  1. The One Church:
  2. The One Church is actually not aligned to any one single god. They have branches to any and all gods of any and all alignments, officially labeling them as Aspects of the same One, and still manage to cooperate for one cause. The Church's purpose is mainly to spread the word of the various Aspects, but also to control the Arcane Magic-users and other non-divine sources of supernatural abilities of the world, and to ensure they all comply with Mages Guild regulations. The core members of the church, Paladins, Clerics, and Rangers, are split into three main groups. Paladins head the division known as the 'Divine Blade'. This is the military of the Church, used to hunt down rogue Mages, and ensure the people of Dres follow Church law. They have their own ranking system. At the lowest rung(Levels 1-5) are the Knights. They make up the majority of the Divine Blade. Next(levels 5-10) are the Paladins. They are often used as squad leaders in groups of Knights. Then there are the Crusaders(Levels 10-15). They control Brigades of Knights. Finally there are the Templars(Levels 15-20). The Templars are the Church equal to Military Generals. The Clerics are part of a group known as the 'Divine Hand'. They have their own ranking system. First is Acolyte(1-5), they are the standard and most common church member. Then there are the Priests(5-10). They oversee the Acolytes, and ensure things are running smoothly. After them come the High Priests(10-15). They oversee the operations of the field agents of the church, and also direct the Surveillance of Registered Mages via scrying. Finally, come the Cardinals(15-20). The Cardinals make up the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial sectors of the Church. They are essentially the Church Government. Finally, the Rangers are part of a group called the 'Divine Eye'. At the lowest rank are the Hunters(1-5), they are scouts and archers for when the Church must move in larger military actions. Next come the Watchers(5-10). They act akin to spies and assassins. Then come the Wardens(10-15). Wardens police the Church, hunting down those who would, as members, break the laws. Finally, there are Guardians(15-20). Guardians are the personal bodyguards of the Highest Church officials, of Artifacts, and any secrets stored in the Church records. All three church groups work in tandem to ensure the messages of the Aspects of the One are spread, and that Arcane magic and other supernatural powers are never left unchecked.
