We want to tier the percentage of a commission for sales associated with a given affiliate, based on volume of sales they bring in. Here are a couple example with hypothetical numbers:

EXAMPLE #1: Affiliate #1 earns commission based on multiple tiered levels of TOTAL SALE $ AMOUNT with the settings:

TIER 1) REFERRED SALE TOTAL UNDER $50.00 = COMMISSION RATE OF 10%
TIER 2) REFERRED SALE TOTAL OVER $50 UP TO $100 = COMMISSION RATE OF 15%
TIER 3) REFERRED SALE TOTAL IS $100 AND ABOVE = COMMISSION RATE OF 20%

Following these rules, three customers follow the referral link or use the coupon code provided by affiliate #1.

Customer #1 buys a total of $25 worth of goods BEFORE TAX AND SHIPPING, so affiliate #1 earned $2.50 (10% of $25).
Customer #2 buys $75 worth of goods BEFORE TAX AND SHIPPING, so affiliate #1 earns $11.25 (15% of $75).
Customer #3 buys $200 worth of goods BEFORE TAX AND SHIPPING, so affiliate #1 earns $40 (20% of $200).

EXAMPLE #2: Affiliate #2 earns commission based on multiple tiered levels of TOTAL $ AMOUNT FOR A DEFINED PERIOD OF TIME with the following settings:

The time period for this example would be all sales in a given Julian calendar month (all sales from 12:00:00PM (00:00:00) on first day of month through to 11:59:59PM (23:59:59) on last day of month)

TIER 1) TOTAL REFERRED SALES IN PERIOD UNDER $1000 = COMMISSION RATE OF 10%
TIER 2) TOTAL REFERRED SALES IN PERION OVER $1000 UP TO $2000 = COMMISSION RATE OF 12%
TIER 3) TOTAL REFERRED SALES IN PERIOD OVER $2000 UP TO $3000 = COMMISSION RATE OF 14%
TIER 4) TOTAL REFERRED SALES IN PERION OVER $3000 UP TO $4000 = COMMISSION RATE OF 16%
TIER 5) TOTAL REFERRED SALES IN PERIOD OVER $4000 UP TO $5000 = COMMISSION RATE OF 18%
TIER 6) TOTAL REFERRED SALES IN PERION OVER IS $5000 AND ABOVE = COMMISSION RATE OF 20%

Following these rules, let’s look at three months, January, February and March for total sales for all customers following the referral link or use the coupon code provided by affiliate #2.

January: Total sales of $750.00 worth of goods BEFORE TAX AND SHIPPING, so affiliate #2 earns $75.00 (10% of $750.00).
February: Total sales of $2250.00 worth of goods BEFORE TAX AND SHIPPING, so affiliate #2 earns $315.00 (14% of $2250.00).
March: Total sales of $7500.00 worth of goods BEFORE TAX AND SHIPPING, so affiliate #2 earns $1500.00 (20% of $7500.00).
