fulfilled. And when it was done...
  253.
  254. "I'm so close, because..."
  255.
  256. She stood up, fully re-dressed herself, and began making the preparations necessary to banish any lingering dark spirits that remained in the room. But she silenced herself for long enough to think of a response. Strangely enough, her response was genuine, not calculated, and came straight from her heart.
  257.
  258. "...I am who you need me to be."
  259. (Lemuria Augustus)
  260. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  261.
  262. [13:33] Agni laid there in a daze. She was gone again. Yeah... she was. He lazily looked around, his eyes scanning the household and being unable to detect what he was looking for.
  263.
  264. Gone.
  265.
  266. His confused expression immediately turns melancholy. He listened, but did not divert the attention of his eyes to see Lemuria redressing and taking care of necessary post-ritual precautions. The Drakanite's tears have entirely dried--even were his body to urge more out of him, the well was fully dry now. He was silent until the moment Lemuria spoke again, wrapped up in a multitude of thoughts.
  267.
  268. So fragile, so fleeting.
  269.
  270. That's what love was. That's all it could ever be. He wasn't crushed from the loss of his love, but the burden that he'd been made to bear was monumental. The natural question that came after was...
  271.
  272. Was it even worth it?
  273.
  274. He could forge the future of his visions with his own hands, he could forge new bonds... but why? There would be no pain to be felt right now had he never opened his heart. As for that road ahead...
  275.
  276. Why should I?
  277.
  278. Why should he create the utopia of his dreams, rewrite the atrocities and injustices of society in general if he couldn't even hold on to what he ached for? Why did others deserve to be able to enjoy the bliss and happiness to be wrought from the seeds he'd sew if he himself couldn't do the same?
  279.
  280. He was snapped out of his thoughts when Lemuria spoke again. 'I am who you need me to be.'
  281.
  282. That resonated with him deeply. Though he still did not acknowledge what happened amidst the ritual, he picked himself up from the floor, his eyes downcast and his visage keeping solemn. He spoke with an even lower toned voice than usual.
  283.
  284. "Yes, you are. I guess that's why I'm here to begin with, after all."
  285. (Agnimazud Ishwaratu)
  286. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  287.
  288. [13:48] Lemuria giggled, but she did not allow herself to let off a laugh at this time. The fact that she could inspire such emotions within someone was... exhilarating. To have such control over someone... to be able to overwhelm someone so fully with emotions... she couldn't help but find that hilarious! As a matter of fact, were it not for one small detail, she would've broken out into another cackle:
  289.
  290. Lemuria had a hole in her heart, too.
  291.
  292. It wasn't a hole someone else left behind, mind, but it was still something she related to and understood on a deep level that she herself did not consciously realize. In light of this, she felt an unidentifiable something well up within her heart, which she felt the need to vocalize.
  293.
  294. "Hey, Agni."
  295.
  296. This was the first time in a long time she allowed herself to feel anything genuine towards a person. And while it wasn't love, it was a something that made her want to provide something that she herself desperately needed:
  297.
  298. "It's going to be okay."
  299.
  300. Reassurance. Comfort.
  301.
  302. "No matter what you have lost, or what you may lose in the future, you will always have someone to lean on."
  303.
  304. Unfortunately, her's was a problem she could never precisely express. She didn't know she needed those things. She didn't know she wanted those things. She didn't even know they existed. She just knew that she felt a vast emptiness deep within her heart, and could only cover it up by...
  305.
  306. "It might not be the same person every time, but it will always be someone."
  307.
  308. ...what, exactly?
  309.
  310. "And as of now, that person is me."
  311.
  312. Underneath all the laughing, all the cackling, all the conjuring and other villainous acts that she committed and wanted to committed in the future, there still existed a person.
  313.
  314. "So, whatever pain you feel, make sure to feel it knowing that it won't have to be that way forever, okay?"
  315.
  316. A person that sometimes spoke words that she didn't truly believe of herself.
  317. (Lemuria Augustus)
  318. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  319.
  320. [14:05] Agnimazud closes his eyes once more, taking in the gradually escalating giggling coming from Lemuria. He couldn't discern what exactly prompted it, but he wasn't in a state to bring himself to care. His breathing became deliberate--he inhaled and held oxygen in his lungs for several seconds, letting it spill out from his mouth when he finally exhaled. This process continued for a while, all through while she spoke, up until she mentioned that the person that he'd have to lean on was her.
