BACKGROUND :; Mina’s parents met while they were in University. Although Mina’s father is Korean he went to Japan to study medicine and met Mina’s mother there too. They ended up getting married and actually decided to live in Japan together. That’s where Mina, her older twin brother and sister were born. When Mina was 6 the family moved over to Korea when Mina’s father received a job interview that couldn’t be turned down. When Mina was 11 her brother introduced her to dance and she loved it. Her and her brother would dance together quite often. He got into dance and was actually the only one who was interested in the show biz industry (apart from Mina). However their parents didn’t approve of this and they kinda had a whole argument and kicked Mina’s brother out of the house. Her parents didn’t want Mina to be like her brother and instead be like her sister, who she still loves dearly. Due to this during high school she was quite a frustrated person since she was super close with her brother and shared the same interests. Instead of acting out she turned to music and wrote down all of her emotions and put them into songs. Her brother eventually helped her to audition and became a trainee & then supported her debut with 2NE1. He then became a choreographer for many different idol groups. When their parents saw how successful they were they also started supporting the two.
