  1. Her ruby eyes looked around curiously to her brand new surroundings. In her mind, she mumbled, ‘so this is how modern family restaurant looks like’—of course the Senpai in front of her, who dragged her to this place won’t know what she is thinking. Or maybe she knows, since Yuyuko said to her sometimes that she spoke of her thoughts often.
  2.
  3. Earlier, as she, Akikaze Rui, back from her own kendo practice to the dorm, she couldn’t ask twice as Ichie-senpai dragged her outside not long after her arrival. There was no Yuyuko, or she just hiding somewhere from Ichie’s radar, and Tamao seemingly is not available in the dorm.
  4.
  5. “I will take you to someplace nice!” so the sakura-haired Senpai said. Then they arrived at a family restaurant just short walk by the station.
  6.
  7. It’s not like Rui is not accustomed by modern family restaurant with the staffs in frilly, eye-catching costumes. Still, she didn’t really come to these kind of places often. Rui watched one of the waitresses who walked along to deliver drinks, the ebony-haired girl thought to herself that she is painfully not suited to wear such ... revealing costume.
  8.
  9. By the way, back to the condition in hand. What, pray tell, is the reason Ichie suddenly took her there?
  10.
  11. “Welcome to the—you two, err, may I take your order?”
  12.
  13. Oh.
  14.
  15. Rui looked to the waitress who’s approached their table after Ichie pressed the bell on the top of the table. The familiar stern-looking emerald. The sharp tone. Yumeoji Fumi is there before her, clad in the frilly costume of orange. Her flowing pale blonde hair is tied up in ponytail, might be to make her move easier.
  16.
  17. That business smile from her earlier, though, faded to a glare as Ichie visibly holding back her laughter.
  18.
  19. That glare of her Senpai is always make her nervous. It’s not like she dislike Fumi. Her strictness can make you cower in fear and she won’t hold back to scold anyone for making mistakes. Those are dependable trait, a polar opposite of her shy, timid personality.
  20.
  21. Perhaps she wasn’t used to be scolded continuously; as Fumi ever said, Rui is lacking on discipline because Tamao is being too soft – in which she takes on as a hard beating to herself. Fumi is right. She should be able to tough up a little.
  22.
  23. The thought of 'bravery' didn't decrease her awkwardness around Fumi, though.
  24.
  25. “Ichie. Rui. What are you two doing here?” Fumi made a quick—very quick—whisper, the accentuation on every syllable of their names are not forgotten, almost close on threatening them rather than asking nicely for their orders.
  26.
  27. “I-I’m sorry, Fumi-senpai. Ichie-senpai is—“
  28.
  29. “Naw, naw. Didn’t you say to me a few days ago that you’re curious of where Fumi worked at?”
  30.
  31. Did she say that? Ah, maybe it’s because Yuyuko suddenly brought up the topic of Tamao’s family restaurant. Fumi did say to everyone that she have her part-time job, but she leave the details.
  32.
  33. Well, she /was/ curious. It might be Ichie’s curiosity that’s leaking to her too.
  34.
  35. Fumi couldn’t contain her sigh. “And? How about you two order as fast as possible and lessen my burden here?”
  36.
  37. Rui scrambled on the book menu. Ichie didn’t really take a glance to it, as if knowing already what to order.
  38.
  39. “Hamburger set for me, Fumi~” Ichie said. “How about you, Rui?”
  40.
  41. Rui noticed that the omurice menu got two optional price points. The latter one on the list is more expensive than the first, but that title of ‘Special Omurice’ caught her eye.
  42.
  43. “C-Can I have this Special☆Kirameki Omurice?”
  44.
  45. Both of her seniors were silent. Ichie blinked, looking over to Fumi, whose mouth is hanging open. The next moment later, Ichie is doubling up, practically rolling with laughter when Rui is alone in her own confusion.
  46.
  47. Fumi, on the other hand, is beet red.
  48.
  49. “I, I see. Then, please wait for your orders to arrive.” Fumi did a perfectly-angled bow before she scurried away from their table.
  50.
  51. Rui shot a questioning look to her sakura-haired Senpai, who has yet to stop from her laughing momentum.
  52.
  53. “Um, Ichie-senpai? W-What did I order?”
  54.
  55. “You’ll see soon~” wiping tear from the corner of her eyes, Ichie only adds in to Rui’s palate of curiosity.
  56.
  57. Rui waited in jitters. What if Fumi yelled at her later for ordering such strange menu? What if Fumi tell her just to go home and never come to her sight anymore? What does this Special☆Kirameki Omurice really means?
  58.
  59. “S-Sorry for the wait.”
  60.
  61. It was rare for Rui to see that Fumi actually stuttering. She brought the hamburger order for Ichie and a plate of plain-looking omurice to her side. Fumi got a ketchup bottle from the side of the table, Rui intently watched the blonde senior as she, with a red face, write Rui’s name on the egg, along with a heart shape sign.
  62.
  63. The ebony-haired girl stared on the writing, then back to Fumi as she … moved in smooth, practiced choreography of one legged spin, while doing a heart shape with both of her hands, completed with a wink.
  64.
  65. “M-Make this food taste delicious!”
  66.
  67. Wha—
  68.
  69. Fumi then said nothing else and escaped the table, color red is now reaching her ears. She is ignoring Ichie who’s laughing even louder than before.
  70.
  71. Wait. Should she praised for Fumi’s prowess in her part-time work, while it is nothing related to stage girl performances? Or should she just say that her usually uptight Senpai is cute?