  321.
  322. While he lost himself in his thoughts again, his expression loosened up, becoming entirely neutral. No signs of positive feelings, but none of negative ones either. There'd always be someone to lean on, regardless of the losses? A perpetual, revolving door of individuals to take the place of their progenitor. The thought of that primal being brought the vision of Astelle into his memories again.
  323.
  324. It quickly burst into flames though.
  325.
  326. The sight of his former lover was consumed within a rapidly spreading, all-devouring blaze. A lesson that Astelle helped him learned was the balance of positive and negative emotions. Her love lived in harmony with that which composed his darkness, and kept the acceleration of his sanity's decline at bay. However--
  327.
  328. Were he to lose his mind, he would feel none of this either way.
  329.
  330. If he slammed shut the gates to his heart, and danced with his daemons, following the beat and rhythm of their chorus, walking hand in hand with them, he would surely end up as a shadow of his former self. Though he may keep his flesh and bone, and even his name, he would not truly be Agnimazud as those who currently knew him would know then.
  331.
  332. But... was that so bad?
  333.
  334. These concerns were not concerns that person would have. They'd have no concerns at all in the state they were in. He need not feel pain, loss.
  335.
  336. Heartache.
  337.
  338. There was no need for this revolving door nor the alleged comfort it may provide if there was no need for comfort to begin with. Agni's eyes open again, and he remains neutral, speaking with his usual monotone again. "Yeah. It'll be okay. One way or another, Lemuria."
  339. (Agnimazud Ishwaratu)
  340. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  341.
  342. [14:14] Lemuria smiled and nodded, but then-
  343.
  344. "Good."
  345.
  346. -she went back to business as usual.
  347.
  348. "I've come very close to figuring it all out, Agni! This is AMAZING! Those spirits... they actually listen. My mother wasn't crazy! She knew what she was doing!!!"
  349.
  350. Lemuria made her way into the center of the circle and clapped her hands together, preparing one of the most effective forms of banishing she knew-
  351.
  352. "...and so will I. I'll be able to write all the stories I want, as much as I want! It'll be WONDERFUL! Hah... hahahaha..."
  353.
  354. Laughter.
  355.
  356. Evil spirits did not react well to such a thing, and when it was employed, it was more than enough to banish any lingering dark forces around the area. No matter where it came from, no matter the reason...
  357.
  358. "KYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
  359.
  360. ...no matter what it was covering up.
  361.
  362. Her laugh echoed throughout the area, but there was a somewhat noticeable hollowness to it. While the spirits still departed, one thing was made clear: This experience brought up feelings that she did not want to feel. And while she wasn't able to attach the words necessary to express them, she certainly knew how to do away with them.
  363.
  364. "I won't be an apprentice for long. I can feel it."
  365. (Lemuria Augustus)
  366. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  367.
  368. [14:29] Agnimazud takes a few steps away from the general ritual area, his footsteps echoing with the acoustics of the relatively scarcely furnished home. He leans against the wall, looking over at the area and Lemuria herself now with an apathetic gaze.
  369.
  370. He watched the process continue, her raving something he was quite used to by now. He himself was not very privy to the spirits, but due to his magic, he could at the very least feel them. Thus, he could tell when they were being banished, and when the presence of supernatural beings such as themselves was steadily depleting even if he had no vision of them. His arms fold, his brow cocking with piqued interest.
  371.
  372. The Drakanite felt a tinge of emotion as her laughter continued. There was something being repressed there. Given how little he knew of his witch companion, he had no way of knowing what it was, but there was definitely far more to her than meets the eye. For as maniacal and depraved as she outwardly was, she was still, at the end of the day, a young girl.
  373.
  374. "I have no doubt of that, myself."
  375. (Agnimazud Ishwaratu)
  376. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  377.
  378. [14:30] Lemuria Augustus says, "Ha... hahaha... hah."
  379. [14:30] Lemuria Augustus says, "I'm glad."
  380. [14:31] Agnimazud Ishwaratu says, "Mhm."
  381. [14:34] Lemuria Augustus says, "Thank you for all of the help."
  382. [14:34] Lemuria Augustus says, "It means a lot."
  383. [14:34] Agnimazud Ishwaratu says, "You're welcome, Lemuria."
