1. Amantia lived in a herd of dragons for the first two years of her life, but always fought with the other hatchlings. Eventually, this happened enough that she was removed from her herd and had to live on her own. Her only real worry was getting food. However, being forced to live so independently, she became cold and apathetic, only caring about herself. At least, until she met her mate, Durandal. Seeing as he had a similar past - outcast from his family and forced to live alone - they got along quickly. Amantia’s usually uncaring nature falls to the wayside when she’s with Durandal. Of course, their relationship isn’t perfect, as no relationship is, but they’re quite close.

4. Amantia wandered through the calm, peaceful steppes of the Windswept Plateau. Her belly was full, and she had plenty more food, yet she felt that she was missing something. The young nocturne sighed, trying to ignore the feeling. Suddenly, she noticed a tall, white dragon standing in front of her. His back was turned and he was frantically searching for something. She thought Wonder what he’s looking for? Oh well. Not my problem., but yet, her legs seemed to move on their own, bringing her closer to the mysterious dragon. He turned around, and for a second, she was caught in his large, bright pink eyes.
5. “Hello there! Can you please help me? I- I lost my pearl and I-”
6. Without thinking, she nodded. His eyes lit up, and as he stammered a thank-you, she felt her heart race. He pointed toward a thicket of tall grass with his head.
7. “I think I dropped it somewhere over there.”
8. Suddenly, she noticed something sparkling in the grass. She crawled through the thick fronds to retrieve the sparkling object. As she pulled it out, she discovered it to be a large, pink, glittery pearl. The pearlcatcher jumped in excitement as he saw it.
9. “Oh, that’s mine, thank you!” As he grabbed onto the pearl, his demeanor immediately became much more calm and mellow.
10. “Sorry about that.” he said, visibly uncomfortable. “I’m usually not that, ah, frantic. I was just- I don’t even know. Anyway, I’m Durandal. What’s your name?”
11. “Oh, I’m Amantia.” she replied, still unsure of what to make of the situation.
12. “I don’t really have anywhere to stay. Do you think I could stay with you?” Durandal asked.
13. “I don’t really have a home either, but… sure.”
