  1. Imagine, it's the happiest day of your life, you have just given birth to your first child, there are boundless possibilities, what to do, were to go, you go to sleep the happiest you've ever been. The next morning you wake up and all of that is gone. This is what SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) is doing to the community, it is killing innocent newborns and breaking the hearts of innocent mothers and fathers. Every day on average 9 children die of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Red Nose are doing everything they can to stop this but they can't do it on their own, we need to help them, there is only one way, that $5000 needs to go to Red Nose.- Max

  4. So what is Red Nose doing for the community, Red Nose provides services such as Red Nose Safe Sleeping which is an education service providing knowledge to new parents about the science of sleeping including sleeping positions, sleep clothing and sleep environments, Red Nose Safe Sleeping has reduced the incidence of SIDS and fatal sleeping accidents by 80% since its inception in 1990 saving the lives of some 9,000 babies. Another service that Red Nose provides to the community is Red Nose Grief And Loss. Red Nose Grief and Loss services provided bereavement support to anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or child. Over the last 12 months their bereavement support line has taken over 10,000 calls seeking information and support. Their counsellors provided face to face support, access to support groups and other services along with printed literature covering a range of issues and topics for those who have experienced a loss.- Josh

  7. Red Nose gets its funds from many events such as community fundraising through events, schools and expo's, Red Nose Day relies on retail and community support through the purchase of Red Nose product and donations, they stage events like the Sunshine Beach Run which is held in February in Perth. They also fundraise through a Sydney to Canberra Bike Ride, Golf Days and a Little Rockers Disco for children under 5 years, their Government funding represents less than 10% of the total funding required to support their education and bereavement services, finally Red Nose also has a number of corporate partnerships which provide a strong volunteer force, income and support from Red Nose Ambassadors.- Brodie

  10. So what would $5000 do for Red Nose, well there are 2 major ways that this money will help Red Nose, the first is the creation of a Red Nose Nursery to be able to demonstrate to new and expectant mothers, extended family members, carers and health care professionals on how to sleep babies safely and create a safe sleeping environment for their baby or child aged up to four years, this would make a tangible difference to their ability to deliver education in WA. The second way is to provide the ability for their services team to have access to vehicles to ensure all families who need information and support are able to receive their assistance.- Harry

  13. On average 2500 babies die from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome every year, more than car crashes, shark attacks and Alzheimer's, anyone of you could experience this and I'm pretty sure you would be very upset so imagine what someone else feels, remember when you lost stuffed toy as a child, it's the same except that this one can't be replaced. To quote American author, political activist and lecturer Hellen Keller "Love lives longer than grief or pain, all other things pass but love will remain, a bond that nothing can sever, because love lasts forever.- Max
