background ; mari was born to a middle-class couple as their eldest child of 5. it wasn't easy to earn money for a family of seven and so her father decided to move to USA to work. as a result there was a lot of responsibility placed on mari and forced her to mature early in order to be a role model for her younger siblings. there was especially pressure from her parents to do well in school so that she could have a better future than they had. she often juggled school and taking care of her siblings while her mother was at work, as a result she couldn't really develop any friendships properly as she was always busy. as a child, mari had shown talent in picking up  the arts specifically drama and music. she wanted to learn music and play an instrument but she was never able to get proper lessons because they were too expensive as well as the instrument itself and became more focused on drama as it costed less. once she had gotten older and the responsibility of taking care of her siblings had lightened, she began a part time job at a second hand store and one day someone had dropped off an old cello. as far as she could see there were a few scratches here and there but mari didn't see any fault beyond that in the cello at all and wondered why someone would give it away. there was something in her that wanted to buy the cello and learn despite not having any interest in the instrument at all before. and so she did and began to independently learn cello through old music books from the second hand store and youtube videos.

personality ; mari is hardworking and optimistic, she tries to see the brighter side of situations even if it seems really tough. she has a lot of maturity in her because she's used to taking care of her younger siblings but she does know how to joke around although people don't usually believe that. she's often excluded and doesn't really have any close friends because of her business as the class president and part of the drama club. surprisingly despite her usually calm face and demeanour, she's quite dramatic and loves to express things that she thinks and feels but only if there are people that are willing to listen to her. she's very organised and responsible, and what some would call a teachers' pet as she's the one that always to offer a hand to help with errands and answers questions in class but its actually because she can't sit still doing nothing for a long time. mari doesn't particularly like studying but will do it because of her parents' expectations. she's often alone but likes to be in the company of people maybe thats why she's part of the student council and drama club.

their personality ; he acts arrogant in front of people that he's not close to and he probably has the right as he's very talented and is often referred to as a genius. he's not really arrogant it's all just a facade and tries hard not to let it all go to his head. he's actually quite sweet once you get to know him and is very mindful of the people that he cares about. he can be a bit greasy and use really bad jokes/pickup lines but that's just his humour and it's quite charming. despite his playful nature, he's hardworking in order to maintain his spot as one of the most talented young double bass players.

how they meet ;
	mari had come early to school to check up on stuff that needed to get done as the class president and found that she had nothing to do so she started to play her cello as she had been doing recently when she had free time. he had just transferred into the school, and had also come early as his parents had to talk to the school staff about his busy schedule. he was walking when he heard the sound of a cello and to be honest it sounded quite bad and was about to tell them so when mira started to actually play. her technique was very rough but he knew that she had some potential, and just watched her until she got up and left. he quickly turned away and walked back to the office to meet up with his parents. he was introduced into the class and was told to pick a seat and there was an empty seat behind mira and so he chose to go there. mari was told to guide him around the school and she was going to protest because she was planning on using this free day with no duties to just play with her cello but ended up just agreeing with the teacher. she was quite annoyed but held it in and he introduced himself to her with one of his cheesy pickup lines. she just scoffed at him and turned away. mira toured him around during the break and when they got to the music rooms he asked her to play for him. of course mira was surprised because as far as she knew practically no one outside of her family had known that she was learning to play. she said no but he bargained with her that he'll help her with her technique if he did which she first said no too but then he kept bugging her and made her said yes.

how they act around your character ; he's very playful around her and likes to follow her around. he's quite bold as he's always making some sort of skinship with her whether its putting his arm around her or linking her arms through his. he gets real with her and puts down his arrogant facade with her, showing his real down-to-earth self. he's very affectionate and isn't afraid to express himself and his feelings/thoughts towards her.

how your character acts around them ; at first she thinks that he's going to be like one of her bullies - rich and has the ego the size of jupiter. but she finds out that he isn't and she admires his hard working and confident persona. she's usually able to express her feelings/thoughts but with him she feels that its different and mira thinks that it's just she hasn't had someone who she could consider as a friend for a long time. she often tries to hide laughter/smile from his stupid jokes at the beginning but freely laughs when she gets to know him later. she feels that she can trust him and has a connection with him. she doesn't really notice his skinship behaviour but when she does she gets quite shy and pretends to not notice it.
