Spirit Slicer: WHEN I ASKED YOU THE FIRST TIME
Ridley: I kinda did hehe
Spirit Slicer: omg i'm listening :)
Ridley: alright so the idea behind the whole thing was a scavenger hunt
Ridley: and all of the "gifts" were notes sending her to the next location
Ridley: and they were put in places around our home town that were impactful during our relationship
Ridley: so I started by grabbing some smoothies from tropical smoothie cafe and picking her up from her house
Spirit Slicer: omg it's already perfect
Ridley: I had the first box in my car already and gave it to her after I picked her up
Ridley: the box was an old kendra scott (cute necklace) box that was from a necklace one of my sisters had gotten in the past
Ridley: and we were talking about kendra scott necklaces the day before which was kinda funny
Ridley: but that's beside the point
Ridley: so the first note sent her to the place we "first kicked it" which was the parks and rec soccer field where we played together in 5th grade

Ridley: then the note there sent her to the high school we went to together
Ridley: then the note there sent her to her house that she lived in during high school (her mom moved when she went to college)
Ridley: and at that house 6ish years ago I surprised her with a box of donuts and a sign that said "I DONUT know what I would do without you"
Spirit Slicer: UR SO CORNY I LOVE IT
Ridley: and placed at her house when she got there was a box of donuts
Ridley: and in the lid I wrote "I still donut know what I would do without you"
Ridley: and that sent her
Spirit Slicer: ...
Ridley: it was so cute
Spirit Slicer: i'm crying
Spirit Slicer: in a good way
Spirit Slicer: this is so uber cute
Ridley: the note in the donut box sent her to the place we were always "goons" together
Spirit Slicer: ummmm
Spirit Slicer: a diner?
Ridley: which sent her to the chinese place that we always ate at
Spirit Slicer: ahaha
Ridley: where we always got crabrangoons
Spirit Slicer: OOH
Ridley: so we went through the drive through there
Ridley: and I "accidentally" dropped the bag of the crabrangoons that we ordered into my floor board
Spirit Slicer: NO
Ridley: where I swiped the box I had hidden under my seat into the bag
Spirit Slicer: OH
Spirit Slicer: YES!
Ridley: then gave it to her
Ridley: suuuuper smooth
Spirit Slicer: u fucking stu
Spirit Slicer: stud
Spirit Slicer: SO WHAT WAS UNDER THE SEAT
Ridley: the note in that one sent her to the alamo drafthouse, which is a movie theater that we had a lot of date nights at during high school
Ridley: they are unfortunately temporarily closed, so I hid the box there in a bush in front of the building
Ridley: the note in that box then sent her to one of our favorite coffee shops where I had them hold the box behind the counter until I got there
Spirit Slicer: i can't believe how much effort u put into this
Spirit Slicer: guys like you are too good to exist in this world
Ridley: by the way, at all of these places we had long, intentional conversations about how these places affected our relationship and talked about all of the memories we made at them
Spirit Slicer: THIS IS THE TYPE OF SHIT TO ONLY HAPPEN IN MOVIES
Ridley: and the note in the box at the coffee shop sent us to the lake where my friends had set up the site for the proposal
Spirit Slicer: and you actually did it 🥰
Spirit Slicer: omg
Spirit Slicer: it's time
Ridley: it was set up at the end of a pier/dock thing where our friends were at the end with their hoods up pretending to bird watch
Ridley: and she was like "who are those people up there and what are they doing"
Ridley: and when we got close to them, she was like "is that Bri and Ashlyn..."
Spirit Slicer: omg omg omg
Spirit Slicer: YES
Ridley: and when she said that Ashlyn flipped around and started taking pictures
Spirit Slicer: thats when she had to be like
Ridley: and we stopped on the picnic blanket we had set up
Spirit Slicer: WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON HERE
Ridley: and I picked up the fortune cookie that was on the ground
Ridley: FLASHBACK:
Ridley: in high school you know how we ate chinese food a lot
Spirit Slicer: yeah
Ridley: so to "prompose" to her, I opened up a fortune cookie
Ridley: and did a little slight of hand
Ridley: sorry dc'd
Ridley: I did a slight of hand
Ridley: and put a note inside that said "will you go to prom with me"
Spirit Slicer: but this time it wasn't about prom..
Ridley: and I had one of my friends bring the note that I wrote out which was the little "speech" I gave before proposing to her inside of it
Ridley: and I told her to open up the fortune cookie
Ridley: and I was like "let me read what's inside"
Ridley: and I started reading it
Ridley: and she immediately started to bawl her eyes out
Ridley: and after I finished reading it, I got on my knee, pulled out the ring, and did the thing

Ridley: then I surprised her back at my house with a party with all of my friends and family
