- Well, at least I don't have to deal with the Typhon anymore - damn things popped up twice on Earth despite all precautions, before they were considered fully eradicated - and instead I'm just in charge of an island chain in the Pacific Ocean. Not a part of the Hawaiian Kingdom itself, no, but we're friendly with them and there's nothing wrong with that.
- Really, if anything, this was an easy way for me to relax and work on some personal projects. The Conspiracy kept the wheels moving smoothly without the need to resort to anything drastic, and we played friendly with the various powers as well as presenting a unified front when it came to the United States as well. Slavery, after all, was something that we didn't permit; however, our presence prevented a couple of rather unfortunate historical incidents happening involving Hawaii.
- Not all of them, unfortunately, though. December 7, 1941. The Japanese attacks hit Pearl Harbor in Hawaii and Oyster Harbor in North Hawaii. (After all, when you have the United States playing nice and buying your exports, you try to hook them and keep them on board; a naval base seems not unreasonable for that.) While rather little was done in terms of our contributions to the war effort in the long run, it saw Hawaii's uncertainty result in petitioning for and obtaining statehood. North Hawaii... not so much. But still a few islands with friendly relations to a burgeoning superpower, and long-established vacation destination for the rich and powerful.
